00:27 mtj hi all
00:27 mtj bgkriegel, the README for koha-qa.pl mentions the perlcriticrc setup
00:27 mtj https://github.com/Koha-Community/koha-qa-test
00:27 mtj step 2 :)
00:27 mtj 2/ copy perlcriticrc file to your home dir (important!)
00:27 mtj $ cp /path/to/your/koha-qa-tools/perlcriticrc ~/
00:29 mtj hmmm, actually why doesnt koha-qa.pl attempt to use  ./koha/perlcriticrc instead
00:29 mtj … that would be better, and would mean that people dont have to overwrite their ~/perlcriticrc file
00:33 * dcook wonders if anyone has a bug squashing theme song...
00:33 mtj bgkriegel, aaah, reading back properly - it looks like you have already done step 2, sorry! :)
00:37 mtj dcook, i think the default rule applies … Motörhead
00:41 dcook mtj: Hmm...not bad
00:42 mtj i recently saw a bizzare recipe for a chocolate cake that had avocado and… fresh coconut meat?!
00:42 mtj … on some foody tv show, it looked very impressive
00:42 * dcook wishes that he had a publicly accessible image of the coconut that he demolished the other day in search of fresh coconut meat
00:44 mtj the show was about 2 people that owned a vegen food-catering company, for big events
00:45 mtj coconut meat was their secret ingredient, apparently :)
00:46 dcook Hmm, neato!
00:46 dcook Did we remove Amazon Reviews at some point, or am I missing some sys prefs in my dev install?
00:47 * dcook seems to remember some conversation about enhanced content on koha-devel recently
00:47 mtj yep, they got removed recently, to a round of cheers :p
00:47 dcook Cheers?
00:48 jcamins Jeers.
00:48 jcamins Whatever. :P
00:49 jcamins We were happy, snide remarks were made about Amazon. :)
00:49 dcook Ah, that sounds familiar ;)
00:50 jcamins The avocado brownies fail to excite me.
00:50 dcook In reality or the recipe?
00:50 jcamins The recipe.
00:51 jcamins I feel like that's not really taking advantage of avocado.
00:51 dcook Koha master and baker? Is there anything you don't know, jcamins? :P
00:52 jcamins It's the sort of thing you'd come up with to serve brownies to a vegan, but not necessarily something you'd come up with to show off the chocolate-avocado pairing.
00:52 dcook Mmm
00:52 mtj dcook, we concluded that koha no longer complies with amazon's TOS
00:52 dcook mtj: Ah, right. That was the ticket!
00:52 jcamins dcook: I don't know much about carpentry.
00:53 mtj .. so, removing the amazon code seems like the only option we had
00:53 dcook Makes sense, mtj
00:53 dcook jcamins: Good to know on both counts ;). Are you vegan yourself or non-dairy for other reasons?
00:53 jcamins Actually, I eat lots of dairy.
00:53 dcook Such as not enough butter in the fridge?
00:53 qu-bit_ joined #koha
00:53 jcamins ^^ bingo
00:54 dcook Makes sense
00:54 jcamins I have a single stick of butter, and no chocolate -- just cocoa -- which complicates baking.
00:54 jcamins However, I also had 6 avocados in the house, 3 of which needed to be used today.
00:55 jcamins So I used two in dinner (fingerling potatos baked then sautéed with garlic and onion served with an avocado-goat cheese dressing), and the third is going into dessert.
00:55 dcook Ergo the baking
00:55 jcamins Yup. :)
00:55 dcook Mmm
00:56 dcook You've made me acutely aware that it is lunch time and I am hungry
00:56 jcamins lol
00:56 jcamins You're welcome.
00:56 dcook ...and not in the position to have such a delicious meal :p
00:56 jcamins I'm almost tempted to make these, or something like them: http://catesworldkitchen.com/2[…]-oatmeal-cookies/
00:57 jcamins The thing about oatmeal cookies is they tend to be dry.
00:57 dcook True
00:57 wizzyrea not the koha ones
00:57 wizzyrea the oatmeal coconut curry ones
00:57 jcamins So I'm thinking this is the _perfect_ showcase for for the rich yumminess that is avocado.
00:57 dcook That's why I either eat them right out of the oven or re-introduce them to heat
00:57 wizzyrea I have made them many times
00:57 jcamins wizzyrea: true, those always come out great.
00:58 dcook oatmeal coconut curry?
00:58 * dcook 's brain explodes
00:58 jcamins !
00:58 jcamins dcook is horribly deprived!
00:58 wizzyrea bug 5158
00:58 jcamins curried coconut oatmeal chocolate chip cookies?
00:58 wahanui curried coconut oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are at http://www.cookiemadness.net/2[…]ate-chip-cookies/
00:58 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org[…]w_bug.cgi?id=5158 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, camins, ASSIGNED , Koha needs its own cookie, ice cream, and fudge flavors
00:58 dcook For a moment, I thought you said depraved :p
00:58 jcamins lol
00:58 jcamins Only if you object to the ultimate awesomeness that is those cookies.
00:59 wizzyrea I have made them lots of times, sometimes with chocolate, sometimes without, sometimes with fruit, sometimes without
00:59 wizzyrea sometimes with curry, sometimes without
00:59 jcamins wizzyrea: the problem is I want chocolate, and adding cocoa powder to those is never as satisfying as I wish.
00:59 jcamins (and we don't have any other chocolate)
00:59 jcamins Why yes, I _have_ managed to come up with the most absurd set of constraints ever.
01:00 riba joined #koha
01:00 wizzyrea oh you should taste the chocolate they have here -
01:00 wizzyrea I'm trying to find it on their website but it is in flash
01:00 wizzyrea >.<
01:01 * jcamins would take any chocolate right about now!
01:01 riba O HAI
01:01 wizzyrea http://www.whittakers.co.nz/#/[…]ts/darkghanapips/ this kind but in blocks
01:02 wizzyrea anyway it's amazing.
01:02 ribasushi I was idly googling and saw this bugthread http://bugs.koha-community.org[…]g.cgi?id=8798#c27
01:02 huginn Bug 8798: enhancement, P3, ---, elliott, Signed Off , Add the use of DBIx::Class
01:02 ribasushi there is a thing there about a warning that seems to confuse everyone
01:02 ribasushi I can help clarify if anyone is interested
01:03 * dcook thinks he needs to close his chat window or his body might devour itself from the inside out
01:03 jcamins ribasushi: yes please!
01:04 ribasushi jcamins: where can I look at the code in question? (link to the file with the warning-emitting relationship is best)
01:04 jcamins Unfortunately, all the code is just on the bug at the moment: http://bugs.koha-community.org[…]ment.cgi?id=12480
01:04 ribasushi that'll do - reading
01:10 ribasushi jcamins: right, so the warning is correct - you are doing something wonky
01:10 ribasushi here is your Borrower: http://paste.scsys.co.uk/23163[…]submit=Format+it!
01:11 ribasushi and here is your Patronimage: http://paste.scsys.co.uk/23163[…]submit=Format+it!
01:11 jcamins Right.
01:11 ribasushi what you are trying to express is "A borrower may optionally be related to a Patronimage, by storing the Patronimage PK in a column of Borrower"
01:12 ribasushi for this you do not use might_have
01:12 ribasushi you use
01:13 rangi so it's  DBIx::Class::Schema::Loader doing something wonky, since those are all generated (not human authored) files :)
01:13 ribasushi belongs_to ( $relname, $target_whose_reference_we_hold, $column_where_we_hold_reference, { join_type => 'left' } ) <--- last bit to indicate optionality (there isn't a might_belong_to, eben though there ought to be)
01:13 ribasushi while on the other side there got to be: Patronimage->might_have (... )
01:13 ribasushi right, S::L is at fault here
01:14 rangi cool, well they all need to be regened anyway being now totally out of date
01:14 ribasushi please check if latest version off CPAN generates the same crap, and if it does file an RT, with a dump of both of your tables in question
01:14 ribasushi an SQL-dump that is
01:14 ribasushi HTH
01:14 jcamins Thanks!
01:14 rangi thanks, yes it does
01:16 ribasushi I don't do much IRC lately, but you can hit me at ribasushi@cpan.org if you get stuck down the road
01:16 rangi excellent thank you
01:16 ribasushi I am dgital packrat, library-related stuff always has a special place in my mind ;)
01:16 ribasushi aye, happy to help
01:17 rangi oh, random question .. we were thinking of looking into DBIx::Class::Schema::Versioned
01:17 ribasushi not recommended
01:17 rangi worth investigating, or do you have a better idea for tracking db changes
01:17 rangi cool
01:17 rangi that answers that
01:17 ribasushi look into DBIx::Class::Migrations instead
01:17 rangi sweet
01:17 ribasushi more complicated due to being much more comprehensive and flexible, but worth the curve
01:18 ribasushi ::Versioned will leave you by the side of the road half-way
01:18 ribasushi (it was the best folks could come up at the time, times change)
01:18 rangi *nod*
01:20 rangi well that's my weekend sorted then :)
01:20 ribasushi btw it used to emit incomprehensible warnings on STDERR (Devel::Pekk dumps) due to a set of fails stacking together to make baby jesus cry
01:20 ribasushi so make sure you get a fresh depchain off CPAN (it got fixed like 3 days ago)
01:20 rangi ahh cool
01:28 ribasushi aight I'll be on my way, good luck with the project and ask for help if anything &
01:30 mtj wow, that was a pretty awesome fly-by :)
01:31 wizzyrea hehe yea
01:41 dcook Neato
01:41 * dcook just re-read the scrollback
01:42 dcook Glad to know that other people outside the library world are interested in library-related stuff

06:09 dcook I'm of no opinion on that one, rangi.
06:09 dcook Just noticed that syspref today actually
06:09 * dcook is trying to figure out how to specify different default values for authorities...
06:11 rangi i think i might leave it, in the interests of stability
06:11 rangi 2 patches in 3.10.3 for you
06:14 dcook Hmm
06:15 dcook The Bib1 one isn't a big deal, but I'm glad that subtype one got in
06:17 dcook Mmm, neato
06:17 dcook Sys pref "MARCAuthorityControlField008" ftw
06:18 dcook The authorities frameworks could probably benefit from an import/export function like the biblios one...
06:19 dcook Well, maybe not. Like you said the other day, it's probably faster just to use the Web UI to add RDA tags for the MARC Authority frameworks..
06:20 cait joined #koha
06:21 rangi the import and export is good
06:21 rangi because once someone else has done one
06:21 rangi they can put it on the wiki
06:21 rangi saving someone else doing it
06:21 dcook That would be convenient
06:22 dcook Shall I put out a report for an enhancement?
06:22 dcook I probably won't have time to look at that for a while, but at least the idea would be out there
06:22 dcook Or is that more of a koha-devel thing?
06:23 rangi probably more of a koha-devel one
06:23 rangi hi cait
06:23 cait hi rangi and dcook
06:23 dcook hey cait :)
06:23 rangi and we could notify the existance of the frameworks page on the wiki more widely too
06:24 dcook Mmm, very true. I imagine that there are quite a few useful frameworks out there that could be added to that
06:24 dcook I'd actually like to update the RDA framework you have there as well..

17:09 tcohen it is well formed, just checked it
17:10 datadoctor i'm just using Data::Dumper here and it is very helpful for understanding your data structure

17:12 jcamins Odd... that looks right to me.
17:12 jcamins How about warn ref($sql_parameter)?
17:13 datadoctor i like that!
17:13 tcohen jcamins, you proposed treat it like a scalar on assignment and then cast it?
17:13 jcamins tcohen: my suggestion was based on the fact that most routines return arrayrefs rather than arrays.
17:14 pastebot "tcohen" at 172.16.248.196 pasted "validateSQLparameters method" (17 lines) at http://paste.koha-community.org/396
17:14 jcamins But it looks like GetParametersFromSQL is returning an actual array.
17:14 tcohen i put this on that method: return \@sql_parameters;
17:14 jcamins Ah!
17:15 jcamins So it does need to be: my $sql_parameters...
17:15 jcamins and @$sql_parameters in the loop
17:15 tcohen that's a cast, right?
17:15 jcamins Nope.
