01:53 mtj great post eythian :)
06:42 mtj hey #koha, does anyone have a clue about this error...
06:42 mtj root@kohadevbox:~# koha-shell -c ' perl /usr/share/koha/bin/maintenance/borrowers-force-messaging-defaults --doit --truncate ' kohadev
06:42 mtj DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Cannot truncate a table referenced in a foreign key constraint (`koha_kohadev`.`borrower_message_transport_preferences`, CONSTRAINT `borrower_message_transport_preferences_ibfk_1` FOREIGN KEY (`borrower_message_preference_id`) REFERENCES `koha_kohadev`.`bo) [for Statement "TRUNCATE borrower_message_preferences"] at /usr/share/koha/bin/maintenance/borrowers-force-messaging-defaults line 52.
06:44 mtj ..its a bit odd really - the script used to work just fine, since 3.22.x
06:44 mtj its failling on 16.5.9 now, and master
06:48 mtj none of the schema files seem to have been updated recently
06:49 mtj is it some new SQL behaviour in a recent version of mysql perhaps?
06:50 mtj i tried to manually fix it..
06:51 mtj             SET foreign_key_checks = 0;
06:51 mtj             ALTER TABLE   borrower_message_transport_preferences  AUTO_INCREMENT = 1;
06:51 mtj             ALTER TABLE   borrower_message_preferences  AUTO_INCREMENT = 1;
06:51 mtj             truncate  borrower_message_preferences;
06:51 mtj             truncate  borrower_message_transport_preferences;
06:51 mtj .
06:51 mtj ..then re-ran the script, but still the same error/result :/
06:56 mtj aah, ignore the ALTER lines, they are not needed
07:03 LibraryClaire morning #koha
07:04 mtj hmm, it seems like the --truncate option will never work

08:11 mtj fyi, my real problem before was caused by my borrower records having a NULL 'enrolledate' value

11:04 LibraryClaire hi AndrewIsh ^^
11:05 AndrewIsh Hi LibraryClaire
11:05 AndrewIsh Got a weird problem and I'm not sure if it's Devbox related or something else. I'm doing some testing of something and, as part of the testing, I'm dropping the koha_kohadev db, creating it, granting the koha_kohadev user all privileges on it. Then I go to the installer page, and run through that though, weirdly, it doesn't offer to populate any sample data. Anyway, once it's done, all the tables appear to be created, but they're empty. Even tables like
11:05 AndrewIsh permissions! :-/ Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
11:10 AndrewIsh It feels like the installer thinks it's doing an update rather than a fresh db install, which would explain why no data is being populated
11:11 kidclamp AndrewIsh, try doing a 'restart_all' after dumping db and before running installer
11:12 AndrewIsh kidclamp: Ah, OK, will do, thanks :)
11:16 AndrewIsh kidclamp: The 'restart_all' alias doesn't appear to exist any more
11:16 kidclamp I think memcached and plack should do ti then
11:17 AndrewIsh kidclamp: I'll try and track down what it did and replicate it
11:17 kidclamp it restarted memcache, apache, plack
11:17 AndrewIsh kidclamp: OK, cool, I'll do that
11:21 AndrewIsh kidclamp: That was it! Excellent, installed perfectly. *Many* thanks :)

12:48 magnuse ¡olé o'nard!
12:48 magnuse tcohen: motning to you too!
12:49 lari ashimema: tcohen: hi! morning! have you tried Mojolicious::Plugin::OpenAPI with Koha yet, or thought of migrating at some point?
12:49 ashimema I've just migrated my other app from Swagger to OpenAPI.. and suggest we do the same
12:50 ashimema but I have other things that are higher up my list to work on first.. OAuth/Token based auth being one of them.
12:51 tcohen lari, I haven't
12:51 tcohen and is a good time to try it
12:51 magnuse gah tfw the same code does different things on different machines
12:52 lari ashimema: nice! how did it go?
12:52 lari tcohen: i agree :)
12:52 * ashimema has commit bit on ::OpenAPI too.. we've officially deprecated ::Swagger2 and taken what we've learnt and applied the good bits to OpenAPI.. (I say we, batman has done all the work ;) )
12:53 ashimema It went well.. was a fairly painless piece for us (we converted 36 controllers.. lots of routes)
12:53 ashimema it's a 'much more Mojo' way of doing things
12:54 ashimema wat up magnuse?
12:56 magnuse ashimema: just trying to get some records with Catmandu::IMporter::SRU and now it works fine on my laptop but not the server
12:57 ashimema good luck
12:59 magnuse thanks
12:59 drojf magnuse: same catmandu version? they change quite a bit
12:59 magnuse yeah, that might be the problem
13:00 magnuse my laptop says "Catmandu::Importer::SRU is up to date (undef)"
13:01 magnuse the server says it installs NICS/Catmandu-SRU-0.0101.tar.gz
13:01 magnuse but if i try to install once more it says it installed it again, not "this module is already uptodate"
13:01 magnuse weird
13:02 drojf and catmandu itself? the main module?
13:02 drojf there is often new stuff that does not work in older versions. especially in the one that comes with debian
13:06 magnuse version 1.0305 of catmandu in both places now, same result
13:10 drojf could be any of the one million dependencies too :P
13:11 drojf i remember building the SRU module was annoying
13:13 magnuse yay, looks like "sudo cpan N/NI/NICS/Catmandu-SRU-0.039.tar.gz" fixed it on the server
13:14 magnuse looks like some problem with the version number, making it stuck at 0.0101
13:14 magnuse drojf++ for nudging in the right direction
13:14 drojf yay i'm useful
13:17 marcelr jajm: updated the second patch on 16018; thanks
13:28 pug Hi guys.. Im signing in after quite some time
13:30 pug Any of you guys know if the SIP2 server of the current build 'works'? Meaning, the SIP2 functionality is complete and is largely bugfree
13:31 oleonard pug I think you should define what you mean by "current build" just to be precise.
13:32 pug I mean 16.05.xx.xx
13:33 tcohen pug: I haven't seen major issues on bugzilla
13:33 tcohen but I don't use it
13:33 kidclamp we have many partners using SIP
13:33 kidclamp it works well, but are you looking for something specific?
13:34 pug Ok. Thanks. Thats good to know. Are there known deployments of SIP2 clients using the koha's SIP2 server?
13:34 pug @kidclamp -- thats great to know
13:34 huginn pug: I'll give you the answer as soon as RDA is ready
13:35 pug We have deployed Koha for a customer- and are now evaluating a SIP2 client from Ceridwen (UK) --
13:36 pug So largely speaking I got my answer-- the SIP2 server works and we should go ahead.
13:36 pug Any suggestion on opensource SIP2 clients that work with Koha SIP server?
13:37 pug @kidclamp- which sip client do your partners use?
13:37 huginn pug: I'll give you the answer just as soon as RDA is ready
13:38 edveal Greetings
13:42 pug huginn: Is this topic linked to RDA? And by RDA you mean Resource Description and Access
13:42 huginn pug: I'll give you the answer just as soon as RDA is ready
13:43 pug kidclamp: waiting for your answer on above.
13:43 magnuse pug: huginn is a stupid bot, just ignore it :-)
13:43 magnuse well, it is trying to be clever, but does not always succeed
13:44 magnuse huginn botsnack fenalår
13:44 huginn magnuse: I'll give you the answer just as soon as RDA is ready
13:44 pug magnuse: thanks.. I realized when he said the same thing the 3rd time! lol
13:44 magnuse :-)
13:45 kidclamp pug: most of our clients are using sip machines from thrid party vendors
13:45 kidclamp or libki
13:58 pug kidclamp: Thats very useful to know. So libki client reliably works with Koha, right?
13:59 pug We are looking for a software only opensource sip2 client that would work reliably with Koha SIP server..
14:00 kidclamp yes, libki works with koha: http://libki.org/
14:04 AndrewIsh Does anyone happen to know if there's an existing "Koha" way of replicating this layout of data: http://imgur.com/DW6p8Tl It's currently using <fieldset> but, not being in a form, that is not correct. I'm struggling to find an existing example I can refer to.
14:05 oleonard AndrewIsh: You can use <div class="rows"> the same way you use <fieldset class="rows">
14:06 oleonard And <span class="label"> instead of <label>
14:06 AndrewIsh oleonard: Ahaa, I didn't realise that, that sounds perfect. Thanks very much :)
14:07 marcelr jajm: shall i moev 16018 to enhancement now?
14:08 marcelr o it is already
14:12 jajm marcelr, i'm not sure to understand the history of this bug, did it fixed something at first that has been fixed by another bug later... or something like that ?
14:34 mtompset Greetings, #koha.

14:37 mtompset @later tell cait I don't understand why you consider bug 17824 an enhancement. The function isn't used in 16.11.x either. This isn't adding new functionality. It is removing unused functionality. The former, I get not backporting. The latter, I don't see why not.
14:37 huginn mtompset: The operation succeeded.
14:38 magnuse bug 17824

14:40 mtompset Right, magnuse? :)
14:40 * magnuse has not looked at it
14:40 mtompset I thought you typed that so you could get the click through to follow and look. :)
14:41 mtompset druthb: I'd pass you a Pepsi Max, but I don't know if you are into that.
14:42 * druthb will take it.
14:43 magnuse mtompset: just curious about what the bug was about... :-)
14:43 * mtompset virtually tosses Ruth a Pepsi Max. :)
14:44 * druthb catches it carefully, and puts it on her desk to sit a bit, since mtompset thoughtlessly shook it up.
14:45 mtompset There was no shake up, just a toss. :P
14:45 Joubu mtompset: those kind of patches are considered as enh as they do not fix any bugs
14:45 Joubu and it will not bring anything to backport them
14:47 cait exactly what Joubu said
14:48 magnuse huh, why would this happen at more or less random times? "20170129 06:31:06 xyz-koha-zebra: client (pid 6292) killed by signal 15, stopping" it has happened 3 times since 2016-12-19, each time some number of minutes past 6 am
14:48 cait no win for the stable release, only a risk
14:48 cait i woudl reconsider backporting it it conflicts with a bug i need to push
14:48 magnuse mtompset: any particular reason you want it backported?
14:49 mtompset It was just one of the bugs I was cleaning up on my VM.
14:49 mtompset Thought I would ask.
14:52 pastebot "tcohen" at 172.22.66.163 pasted "kivilathio: I'm testing 17255 and get this when searching" (1 line) at http://paste.koha-community.org/302
15:45 CrispyBran Anyone here know how to get the kohadevbox indexing to update so my imported records will come up in a search?
15:47 CrispyBran tried "sudo perl misc4dev/cp_debian_files.pl" and "sudo service koha-common restart", but no change.
15:48 mtompset Did you stop zebra, run the reindex, and restart zebra -- stopping and starting plack and memcached just in case the evil evil caching is affecting things?
15:49 CrispyBran I have no idea how to do any of that. I'm going off recommendations after following the installation instructions.
15:50 CrispyBran Linux is not my native environment.
15:51 mtompset Hmm...
15:52 mtompset Just a second... I'm trying to figure it out myself.

15:56 CrispyBran I blended two lines. Whoops.
15:56 mtompset That's fine.
15:57 mtompset reindex, start it up, and kick it hard.

16:00 CrispyBran I only have one
16:00 mtompset You're not accidentally pointed to some other internet one that you might have that you faked the name locally somehow?

16:43 pug libki does not seem to support circulation. Theres another one called Ceridwen, but it hasnt been tested/deployed with Koha.
16:43 tcohen waht?
16:43 wahanui waht is my error message?
16:44 oleonard pug: True, libki is not self-checkout software. Koha comes with its own self-checkout module which doesn't run over SIP2
16:46 kidclamp yeah pug - I wasn't sure what you were asking but didn't think libki was the answer
16:59 mtompset Okay, I know it would really slow down testing, but why are C4 and Koha excluded from the 00-strict.t testing?
17:03 cait maybe too many problems?
17:04 tcohen useless
17:04 mtompset elaborate.
17:05 tcohen is anyone working on making the codebase pass strictness tests?
17:05 tcohen the answer is no
17:05 tcohen the QA team is enforcing code quality
17:05 tcohen on new commits
17:06 tcohen and that is checked by the QA tools
17:06 tcohen which passing is mandatory for inclusion
17:06 tcohen so
17:06 tcohen we still have lots of pieces of code that don't pass
17:06 mtompset So what cait said. :)
17:07 tcohen and it won't help us having the tests fail because of that
17:07 tcohen yeah
17:07 tcohen basically
17:07 wahanui hmmm... basically is all but closed/wontfix/invalid
17:07 tcohen we already do the checks we need on QA
17:07 mtompset True, so the new stuff should be good.
17:07 mtompset Well, passable. :)
17:17 CrispyBran mtompset, not sure what happened. My bib records I had imported the other day, which I could not get to come up in the catalog, were suddenly gone today. So I imported them again, and now they are coming up in the catalog! Thanks for your help.
17:18 mtompset You're welcome.
17:18 oleonard CrispyBran: Did you destroy your box at the end of the day? That would've nuked your db.
17:18 mtompset Oooo... good point, oleonard
17:19 CrispyBran I don't even know how to do that.
17:19 mtompset vagrant destroy loses the DB. :)
17:19 CrispyBran nope
17:19 mtompset You want to vagrant halt at the end of the day. :)
17:19 oleonard are halt and suspend different?
17:19 CrispyBran I ALWAYS use halt
17:37 mtompset Seems slightly different, oleonard. https://www.vagrantup.com/docs/cli/suspend.html
17:37 mtompset https://www.vagrantup.com/docs/cli/halt.html
17:37 mtompset If you want to test, for example, AUTO_INCREMENT bugs, you'll want to use halt. ;)

20:24 mtompset well git pull interrupted.
20:24 mtompset and now failure.

20:26 eythian that's a new one for me. I'd google the text parts. the nuclear solution is to delete and reclone.
20:26 mtompset Noooooo... cloning takes 3 hours.
20:32 wizzycray mtompset, shallow clone?
20:33 eythian I bet there's a way to fix up git. I just don't know what it is (and have homework to do right now so can't look it up.)
20:33 wizzycray homework!
20:34 eythian class at 8am tomorrow
20:34 wizzycray mtompset, do you have enough disk space?
20:34 mtompset Bah! I'll nuke it.
20:34 wizzycray what the hey hey eythian what are you studying?
20:34 eythian dutch
20:34 wizzycray oooo
20:35 mtompset hmm... enough diskspace, that's a good question, but I am pretty sure you can simulate my problem by pressing CTRL-BREAK before your git pull finishes. :)
20:35 eythian git fsck
20:35 wizzycray ^
20:36 wizzycray devboxes have been pretty notorious lately for not having enough disk space for many branches - but maybe you're not using a devbox.
20:39 wizzycray (but git fsck doesn't have anything to do really with not having enough disk space)

21:30 andreashm and others
21:32 alexbuckley hi cait
21:33 andreashm items in staged marc imports, what are they matched on? barcode only, or more?
21:35 cait hm i thought itemnumber too
21:36 andreashm yeah that makes sense
21:36 andreashm also, is there anyone else around that matches records on 035a (rather than 001 for example)? Or would like to?
21:39 cait hm we might have to start doing that for authorities i think
21:40 cait marcel's recent work enforces 001 to be Koha's number

21:48 andreashm cait: enforces 001 to be Koha's number?
21:48 andreashm and what work is that?
21:48 aleisha :) cait
21:49 cait andreashm: for authorities
21:49 andreashm cait: another Swedish library is looking at enhancing matching. allowing for a match check as follows: 001/003 --> 035a, followed by 035a --> 035a.
21:49 andreashm cait: ah, authorities!
21:49 cait hm we'd need to be able to specify the prefix
21:50 andreashm glad I never have to deal with those. =)
21:50 cait as 001 doesn't have it, but multiple 035 could match
21:50 cait if you can't limit it to a specific one
21:50 andreashm that would be 003 I think
21:50 cait ah yep, you are right
21:51 andreashm for once, woho! =)

22:26 mtompset it didn't solve it.

23:44 mtompset (the ones you added)
23:45 mtompset ii libparallel-forkmanager-perl 1.06-1 all simple parallel processing fork manager for Perl
23:46 mtompset ii libsys-cpu-perl 0.61-1+b1 amd64 module for getting CPU information
23:47 mtompset I have a i7-3770 which is 2 cores 4 threads each.
23:47 mtompset But I have my VM set to just 1/1
23:47 mtompset That's an idea. Change that for me. :)
23:47 mtompset I'll reboot it with more cpus. :)
23:48 mtompset Bumped it up to "4". :)
23:49 mtompset Wow this is running faster. :)
23:53 mtompset There's still the same error.
23:53 mtompset But it is more pronounced, because it was WAY! faster.
23:53 mtj i have the same versions ^
23:58 mtompset Nice... under 3 minutes. :)
23:58 mtompset But still same failure.
23:59 mtj i bet if you ran it on a kohadevbox it would work
23:59 mtompset I'm waiting for my kohadevbox to come up.
23:59 mtompset Jessie.
23:59 mtompset I suppose I could try xenial.
