05:41 dcook Argh stuck in a database upgrade loop. I've had this happen before...
05:41 dcook Me thinks perhaps a caching issue...
05:42 calire hi dcook
05:42 dcook Hmm needed to restart Plack

09:00 cait no problem - i forgot the candy too :)
09:06 magnuse oops, http://lists.koha-community.org has some problems with HTTPS. all internal links are https, but https does not work
10:08 kohaputti The HTTP git protocol seems to be down again for git.koha-community.org. Git protocol works so it's fine
10:23 calire does anyone know what the rest api url is for kohadevbox?
10:31 kohaputti calire, /api/v1/
10:33 calire thanks kohaputti
10:34 kohaputti and /api/v1/doc should give you documentation
10:34 kohaputti for me it didn't work, though. I mean it loaded the page but it was broken
10:36 calire I'm trying on devbox but I just get not found at the moment

10:38 calire for infinte patience
10:42 skimsk hi all! could anyone help me to automate my koha-backups. I have bash-script that works fine from command line, but when ran from cron it returns this error: "/usr/sbin/koha-run-backups: 58: /usr/sbin/koha-run-backups: koha-list: not found" what to do to fix this?
10:43 skimsk in my script "/usr/sbin/koha-run-backups LIBRARYNAME" is the command that produces the error.
10:54 kohaputti calire, I tested on the intranet domain, try it if you are using opac doman
10:55 kohaputti but I would assume it is also enabled for opac
11:40 calire kohaputti I have tried with both and got the same result
11:42 kohaputti calire, hmm, I'm actually using plack and I don't think it was enabled out of the box for devbox, try enabling it?
11:42 calire enabling plack?
11:42 kohaputti calire, maybe the koha error logs tell you what is the problem
11:42 kohaputti calire, yes
11:42 calire plack is running

13:11 caroline good morning!
13:23 caroline Can I ask about the philosophy/history of the item statuses in Koha? Why are withdrawn, lost, damaged and not for loan statuses separated?
13:29 ashimema sorry kidclamp
13:29 Joubu caroline: because an item can be damaged and lost? Also I guess it's to map each of them to an authorised value category, and a MARC field
13:29 ashimema what's the apology about?
13:29 ashimema
13:30 * ashimema totally misread.. 'worry' vs 'sorry'
13:30 ashimema my bad
13:30 caroline Joubu: if it's lost, what does it matter that it's damaged?
13:30 caroline And some other combinations don't make sense. Withdrawn 1; Not for loan 0 means that its withdrawn, but also avilable
13:31 caroline Or lost 1 and withdraw 1 ??
13:35 nuentoter morning all
13:40 nuentoter caroline: in our library we have a book and dvd repair area, if a dvd is scratched we will mark it as damaged but available. meaning it is still available to borrow just give us 5 minutes if you want it right now. same with damaged books, we have, it and it's available, just give us a bit of time.
13:44 caroline nuentoter: I understand, bug 13658 kind of illustrates this problem
13:44 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13658 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, oleonard, NEW , Show 'damaged' items as available in OPAC XSLT result list
13:45 caroline so you can circulate damaged items, good for you, but would you circulate lost or withdrawn items? It makes 0 sense to me

13:50 caroline eythian: lol!
13:51 caroline It's probably because of that 1 library that Koha is like that
13:58 Joubu eythian: did you see the funny "fixme" wahanui's bug last week?
13:58 Joubu eythian: http://irc.koha-community.org/koha/2018-10-12#i_2082505 # quits have not been logged, but there are the joins

14:20 eythian Joubu: haha
14:20 eythian ah, I guess search is broken, because I think that's an infobot command
14:20 eythian wahanui: search for foo
14:23 ashimema Mmm, I don't know the answer I'm afraid Joubu.
14:25 ashimema I'll try and have another think about it this evening
14:27 Joubu ashimema: basically the problem is: we do not want to insert "" or invalid date to attribute that must be date or integer. We 0, "", undef must be taken into account. And also default value defined at DB level.
14:27 Joubu it's either we do the test when creating the object, controller-side, which will be very hard to write and maintain (and buggy). We will need to be exhaustive
14:28 Joubu or... on storing, what I am doing, and what we actually doing already for some objects

15:34 dersmon hi!
15:34 dersmon when configuring postfix for email, is koha able to use different emails as specified in the user patron configuration?
15:35 cait ?
15:35 cait koha will send the email to the address you want - there is a preference to set which one to use
15:35 dersmon i think i could configure that in postfix, but is koha able to use different accounts? or is every email supposed to be sent from koha using the same email address?
15:35 dersmon ah ok
15:35 cait it has a setting 'first vlaid' too
15:35 cait 'first valid'
15:36 cait and as the sender it mostly uses the email from the library
15:36 cait in some cases the kohaadminemailaddress from the preferences
15:38 dersmon ah ok the library's address
15:38 dersmon thx
16:09 caroline In Tools > Stage MARC records for import > Look for existing records in catalog? > Action if no match is found, there is an option that says "Ignore incoming records (its items may still be processed). Is the items part a typo? If you have no matching record in your catalog and ignore the incoming record, where would the items go?
16:13 caroline There's another similar option in "How to process items": Add items only if no matching bib was found
16:23 CrispyBran @seen oleonard
16:23 huginn CrispyBran: oleonard was last seen in #koha 1 day, 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 40 seconds ago: <oleonard> Okay thanks, it's working now

16:29 mtompset You still around, CrispyBran?
16:50 Joubu caroline: that sounds wrong instead, did you try?
16:52 caroline Joubu: No, I wanted to know if there was code at the back of this to support what is written. But I can try it (not now, eventually)
16:53 caroline There's also a third discrepancy in the items section. You can choose to process items (yes or no radio buttons), but you can also choose to "ignore items" in the drop down...
16:53 corilynn mtompset, did you see my notes on bug 17650? I'd be happy to attempt a signoff if you make some test steps

16:53 caroline I'll try it and write a bug report to redo this page, sometime in the near future
16:54 caroline I'm revising my training materials, so I'm finding things that don't make sense...
16:56 Joubu caroline: reading the code the items are attached to... an existing record, so I am expecting this option to explode
16:57 Joubu but I guess I am missing something, the code is not clear enough :)
16:58 mtompset caroline, not my bug... just my rescue.
16:58 corilynn you mean, corilynn :)
16:59 Joubu I am not sure I am reading the right part of the code anyway...
16:59 mtompset Oops... car cor... what are vowels? DOH!
16:59 corilynn but do you know what this even does, mtompset?
17:03 mtompset "Save the covers on the the hard disk instead of the database."
17:03 mtompset I'm assuming you can save local covers in the DB.
17:03 mtompset This lets you put the covers on the koha server file system.
17:04 corilynn mm k
17:04 mtompset That's my guess.
17:04 mtompset But ... Actually, now that I read the code more... need to Fail QA it.
17:04 mtompset doesn't use tmp_path from the koha-conf xml file.
