02:58 wizzyrea ...tinymce keeps messing up the links in news.
02:58 wizzyrea that's annoying.
03:03 eythian yeah, I've noticed that.
03:03 eythian We need to fix it.
03:04 wizzyrea yeah we do it's really irritating.
03:04 wizzyrea might be a bug with tinymce though
03:05 eythian It might be. I'm not sure where it comes from,.
03:05 wizzyrea it's weird, because sometimes it saves correctly, but then when you load it again, it screws it up
03:05 wizzyrea at least, I've just observed that.
03:09 wizzyrea https://drupal.org/node/100792 could be like this
03:09 * wizzyrea tries it
03:09 wizzyrea it's trying to do something smart I think. And being dumb in the process.
03:12 dcook ^
03:12 dcook I hate when that happens
03:13 dcook On the plus side, I think I figured out a Koha purchase order printing problem which has probably already been solved in newer versions of Koha :)
03:13 dcook Well one of two problems...
03:13 dcook Not really a Koha problem so much as a PDF::API2 misconfiguration/problem
03:13 mtompset links in news?
03:14 mtompset how, wizzyrea?
03:15 mtompset how eythian?
03:16 eythian it rewrites them in annoying and wrong (for our purpose) ways, IIRC.
03:16 dcook Hmm, nope. Not fixed in master...
03:16 wizzyrea ^^
03:17 mtj heya folks
03:17 wizzyrea http://www.tinymce.com/wiki.php/FAQ < heh, it's the first one.
03:18 eythian seemingly no option to just turn it all off.
03:18 mtj oh nice, did that fix your bug wiz?
03:18 wizzyrea which one
03:18 wahanui which one is probably that? The fixed navbar?
03:18 wizzyrea :P
03:18 wizzyrea the tinymce one?
03:18 wizzyrea idk yet
03:18 wizzyrea i'm about to find out :P
03:19 wizzyrea for one, we have no base url defined, probably an issue.
03:19 wizzyrea but I don't really want one...
03:20 eythian yeah, we can't do that really.
03:20 dcook Can't? ...or won't?
03:20 eythian can't
03:20 * dcook has been watching too much Scrubs recently...
03:20 eythian oh :)
03:20 * dcook should've added *said with Janitor voice* to that last bit ;)
03:21 wizzyrea OOooooo I fixed it!
03:21 dcook wizzyrea++
03:21 * wizzyrea makes a patch
03:21 irma joined #koha
03:26 mtj i did just notice the version of tinymce in koha-master is a few years old
03:26 mtj 3.5.8, circa 2012-11-20
03:26 eythian Packages use the Debian one, I think.
03:26 mtj ah,  thats not really so old.. :)
03:27 mtj ah yep, i forgot that
03:27 mtj anyhoo, even the older tinymce's probably does everything koha needs
03:28 mtj s/'// :)
03:28 eythian it's good to keep it reasonably current though. An update every release or two might not be a bad idea.
03:28 eythian drop it in at the start of a development cycle, perhaps.
03:29 mtj yeah, sounds good to me
03:30 wizzyrea I worry about this particular problem in tinymce 4, it doesn't seem to allow disabling entirely like I've just done with 3
03:30 wizzyrea but I didn't look *that* closely
03:31 eythian we might be able to provide a bogus base URL that causes it to never kick in, maybe.
03:31 eythian I dunno.
03:31 wizzyrea yeah it would require more time than I have at the moment
03:31 eythian javascript is a fungible language, we could monkey patch it.
03:31 eythian another time though.
03:32 wizzyrea ^ this sentence is awesome.
03:33 eythian "Duck punching" is an alternative term.
03:39 wizzyrea ...I was not expecting that
03:40 wizzyrea i am glad I didn't have a drink. It must be a globally funny day today
03:40 wizzyrea that or words are especially amusing to me today.
03:40 * dcook does a little dance
03:41 dcook Figured out all the problems with purchase order printing
03:41 dcook Sure, I had to go into PDF::API2's source code to figure out it was doing, but yay!
03:41 dcook wizzyrea: Funny and productive day!
03:42 wizzyrea wait wait
03:42 wahanui wait wait is probably there a new git bz/
03:42 wizzyrea what was the problem you were solving?
03:42 wizzyrea did it have to do with special characters in pdfs?
03:42 dcook Nopes
03:42 wizzyrea oh phew.
03:43 dcook Tables overlapping the footer and...table overflow starting at inopportune places on the new page
03:43 dcook And it's all due to poor config on our part
03:43 dcook Although the documentation is non-existent for the footer bit...
03:43 dcook Of course "start_y" - "start_h" = "bottom margin"
03:44 dcook Oh well. In the end, I'm glad that it's solved and that it's open source, so I could figure it out.
03:44 dcook Banana time!
03:44 wizzyrea @quote add <dcook> I'm glad that it's solved and that it's open source, so I could figure it out.
03:44 huginn wizzyrea: Error: You must be registered to use this command. If you are already registered, you must either identify (using the identify command) or add a hostmask matching your current hostmask (using the "hostmask add" command).
03:44 wizzyrea curse you.
03:44 wizzyrea @quote add <dcook> I'm glad that it's solved and that it's open source, so I could figure it out.
03:44 huginn wizzyrea: The operation succeeded.  Quote #304 added.
03:45 wizzyrea take that.
03:47 dcook \o/
03:47 dcook I probably should've had a comma before "and". Oh well :p
03:47 dcook O_O
03:47 dcook I just had a dark chocolate tim tam and now I'm eating a banana, and it's magical.
03:48 dcook Lingering chocolate taste...fused with banana...there is a name for this...
03:48 dcook Banana boat? I want to say it's something you do when camping.
03:48 dcook Campfire banana split?
03:48 * dcook needs some marshmallows...
03:48 dcook Oh no, it is called a banana boat
03:48 * dcook has no idea why he should remember that...
03:49 dcook I'll go back to coding now after ranting about punctuation and food...
03:49 eythian gmcharlt: bug 12033 for your consideration. Also, I noticed while creating that that not everyone in the group was added, which I would have expected.
03:49 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org[…]_bug.cgi?id=12033 is not accessible.
03:50 dcook Actually, quick question, wizzyrea. Do you use layout2pages or layout3pages?
03:53 dcook Oh wait a tic...maybe someone did already fix this in master...
03:53 dcook That would sure show me
03:54 dcook Or worse..
03:54 dcook Oh no, still the same.
03:55 eythian my @subf = $field->subfields or ();    # don't use ||, as that forces $field->subfelds to be interpreted in scalar context
03:55 eythian that is a new one on me
03:55 eythian papa, can you explain that?
03:57 papa what?
03:57 papa that line makes no sense
03:57 eythian why || would make something scalar when 'or' wouldn't.
03:58 cjh eythian: || will return the last value evaluated, so my @a = (1,2,3) || (4,5,6); will set @a to 3
03:58 papa correct
03:58 cjh eythian: whereas (1,2,3) or (4,5,6) will set @a to (1,2,3)
03:58 eythian cjh: but those are lists, not arrays.
03:58 eythian does that make a difference here?
03:59 cjh is subfields a function that returns a list?
03:59 mtompset BTW, is adding www-data to at.allow really a good idea?
04:00 eythian cjh: maybe.
04:00 eythian Probably, given where it's going.
04:00 papa my @subf = $field->subfields or ();   is a very poor choice
04:00 mtompset subfields returns scalar or list depending on context.
04:00 eythian papa: in that case, what doesn't make sense about it?
04:00 papa because it will behave in the same manner for undef and ()
04:01 eythian well in that case, it wouldn't matter, right?
04:01 papa which is not ideal
04:01 mtompset papa what error are you encountering? I think I have a bug report.
04:01 eythian ah, I've found the bit in perlop now.
04:02 eythian mtompset: adding www-data to at.allow is necessary if you want www-data to be able to schedule tasks.
04:02 papa I'm not encountering any errors, just thinking aloud
04:02 mtompset oh, because you got me thinking of my bug 11797
04:02 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org[…]_bug.cgi?id=11797 minor, P5 - low, ---, mtompset, Needs Signoff , auth_finder.pl: Odd number of elements in anonymous hash
04:03 eythian ahh, it's to do with precedence. I find that slightly odd.
04:04 papa eythian: actually you are right, in this particular case it does not matter. but still, it would be *way* better to return an arrayref
04:04 eythian oh, because = binds tighter than 'or'. Now I get it, it makes sense.
04:04 eythian oh, no it doesn't.
04:04 * eythian gives up for now. I'll let it soak in.
04:05 dcook http://perldoc.perl.org/perlop[…]and-Associativity
04:05 eythian http://perldoc.perl.org/perlop[…]-and-Exclusive-Or <-- no, this
04:06 dcook However, when it's a list-context assignment and you're trying to use || for control flow, you probably need "or" so that the assignment takes higher precedence.
04:06 dcook My link just shows the precedence, I believe
04:06 papa returning arrays is a bad idea, unless it is for the multiple values sake, eg return ($status, $error_msg) or something
04:07 papa I would rewrite that anyway
04:24 eythian papa: what's wrong with returning arrays?
04:24 mtompset wizzyrea: I have a question.
04:24 mtompset Do you have a link from tools/runreports.pl to misc/cronjobs/runreports.pl?
04:24 eythian she's gone
04:25 mtompset Because there is no tools/runreports.pl
04:25 * dcook pointed the same thing out a week or two ago :)
04:25 mtompset And yet her patch on bug 12031 says there is.
04:25 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org[…]_bug.cgi?id=12031 normal, P5 - low, ---, gmcharlt, Needs Signoff , Task Scheduler not sending mail
04:26 mtompset dcook: Did you bug fix it?
04:26 dcook Nope. I said that the Task Scheduler was probably a bad idea.\
04:26 dcook I'm sure there's a bug around somewhere that has some input from Galen, myself, and perhaps someone else to that effect
04:27 mtompset bug 1993

04:30 dcook mtompset: But yeah, good one on bug 12031. I don't know how that could've been successfully tested :S
04:30 dcook Maybe a symlink
04:30 papa eythian: it is wrong
04:30 papa a) cause I say so
04:30 papa b) it is unnecessary copying things around
04:31 eythian well, I suppose it's really returning a list.
04:31 papa yeah, but if it is a largish list...
04:32 mtompset I failed QA'd it, and changed it to depends on 1993. :)
04:33 eythian papa: yeah. I'm wondering if perl does something smart with it, e.g. making it copy-on-write or something.
04:33 eythian But it probably can't.
04:33 mtompset I'm going to bed.
04:33 eythian later
04:33 mtompset Have a great day, #koha eythian dcook papa
04:33 papa like I have allocated some memory for my list, and I'm going to return it, so the recipient has to allocate another block to receive it, and then I'll let the garbage collector to clean up my returning list
04:34 eythian well, if the array in the sub would go out of scope, then you could just provide that anyway.
04:35 eythian so no copying needed.
04:35 papa I used to do that when I was in the army, they'd tell us to dig a trench in the morning, and in the afternoon to dig another one, and use the soil to fill in the first one
04:35 papa nope, @a = some_func() will always copy

15:34 kivilahtio also bulkmarcimport.pl works fine, but stage-marc-import.pl does not :(

15:45 cait barton: i think it might differ depending on what the accountline is about
15:46 cait kivilahtio: what are you trying to do?
15:46 cait if you use bulkmarkimport you won't have to stage the file, it does a stage and commit
15:47 kivilahtio I am trying to upload a batch of MARC records to make acqusitions from
15:47 cait and how are you trying to do it?
15:47 cait do you want to do it from the gui or command line?
15:47 kivilahtio cait: Well... I go to stage-marc-import.pl
15:47 kivilahtio GUI
15:47 cait ok
15:47 cait do you have a mrc file?
15:48 kivilahtio cait: lemme pastebin it for you
15:48 cait are you running plack?
15:48 kivilahtio but it works fine with bulkmarcimport.pl
15:48 kivilahtio nope
15:48 kivilahtio just apache2
15:48 cait you can't import xml from stage i think
15:48 cait only mrc
15:48 kivilahtio well I tested it with bulkmarcimport test mode
15:48 kivilahtio hmm
15:48 cait both are not the same
15:48 kivilahtio ok then :)
15:48 cait bulkmarcimport is a different animal :)
15:49 kivilahtio so I cannot import marcxml via GUI
15:49 cait afaik
15:49 kivilahtio ok
15:49 kivilahtio I wonder if it is bad to code it
15:49 cait if you convert it using marcedit or something it should work
15:49 kivilahtio yeah that is how they did it
15:49 kivilahtio but the problem is that we have several bibliographic record (cataloguin) vendors and some give as xml

16:34 mtompset particularly KF's question regarding div vs. span.
16:34 mtompset Is there a set of guidelines for choosing one over the other?
16:35 oleonard <div> is block-level, so by default it appears on its own "line," as if it was preceded by a line break.
16:36 oleonard <span> is inline, so it stays within the flow of the text it is in.
16:36 oleonard In this case I don't see any reason why the text should be block-level. I think <span> is preferable.

17:30 cait yep
17:30 cait also, for what we know, they might be different persons
17:30 cait and if you use authority numbers for linking those are also different
17:30 mtompset Good point about the authority numbers.
17:31 wajasu well, with cutting off in presentation, we will always 2 of the same name for most Authors.
17:32 mtompset Yes, but the second is like a subset, right?
17:32 cait hm that depends where you cut off
17:33 cait we could showmore information in a mouse over

17:33 wajasu yes.  mouse over shoud show all.
17:33 mtompset Ooo... yes, mouseover... like.
17:36 wajasu i guess as i iterate, if a term has a previously seen term, AND the # occur is the same, we could overwrite withthe longer term. (and maybe use the auth number).
17:36 wajasu Don't know what to do about why the auth number is appended to some of the terms.
17:36 cait ?
17:37 wajasu <term coccur="4" occur="4">Tozer, A. W. (Aiden Wilson), 1897-1963. 11849</term>

18:24 mtompset Actually, I just got back from a chauffeur job... wajasu, the "duplicates" look like someone didn't catalogue the authorities the same way consistently.
18:25 cait_afk mtompset: actually i think they look a bit too consistent
