Hi guys, trying to import biblio records from spreedsheet to koha via marc edit.. here is a copy of the spreedsheet https://docs.google.com/file/d[…]k1TY2c/edit?pli=1 I have mapped each columns to the relevant marc tags and also have columns for koha holding tags in 952 |

however after mapping and importing the marcedit generated mrc file to koha. I noticed all the items have multiple holdings (8 holdings to be exact) I don't know what I am doing wrong :/ |

bigbrovar_: without looking at your file: all 952 subfields per item need to be on one line, or you will get one item per line. that is usually the problem in this case |

you need to have exactly one 952 for each item that you want to inport. 952$asomething$bsomething$csomething will lead to one item. 952$asomething 952$bsomething 952$csomething will lead to three items being imported |

from what I think u are saying, I have to enter the 952 subfields directly into the spreedsheet.. instead of entering the values in different collumns and then mapping the collumns to the appropriate subfield using marcedit which is what am doing |

i wrote a perl script to import our data, because i had to take care of a lot of crazy things from the old database. in only ran the output through marcedit once to check it is valid and compile it into mrc. |

bigbrovar_: you cannot use it. it was for a custom filemaker database with no relation to marc (or common sense). it would make no sense, you would have to change more than you use. and besides that, i started learning perl witch that thing, it is ridiculously bad and full of errors |
