04:55 LibraryHU[m] hello!
04:57 LibraryHU[m] can anyone tell me if there is any issue on oclc website to classify isb ? if i am trying to search details of any book, it does not show any result.
05:06 davidnind Library HU: it probably means they don't have a record in their database for it (assuming you are searching on https://www.worldcat.org/

07:08 LibraryHU[m] <davidnind> "Library HU: it probably means..." <- I know about the Worldcat. but there there is some issue on the part of OCLC. i have tired to get information of many books but it is not giving any information even not for those books that i already explored through OCLC
07:45 Zahid[m] is there any shorter way to exactly search from 260 $c tag in koha from opac / advance search ? we are using 260 $c for adding publication year
07:45 Zahid[m] we are not adding year in 008 tag right now? any guide will be helpful? or how can i change the code?

08:27 Pascal Good Morning :)
08:38 PriyanshuSoni[m] Good morning,
08:38 PriyanshuSoni[m] Can we enable a chatbot in koha opac using chatbot?
08:38 wahanui i guess Good morning, is it/should it be possible to add a guarantor to an existing patron, or is this forbidden by design? thx
08:47 magnuse PriyanshuSoni[m]: i don't think that is a feature "out of the box", but you could perhaps do something with some custom javascript
08:48 magnuse hm, looks like https://perldoc.koha-community.org/ is missing the newest versions, but still getting updated regularly
08:52 Oak joined #koha
09:19 Annelisterman[m] wahanui: it should be possible if the existing patron has a patron category that can be guarantee. Or you could change the category to one that can be guarantee.
09:19 wahanui Annelisterman[m]: i'm not following you...
09:26 * Annelisterman[m] uploaded an image: (29KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/med[…]HvdOnEb/image.png >
09:28 Annelisterman[m] If the patron has patron category that has "No" in that preference then you cannot add a guarantor

11:10 magnuse Annelisterman[m]: wahanui is a bot trying to be clever. you can (mostly) ignore what it says :-)
11:19 oleonard wahanui is not being a good chatbot example :D
11:26 oleonard Oh wow... The update_patrons_category cronjob seems to have decided that every one of our juvenile patrons is now an adult :(
12:08 cait hi PedroAmorim[m]
12:08 cait not sure I have the link on this computer - what's the issue?

12:16 PedroAmorim[m] it's complaining about a patrons_search test that I can't reproduce locally on 22.11.x (locally selenium tests pass)
12:16 PedroAmorim[m] cait: how critical is this
12:32 cait I can not really tell :(
12:34 cait Trying to have a look
12:35 cait hm nothing about patron search - looking in the wrong spot?

12:41 PedroAmorim[m] I must've been looking at the wrong spot, I never know where to look with Jenkins!

13:44 cait if you backproted something, that might be wrong
13:44 cait saying 25 instead of 23 because another patch added more?
13:46 PedroAmorim[m] yes, I understand what may cause it, I just don't understand how/why it doesn't fail when I run the tests locally

17:31 ju4nma hi web masters! I'm looking for some help
17:34 caroline ju4nma, what do you need help with?
17:46 ju4nma hi Caroline, I was wondering if it's possible to use Koha in a private work network
17:46 ju4nma But, the other computers has win 10 as OS
17:47 caroline I don't see why not... Only the server needs to be linux, user computers can use any OS
17:47 ju4nma Thanks Caroline! I will make my research, any question can I reach you?
17:48 caroline just ask on this channel or on the mailing list
17:48 caroline I might not be here, but other people can help you
17:48 ju4nma great! thank you very much
17:48 caroline good luck!
18:06 ju4nma anyone got this error trying to set up the server? systemctl restart networking.service "job for networking.service" failed because the control process exited with error?
18:16 tuxayo ju4nma: hi, that looks like a general error about setting up the network on the OS and likely not about. Are you following some documentation/guide? At which step does this happen?
18:21 ju4nma Hi tuxayo how are you? Thanks for helping me, i was following this tutorial  https://libpowertech.blogspot.[…]a-in-network.html
18:26 tuxayo ju4nma: "how are you" Just passing by ^^
18:26 tuxayo Ok so your tutorial seems to be non-koha specific network stuff. You might try to having another terminal with running this: journalctl -f and when you do the failing command, see what new stuff appears in the system logs.
18:28 tuxayo Otherwise a chat related to your Linux distribution (Debian or Ubuntu I guess) would have better knowledge about network setup than here.
18:30 khall joined #koha
18:37 ju4nma if i run journalctl -f it gives me some kind of log
18:37 ju4nma I just run it, close the terminal and then try again right?
18:43 ju4nma I found it Failed to star raise network services says the errorcode when i enter journalctl -f

19:02 Col Hello all. I was hoping to get some support on an issue we are having with Koha. Over the summer our school upgraded to Koha 22.11.04. We are running into an issue where the due date of all checkouts is automatically set to 11:59 pm that same day. As far as I can tell our circulation rules are correct. Anyone experience this before?
19:06 caroline do you have a hard due date in your circulation rules? Some schools use this
19:06 caroline if so you should change it at the new school year
19:07 ju4nma another question i revert the whole process for setting up the server, how can I start it with the common way?
19:08 Col Yes, the current hard due date is set to before 06/04/2024
19:08 ju4nma like, the standard way, 'cause i was reading the documentation but I didn't find the process of entering koha on a lan network
19:33 khall joined #koha
19:52 caroline Col, do you have more than one library? could one rule be different?
19:56 Col All the settings look the same between the two libraries. I just noticed that there might be an issue with the catalog. Many books have an invalid koha item type (not an authorized value). But this issue is also happening with books that have an item type listed in the circulation rules.
19:57 caroline and the patron categories are all valid also?
19:59 Col Yes, students look to be in the correct patron category.
20:00 Col But the circulation rules are for All Patron categorys
20:01 Col ies

20:41 cait Col: are your patrons expiring maybe?
20:41 cait sometimes the due date will be shortened if that's the case
20:42 cait also: closing days in the calendar
21:08 Col I think we are on to something with the patrons expiring. None of the patrons have an expiration date (autoc calc). The patron category Class of 2035 has an expiration of until 6/29/2035. I entered a expiration date under the patron details to match their patron category expiration, then checked out a book. Now the due date is following the circulation rules.
21:37 cait Col: that makes sense,
22:05 Col The librarian could not remember if they usually put in patron expiration prior to our latest upgrade. Does the patron category enrollment period have any impact on the patron exportation date? I was assuming it did. They are going through and batch updating the expiration dates for our patrons which will resolve the issue.
22:06 Col expiration date
22:06 wahanui expiration date is 'date'
22:10 cait It does, but it depends on how the patrons were added maybe
22:10 cait if you create manually it should calculate the expiration date from the category setting... also when using the patron import tool - I hope there is no bug there
22:14 Col We did a patron import right before the beginning of school and all those students did not have an expiration date, just a patron category assignment. I am not sure about manually created students. We will make it part of our process to assign an expiration during imports just to be safe.
22:19 davidnind There are a couple of bugs of signed off recently related to the patron import tool, not sure if they are related to your issue: bug 34617 and bug 34621
22:19 huginn Bug https://bugs.koha-community.or[…]_bug.cgi?id=34617 major, P5 - low, ---, nick, Signed Off , Patron expiration dates not updated during import when there is no dateexpiry column in the file
22:19 huginn Bug https://bugs.koha-community.or[…]_bug.cgi?id=34621 normal, P5 - low, ---, kyle, Signed Off , Patron import option to 'Renew existing patrons' 'from the current membership expiry date' not implemented
22:38 Col Appreciate all the support!
23:01 cait I think the first bug could be it, if you are on 23.05 at least
23:02 cait hm, but maybe it is in older versions too

23:17 tuxayo @later tell mtj on Bug 33009, which tool complains about the Standards-Version being too low? Litian? Some tool to make deb repos? (something Aptly)
23:17 huginn tuxayo: The operation succeeded.
