06:43 asgeirr Hi
06:44 asgeirr Is there any way I can set up Koha so that search for an ISBN _without_ seperators matches a record where ISBN is registered _with_ seperators?
06:45 asgeirr So, I have a MARC record has ISBN "978-1-84739-407-1" in 020, and I want to retrieve it by using a barcode scanner that enters "9781847394071"

07:41 drojf hi eythian and gaetan_B
07:41 drojf who is going to do an introduction to the french language before or at the hackfest btw?
07:42 drojf or is "bonjour" enough?
07:46 gaetan_B bonjour should be more than enough :)
07:46 gaetan_B "un pastis s'il vous plaît" might be helpful too ;)
07:47 eythian it was all s'il te plaît when I was there :)
07:47 eythian I learnt how to order lunch in french very quickly.
07:48 eythian (or is that a formal/informal distinction?)
07:48 eythian also, hi drojf and gaetan_B
07:49 gaetan_B yes it's more formal with "vous", i wouldn't order at a restaurant using "tu" but that's probably just me being a parisian snob
07:49 drojf lol
07:50 drojf i understand the pastis sentence. that means i am ready to go \o/

07:55 drojf that is the part i'd like to know ;)
07:56 Joubu in French "alcool neutre d'origine agricole"
07:57 drojf yep. could be anything

08:27 Joubu I don't really understand why everybody is asking about Elastic Search, but nobody wants to test the only feature ready to test on bugzilla...
08:27 drojf heh
08:28 drojf (for me it's no time :/ )
08:28 drojf i postpone everythingâ„¢ to the hackfest
08:28 Joubu I don't really understand why everybody is talking about Elastic Search but nobody wants to fix the ES issues, like a quite important one: the indexes are not present in the DB for new installs...
08:29 Joubu well, I guess people are expecting to me to fix them
08:30 drojf you can't fix and test and qa
08:30 drojf you should be cloned. that would solve everything
08:31 Joubu A funny fix would be to make it dependent on the feature :D

08:45 mtj hi #koha
08:46 mtj hey Joubu, i was testing 17196...
08:46 mtj ..i hit a little problem around editing/saving a bib
08:47 mtj other than that, it seems to be working really well :0)
08:48 Joubu mtj: what is the problem?
08:48 wahanui https://i.imgur.com/sguSwlh.jpg
08:49 mtj i used Marcel's  16733 patch to test the repo's koha-rebuild-zebra
08:50 mtj hmm, no saving functionality, when using the marc editor
08:52 Joubu @later tell rangi should not we move Koha/ElasticSearch/Indexer.pm to Koha/SearchEngine/Elasticsearch/ ?
08:52 huginn Joubu: The operation succeeded.
08:53 mtj the 'prove' tests all work, after the patchs are applied
08:54 mtj .. and i notice some of those ./t tests have ModBiblio() calls
08:55 eythian Joubu: that probably should be renamed, yeah
08:55 eythian moved, rather
08:55 eythian iirc it was just where it went to start with and it never got shifted.
08:56 Joubu eythian: ok thanks for the confirmation

09:42 Joubu eythian: our QA script raises a spelling error: Sheat  ==> Sheath, sheet, cheat ;)
09:43 Joubu eythian: do you know what is the correct spelling for ES? ElasticSearch or Elasticsearch?
09:43 Joubu it seems that elastic.co uses Elasticsearch
09:44 Joubu but Catmandu uses ElasticSearch
09:45 eythian Used to be ES, now it's Es I think
09:45 eythian Joubu: your script needs some QA :)
09:46 eythian PAUSE doesn't handle changing capitalisation well at all too, I think they tried to rename it but it caused problems, or something along those lines
10:02 mtj hiya eythian, hope you are doing well over there :)

10:16 Joubu eythian: could I get your opinion on bug 5670 comment 66?

10:19 mtj eythian: same old, same old, back here in wgtn... including the weather :p
10:19 eythian I tend to go for normalisation, keeping fairly separate concerns in separate places.
10:20 eythian mtj: heh, I think summer is about to run out here too, though it's been unseasonably warm this month so far.
10:20 Joubu eythian: yep same for me, thanks (again)

10:21 drojf is there a secret place to set up actual classifications in koha that i am missing? or can i just enter names for classifications and filing rules, but not define anything?
10:23 drojf i remember diving into some file that probably was DDC and had mappings. but that was years ago and would have required hacking your own file back then. at least as i understood it

13:40 tcohen kohadevbox takes care of having ES available, and the relevant entry in koha-conf.xml

14:57 Joubu so I think there is something wrong with controlfield management, but not sure at which level
14:58 eythian hmm, it might be that control fields were/are being ignored either on the way in or the way out.
14:59 eythian or the marc json format has 5 fields anyway for them.
14:59 eythian It's possible that control fields weren't supported when I wrote that.

15:53 lcg hi there, does anyone know where to locate specific information about import errors when staging a MARC file for import?
15:54 lcg i staged a file with around 7500 records, but 5 were dropped due to a MARC error. I suspect there are tags in those records which aren't used in the default framework, but I have no idea which of the 5 records are the problem
