Have you ever heared of Manx? |
11:53 |
|
jbglaw |
http://vt100.net/manx/ |
11:53 |
|
jbglaw |
It's a (these days abandoned) web site for searching preserved old technical documentation. |
11:54 |
|
jbglaw |
It probably started as a search engine for scanned DEC documentation (like manuals for PDP/8, PDP/11, VAX, VT100 terminals etc.) |
11:55 |
|
jbglaw |
So Manx is like a very small ILS, knowing about titles, years, vendors, manual's part numbers, etc. That could easily be done with Koha, too. |
11:55 |
|
jbglaw |
If available online somewhere, there are also links to the PDF files. |
11:56 |
|
jbglaw |
A probably not-so-easy task is, that Manx also has built-in capabilities to enter (and thus: search) a manually typed table of contents of the PDFs. |
11:57 |
|
jbglaw |
Are there ideas (or maybe even common practices) to enter structured data like TOCs (or even OCRed scanned manual pages) into Koha? |
