05:04 wahanui i heard HI there, was anyone available to give me some advice? Our koha admin site has been down for about a week now, just returning a error 400 page. It looks like it's returning broken html, with the formatting all wrong. I've spent multiple probably a dozen hours on this issue, but am making zero progress. Can anyone advise?

12:42 ashimema if you mark them as fuzzy in you'll no longer have to fix them manually each time
12:42 tuxayo ashimema: I can't I have to be admin. So I can only do that for Esperanto XD
12:43 tuxayo I emailed Bernardo to ask if there would be a way for RMaint to be able to do that. (or everyone, since everyone can submit translations...)
12:44 ashimema ah.. I asked him for admin permission when i became rmaint for just that reason I think
12:44 ashimema I'm sure he'll grant it to you :)
12:44 tuxayo good!
12:47 ashimema I did wonder if we could script marking errors as fuzzy as part of the translation build process

12:48 tuxayo I wonder why we have to mark them as fuzzy. It will end up in english anyway right?
12:48 ashimema pass.. I'm not close enough to how translations work to be honest
12:49 tuxayo At least locally. Because in the translation platform it allows to alert the translators tor fix them.
12:49 tuxayo *to fix
12:50 tuxayo RMaint is definitely a great job to find all kinds of things to fix and clarify in translations, system requirements, CI among others.

12:51 ashimema yup
12:51 ashimema that's what i did for 12 months as stable rmaint before becoming RM.. it was good and we made allot of improvements to our processes and things..

12:58 tuxayo > I should perhaps add a warning if etc/user.yml isn't found or something

12:58 tuxayo Maybe it should be mandatory and block? To ensure to not fallback to an old team for example.
13:00 ashimema would be easy to block..
13:00 ashimema just add a 'die' into the relevant code block
13:07 tuxayo ashimema: BTW, after checking the advertised experimental support for MySQL 8 in 19.05.x I got 16 test failures.

13:10 tuxayo It's not like the patches are coming, they are here for other versions and haven't been backported likely.
13:10 tuxayo I don't see myself digging in the previous versions to find MySQL 8 patches and risk breaking something...
13:11 ashimema sounds fair to me
13:13 tuxayo That would be surprising to find someone upgrading to 19.05.x and upgrade to MySQL 8. They would be better upgrading to a latter version that have better support.

16:00 cait1 tuxayo: haven't read back all the way, but if you have errors and don't fuzzy them, they can break the whole process
16:01 cait1 like... only half your files get copied into the translated directoreis or such things
16:01 tuxayo cait1: that's the kind of info that needed.
16:01 cait1 only when you fuzzy them, they don't get parsed, don't make trouble and stay English
16:01 tuxayo thanks, I fuzzied without really knowing why ^^"
16:01 cait1 or the pages break horribly because soem variable is missing... (some of the stuff that gets mistranslated is actually program code sneaking into translations)
16:02 tuxayo > like... only half your files get copied into the translated directoreis or such things
16:02 tuxayo 😱😱😱
16:02 cait1 usually the very first thing we do for tstig oddities is switch to english and see if it happens there too

18:33 tuxayo Indeed the unix user is martin

18:44 ashimema Yeah, we need Aleisha to upload the target again
18:44 ashimema One of us.. might have been me whilst trying to fix something else.. got the symlink syntax backwards
18:45 ashimema Which resulted in the file below overwritten

18:47 tuxayo ashimema:
18:47 tuxayo > got the symlink syntax backwards

19:15 tuxayo After the release I have a revenge to take against Circulation.t For some reasons is almost never passes on the CI and don't passe any more locally.
19:19 oleonard Oh, is Bug 25858 why I have staff who lost permission to do some things after we uprgraded?
19:19 huginn Bug[…]_bug.cgi?id=25858 blocker, P5 - low, ---, koha-bugs, NEW , Borrower permissions are broken by update from bug 22868
19:23 tuxayo @later tell Joubu The 20.05.01 release notes on the website still  mention «Debian Jessie with MySQL 5.5» and «announce the release of 19.11.07.»
19:23 huginn tuxayo: The operation succeeded.
19:30 oleonard tcohen around?
19:30 tcohen yes
19:30 oleonard What is the status of your work integrating DataTables and the API? I've lost track
19:30 tcohen on 20.05, the cities table is using the API
19:31 tcohen and it is a shame, but bug 25288 hasn't been pushed yet
19:31 huginn Bug[…]_bug.cgi?id=25288 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, tomascohen, Passed QA , Make the libraries list use the API
19:31 tcohen it basically adds the columns settings superpowers to the DT-API wrapper
19:31 tcohen (its dependency, not itself)
19:31 tcohen so, it is done
19:31 tcohen :-D
19:32 oleonard Excellent
19:32 wahanui darn tootin' it is.
19:32 tcohen two things to note:
19:33 tcohen - Joubu considers the way we escape things in JS 'ugly'. This is worth taking a look for options, specially people involved in UI and familiar with the tools around
19:34 tcohen (I don't really mind, I think it is fairly similar to what we end-up doing on TT, but I will support anyone improving it)
19:34 tcohen - The coolest thing we did for this is embedding things
19:35 tcohen so you requet an item with the full itemtype, and the holdingbranch as a library object, etc
19:35 tcohen but it requires 'touching' the API spec, and so it must be discussed but is so f*ing easy to do
19:35 tcohen :-D
19:36 oleonard 👍️
19:36 tcohen neither the cities table or the libraries table embed things
19:36 tcohen bummer
19:36 tcohen Look at bug 20212 for a complete example
19:36 huginn Bug[…]_bug.cgi?id=20212 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, tomascohen, ASSIGNED , Slowness in Receiving in Acquisitions
19:37 tcohen ^^ that one is fully funcitonal, it is just the query to mimmick the behaviour is rather complex and I got good sample data recently to move it forward
19:38 oleonard So if I'm looking for an example for how to work on something new I should look at 20212?
19:39 tcohen if the table you're building will need to show info from different tables, then yes
19:39 tcohen e.g. the patrons search table
19:40 tcohen e.g. async display of items on a biblio ;-)

20:23 rangi magnuse: we are doing it again for kohacon20
20:24 rangi taking all the registrations, making them borrowers, issuing workshops to them etc :)
20:24 rangi issue each day for those in person
20:24 caroline so they are borrowers!
20:24 rangi so we know how is in the building, important for contact tracing in this world we are in now too
20:25 rangi yeah
20:25 rangi or you could od it
20:25 rangi they are items
20:25 rangi and the borrower is the conference
20:25 rangi it works either way
20:25 caroline I was having philosophical questionning about people being catalogued
20:26 rangi maybe we will do it that way, we will catalogue each borrower, and issue them ou to the confernce :)
20:26 rangi caroline: we do that for authors already, we just call them authority records :)
20:27 caroline yup
20:27 rangi some libraries did a thing where you could "borrow" a person
20:27 caroline Yeah I saw that, I don't think they bothered to catalog them
20:27 rangi yeah
20:27 caroline especially if it's once or twice a year
20:27 caroline not worth the hassle
20:28 rangi i think we might catalogue them, and then have a scannable barcode on the nametag and they can selfcheck in and out :-)
20:28 rangi we have to track people for covid-19 anyway
20:29 rangi the idea about borrowers tho
20:29 rangi is they can reserve the workshops
20:29 rangi so it has advantages that way
20:29 rangi (you can tell i still havent decided)
