05:39 TimothyAlexis I'm trying to add a filter on the #checkoutst table in but have yet to succeed. It seems simple and straightforward (https://wiki.koha-community.or[…]-column_filtering).
05:40 TimothyAlexis I've also looked at other pages that have implemented this feature.
05:41 TimothyAlexis When testing now, I added this: <input type="text" class="filter" data-column_num="1" placeholder="Filter on title" />
05:42 TimothyAlexis and added the table to a var like this:    var bTable = $(this).dataTable($.extend(true, {
05:43 TimothyAlexis before, it was:  $(this).dataTable($.extend(true, {
05:44 TimothyAlexis And then after the dataTable call: bTable.fnAddFilters("filter", 500);
05:44 TimothyAlexis Is there anything else to it?
05:45 TimothyAlexis Does anyone know how to get it to work? Do I need to add something else to the code?

11:21 mtj hi ashimema, re 22522, the various mojo packages have been updated for 20.05/D10 - but not (yet?) for 19.11/D10
11:22 ashimema I was surprised to see cpanfile / PerlDependancies lists the same versions on the various branches.
11:22 ashimema I'm a bit lost as to where JSON::Validator::OpenAPI::Mojolicious is coming from
11:22 ashimema it's missing in D10, 19.11.. but I also can't see how it's not missing in other branches
11:22 ashimema I'm clearly missing something
11:23 mtj ...the reason why, is that updating the 19.11 mojo packages to work for D10 would break D8 (..possibly D9 too)
11:24 ashimema what confuses me is that cpanfile seems to list the same versions in 19.11 and 20.05 and master..
11:26 ashimema what package actually includes the above perl module.. it switch from being contained inside JSON::Validator to being part of Mojolicious::Plugin::OpenAPI at some point.. but I can't work out when that happened.. it doesn't seem to coincide with our listed versions
11:26 * ashimema brain hurts today
11:27 mtj the cpanfile is probably outdated - im not sure what its used for... just jenkins, or a tar install?
11:27 andreashm joined #koha
11:28 ashimema cpanfile replaced PerlDependancies
11:28 ashimema so it's used to build the control file for packages
11:28 ashimema isn't it?
11:28 andreashm joined #koha
11:30 mtj hmm, id say no
11:30 kellym_ joined #koha
11:31 mtj i think the magic happens in Module::CPANfile
11:31 koha-jenkins Project Koha_Master_D9_My8 build #349: SUCCESS in 51 min: https://jenkins.koha-community[…]aster_D9_My8/349/
11:31 mtj ahh Module::CPANfile loads the cpanfile
11:32 ashimema ;)
11:33 mtj remeber, the control file doesnt have version numbers, by default
11:33 koha-jenkins Project Koha_Master_D9_MDB_Latest build #325: SUCCESS in 50 min: https://jenkins.koha-community[…]9_MDB_Latest/325/
11:34 ashimema I was using apt-cache policy to try and deduce versions
11:34 kellym__ joined #koha
11:34 mtj ashimema: the issue is that the mojo packages are different for 20.05 and 19.11 in the apt repo
11:35 ashimema in our apt repo.. or in debian?
11:35 mtj specifically in our repo
11:36 ashimema so is 19.11 D10 perhaps pointed to the wrong repo somewhere?
11:37 mtj no no... 19.11 is failing on d10 as expected
11:37 ashimema aha.. so it's expected to fail on D10
11:37 ashimema OK.. fun
11:38 mtj the question is... do we want to fix the 19.11 repo to work for d10, and break for d8?
11:39 mtj (which is what we've done for 20.05)
11:39 ashimema OK.. I see
11:39 mtj so, thats the bad news... ^
11:39 ashimema Joubu ^
11:40 mtj ..the good news, we can make 19.11/D8 still work, but users will need to update their sources.d/koha line
11:40 mtj from..
11:40 mtj deb 19.11 main
11:40 * ashimema wonders how D8 and D9 are currently working
11:40 mtj to...
11:40 mtj deb 19.11 main jessie
11:40 ashimema so this is all to do with bug 22522
11:40 huginn Bug[…]_bug.cgi?id=22522 critical, P1 - high, ---, ere.maijala, Pushed to oldstable , API authentication breaks with updated Mojolicious version
11:42 ashimema which I thought was the magic bullet to ensure we worked both sides of the version where it all changed
11:42 mtj yes, the patch depends on a problematic YAML XS package, that needs to be build for a specific deb/perl version
11:43 mtj the magic bullet has a catch...
11:44 mtj the mojo packages in d9 and d11 work together - the packages in d10 are mismatched
11:45 ashimema ah, I see
11:46 koha-jenkins Project Koha_Master_D9 build #1367: SUCCESS in 57 min: https://jenkins.koha-community[…]a_Master_D9/1367/
11:46 mtj its actually very complicated to explain the package conflicts for each version
11:47 ashimema it's a nightmare
11:47 ashimema so.. we should basically not pretend we're supporting D10.. or we should drop D8 support on 19.11 and instead support D10
11:48 mtj the problem is solved when we move to '19.11 main jessie' style sources.d lines
11:49 * ashimema thought we had already done that
11:49 mtj well, i thought a nice option was... if you really have to use deb8, you can continue to use 19.11.x releases
11:50 ashimema indeed
11:50 mtj "ashimema thought we had already done that" <- we've done that for the 20.05 release
11:51 ashimema yeah.. I just re-read the email
11:51 ashimema so we're not yet doing it for 19.11 then
11:52 mtj thats correct, i didnt want to be the person that broke things for 19.11/deb8 users
11:52 ashimema hehe
11:52 khall joined #koha
11:52 ashimema Joubu.. I think this needs to come from you ^
11:53 ashimema If we want Jenkins green across the board for 19.11 we need to do as mtj suggested and enforce a repo listing change so we continue to support D8 alongside D10
11:53 mtj good news is that the breakage is easily fixed... just need to add 'jessie' to the sources.d line
11:54 ashimema hmm.. if we really are continuing to support D8 fr 20.05 via your clever packageing.. we should probably list that on Dashboard and be running tests on it still
11:55 khall_ joined #koha
11:56 mtj agreed
11:59 mtj folks, do we fix 19.11 for deb10, and provide some doco for the workaround on deb8?
12:01 mtj ...perhaps an email to the mailing lists?
12:03 ashimema probably a good idea
12:03 koha-jenkins Project Koha_Master_U20 build #18: SUCCESS in 1 hr 11 min: https://jenkins.koha-community[…]ha_Master_U20/18/
12:03 ashimema looks like we're arleady building D8's for 20.05 on Jenkins.. just not displaying them in the dashboard yet
12:03 ashimema I can add that
12:03 ashimema U16 too... do we want that display also..
12:04 ashimema blimey

12:18 ashimema hmm..
12:18 ashimema why do we test D8 for 19.11 but not U16 ?
12:19 mtj its just been missed, i think
12:21 mtj ..all U16 build on jenkins have been missed (i added 20.05/u16 yesterday)
12:21 ashimema I see
12:21 ashimema I also find it weird we support U18 going back a few versions.. but only D10 very recently..
12:21 ashimema U18 is based on D10 if my understanding is correct
12:24 ashimema so.. we're saying on stable we're supporting

12:28 Joubu mtj: how big is the work to update our repo architecture?
12:29 mtj hmm, not much, its mostly all done

12:30 Joubu and how big would be the maintenance?
12:31 kellym @ashimema is it possible to look at 23808 and backporting into 19.11?  Nick rebased it for 19.11 - we have a lot of partners asking for this.
12:31 huginn kellym: I've exhausted my database of quotes
12:32 mtj Joubu: maintainance is not much work either, its a very simple setup
12:32 Joubu I mean, if we had a new package, could we maintain them all easily or that will need additional tasks per OS?
12:32 ashimema kellym you'll need to ask aleisha as the 19.11 branch rmaint
12:32 ashimema I see no reason not to myself ;)
12:33 kellym sorry - my mistake!
12:33 Joubu do you have a technical documentation you can share about that? current situation vs the new one?
12:33 mtj the package only needs to be built per OS, if its a perl-xs package - and if it doesnt already exist in the debian repo
12:33 kellym aleisha is it possible to look at 23808 and backporting into 19.11? Nick rebased for 19.11
12:33 kellym thanks @ashimema!
12:34 ashimema no worries kellym
12:34 ashimema @later tell aliesha kellym was trying to reach you.. any chance bug 23808 can be backported to 19.11.. Nick has already added a rebased patch to the bug to make it easy.

12:34 ashimema ;)
12:35 mtj Joubu: i dont have any doco, other than the emails ive sent about the subject

12:38 mtj ..and they have needed to be built for 3 older OS'
12:38 cait waht did we push that could cause this between .00 and .01?
12:39 Joubu mtj: my concern is that we should be able to follow what you are doing. If you disapear from the internet, or simply take some vacation, or could be great to have a way to know how we can continue your work without too much trouble.
12:40 Joubu It would be helpful to have a git repo with the different changes you are doing currently. We could certainly better understand, and even review to catch potential issues
