anyone got opinions on bug 36115? the question is: is the code wrong in using the Return-Path address as the "from" address? or is the documentation wrong in saying that the Return-Path is just for bounced messages? |

magnuse, I think I'm the one who updated the manual for the library settings. I based the description of the Return-Path on the system preference ReturnPathDefault |
15:20 |
|
caroline |
My understanding is that the "From" should be the library email, and if there is none, it should be KohaAdminEmailAddress |

I built a koha and imported from our old system.. and it needed to be changed as it was missing the second library... now I rebuilt the Koha and made 2 libraries, got newer MARC data and now I can't import the MARC data. Can someone take a look at the MARC data and see what is not correct? or what I'm missing |
16:30 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
either the MARC data or the CSV |

Hello I am hoping someone can guide me in the right direction, I am transferring our library from Alexandria to Koha, I have the MARC records but when I import into KOHA the barcodes do not get populated. |
19:04 |
|
oleonard |
Hi saeitperson[m] |
19:04 |
|
oleonard |
Where is your item information in your MARC records? |
19:05 |
|
saeitperson[m] |
hello |
19:05 |
|
saeitperson[m] |
field 0 |
19:05 |
|
oleonard |
Koha expects item information to be in 952 |
19:05 |
|
oleonard |
barcode, home library, holding library, item type, etc. |
19:16 |
|
saeitperson[m] |
how do I edit the MARC file to let KOHA know which filed is for the barcode? |
19:16 |
|
oleonard |
Probably MARCEdit https://marcedit.reeset.net/ |
19:17 |
|
oleonard |
You can define automated tasks, so you can automatically copy information from one tag to another |
19:17 |
|
oleonard |
Koha also has MARC modification templates but I'm not sure it would work in your case... I'm not sure what you mean by field 0 |
19:18 |
|
oleonard |
saeitperson[m]: MARC modification templates let you automatically modify MARC records during import. |
19:46 |

I wonder if approving a comment should be a post operation... it's an update eh? |

does anyone know what the "multi receiving" button in serials is supposed to do? I click on it and say I want to receive 12 and it receives 1 only |
20:00 |
|
caroline |
I think I'm misunderstanding the use of the button, but I can't figure out what else it could mean |
20:06 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
is it possible to change the "branch code" for each library? |
20:07 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
currently it is "FRL" and would like to change it to "FLR" |
20:07 |
|
caroline |
JasonGreene[m], it should not be possible |
20:08 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
ok, that's what I thought |
20:08 |
|
caroline |
you'd need to create a new one, move all your items and your patrons to the new one, and then delete the old one |
20:09 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
ok, I'll just leave it. |
20:45 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
Ok, I'm still stuck. rebuilt the Koha server and ran the spreadsheet through "MARCEdit" and then did the "Stage MARC records for import" and the library is still empty. Anyone know where I'm doing the wrong thing? |
20:52 |
|
caroline |
what do you mean by the library is empty? the search is empty or there is nothing in the database? |
20:54 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
when I search, I get this... (full message at <https://matrix.org/_matrix/med[…]OgLJyUBxBECoaXLPZ>) |

20:54 |
|
saeitperson[m] |
did you go to Manged staged records after the initial upload? |
20:55 |
|
saeitperson[m] |
managed not manged |
20:56 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
the "jobs" are there ...just sitting there |
20:56 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
"Staged MARC records for import" |
20:57 |
|
saeitperson[m] |
is a 2 step process so click on the name of the job and you can them export the items |
20:58 |
|
caroline |
saeitperson[m], I read your nick as "sane IT person" lol |
20:58 |
|
saeitperson[m] |
import I mean |
20:58 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
Progress on them is null/0 |
20:58 |
|
saeitperson[m] |
I had the same issue I had to reboot the server for the job to complete |
20:59 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
ok, I'll reboot it |
21:04 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
ok, it looked like the "jobs" went through, however, I got this... (full message at <https://matrix.org/_matrix/med[…]lNrTeKVXNWEBGGRZU>) |
21:06 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
here is one |
21:06 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
16203A Lion for the Emperor Sophie de MullenheimStagedNo match |
21:06 |
|
caroline |
that looks fine |
21:06 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
they all say "Stage No match" |
21:07 |
|
caroline |
yeah, they were staged, but it didn't look for matching records in the catalog |
21:07 |
|
caroline |
your catalog was empty before, iirc, so there was no use for a matching rule anyway |
21:08 |
|
caroline |
now you have to manage staged files like saeitperson[m] said, and import the records into the catalog |
21:08 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
Did a search... (full message at <https://matrix.org/_matrix/med[…]NAkvDvpaWSpFIpMzk>) |
21:08 |
|

there are two steps to importing: staging and importing |
21:08 |
|
caroline |
you only did the staging part |

davidnind, around? https://gitlab.com/-/snippets/[…]other-than-master The alternative for step 2 at the bottom, is it a command to do step 2 and 3 or you still have to do step 3? |
21:45 |
|
JasonGreene[m] |
ok, it appears that the books are imported, and I can "click" on the batch links and see each book, however when I search for that title, it is not found. |
21:46 |
|
caroline |
something with indexing? are you using elasticsearch or zebra? |

Hurray for interpreted languages where you can just look up the source code on your system.. |
