I found the issue. the link to the koha-httpd.conf file needs to be a file koha.conf not a link. I created the file (copy and pasted the text) into the site-avail and site-enabled and now I'm back up and running. |

I found this which supports it: When attempting to enable an apache site, it supposedly doesn't exist. Depending on the version of apache installed, sites of one form (e.g. /etc/apache2/sites-available/{SITENAME}) need to be renamed to another form (e.g. /etc/apache2/sites-available/{SITENAME}.conf). |
