03:17 dcook The world is a strange place
03:27 wizzyrea lol why
03:29 dcook Babymetal just in general :p
03:30 dcook And really just everything :p

06:38 reiveune hello
06:38 wahanui hola, reiveune

06:43 asgeirr Hi
06:44 asgeirr Is there any way I can set up Koha so that search for an ISBN _without_ seperators matches a record where ISBN is registered _with_ seperators?
06:45 asgeirr So, I have a MARC record has ISBN "978-1-84739-407-1" in 020, and I want to retrieve it by using a barcode scanner that enters "9781847394071"
06:50 dcook asgeirr: I imagine so
06:50 dcook Does that not happen aleady?
06:50 dcook Also, where are you searching?
07:01 Joubu @later tell khall i've just seen your entry in the hk16 topics. Could you please try to provide a complete example of React before the hk?
07:01 huginn Joubu: The operation succeeded.
07:04 asgeirr dcook: Free text catalogue search in staff interface. Also qualified search 'nb:9781847394071' or advanced search with '9781847394071' in ISBN field misses
07:07 drojf morning #koha
07:13 dcook asgeirr: That's interesting
07:13 dcook You should ask again now and in a few more minutes as more Europeans come online :)
07:13 dcook Here in Australia, it's time for me to head hooome
07:14 drojf the question i'd like to be asked is "would you like some coffee"
07:14 drojf i hope it was about that
07:22 dcook hehe
07:22 dcook I always forget to offer as I don't drink coffee O_O
07:23 eythian @later tell wizzyrea so, like, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AMzzJ5mk7w&list=PLaCaG8uHZSirOrBnNYdaU8TLHxN3aXfxH
07:23 huginn eythian: The operation succeeded.
07:24 * dcook waves to eythian
07:24 dcook And I'm off
07:24 eythian hi dcook
07:24 eythian bye dcook
07:35 gaetan_B hello
07:41 drojf hi eythian and gaetan_B
07:41 drojf who is going to do an introduction to the french language before or at the hackfest btw?
07:42 drojf or is "bonjour" enough?
07:46 gaetan_B bonjour should be more than enough :)
07:46 gaetan_B "un pastis s'il vous plaît" might be helpful too ;)
07:47 eythian it was all s'il te plaît when I was there :)
07:47 eythian I learnt how to order lunch in french very quickly.
07:48 eythian (or is that a formal/informal distinction?)
07:48 eythian also, hi drojf and gaetan_B
07:49 gaetan_B yes it's more formal with "vous", i wouldn't order at a restaurant using "tu" but that's probably just me being a parisian snob
07:49 drojf lol
07:50 drojf i understand the pastis sentence. that means i am ready to go \o/
07:50 drojf [off] hm i should learn all the words for stuff i am allergic to. or learn the few ones i am not allergic to
07:51 Joubu s/pastis/verre de vin blanc
07:51 Joubu drojf: for you
07:51 drojf thanks :D i still try to figure out what alcohol base is used for pastis
07:53 Joubu drojf: wikipedia? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastis#Composition
07:54 drojf "base alcohol" could be anything
07:55 drojf that is the part i'd like to know ;)
07:56 drojf [off] because i avoid grain based spirits. but that is the most common one. could be wine/grapes too, but nobody knows. at least i could not find it
07:56 Joubu in French "alcool neutre d'origine agricole"
07:57 drojf yep. could be anything
07:57 Joubu which would mean something like "neutral alcohol from agricultur"
07:57 drojf yes
07:57 Joubu yes :)
07:57 eythian wahanui: crash is <reply>https://media.giphy.com/media/l0HlG6zjh6St5vNoQ/giphy.gif
07:57 wahanui OK, eythian.
07:57 drojf i think i asked the german importer about it and never got an answer
07:57 drojf or i was just planning to
07:57 drojf lol
07:58 drojf [off] it was the same with tsipouro and ouzo. ouzo can be anything, tsipouro is grape based.
08:00 drojf [off] yes, i like my drinking complicated :P
08:27 Joubu I don't really understand why everybody is asking about Elastic Search, but nobody wants to test the only feature ready to test on bugzilla...
08:27 drojf heh
08:28 drojf (for me it's no time :/ )
08:28 drojf i postpone everythingâ„¢ to the hackfest
08:28 Joubu I don't really understand why everybody is talking about Elastic Search but nobody wants to fix the ES issues, like a quite important one: the indexes are not present in the DB for new installs...
08:29 Joubu well, I guess people are expecting to me to fix them
08:30 drojf you can't fix and test and qa
08:30 drojf you should be cloned. that would solve everything
08:31 Joubu A funny fix would be to make it dependent on the feature :D
08:45 mtj hi #koha
08:46 mtj hey Joubu, i was testing 17196...
08:46 mtj ..i hit a little problem around editing/saving a bib
08:47 mtj other than that, it seems to be working really well :0)
08:48 Joubu mtj: what is the problem?
08:48 wahanui https://i.imgur.com/sguSwlh.jpg
08:49 mtj i used Marcel's 16733 patch to test the repo's koha-rebuild-zebra
08:50 mtj hmm, no saving functionality, when using the marc editor
08:52 Joubu @later tell rangi should not we move Koha/ElasticSearch/Indexer.pm to Koha/SearchEngine/Elasticsearch/ ?
08:52 huginn Joubu: The operation succeeded.
08:53 mtj the 'prove' tests all work, after the patchs are applied
08:54 mtj .. and i notice some of those ./t tests have ModBiblio() calls
08:55 eythian Joubu: that probably should be renamed, yeah
08:55 eythian moved, rather
08:55 eythian iirc it was just where it went to start with and it never got shifted.
08:56 Joubu eythian: ok thanks for the confirmation
08:57 Joubu mtj: do you get DBIx::Class::Schema::source(): Can't find source for BiblioMetadata at Koha/Objects.pm line 266?
08:57 Joubu you need to rebuild the schema files
09:12 mtj Joubu, yeah, i have already done that step
09:13 mtj np, i will add my info to the BZ
09:42 Joubu eythian: our QA script raises a spelling error: Sheat ==> Sheath, sheet, cheat ;)
09:43 Joubu eythian: do you know what is the correct spelling for ES? ElasticSearch or Elasticsearch?
09:43 Joubu it seems that elastic.co uses Elasticsearch
09:44 Joubu but Catmandu uses ElasticSearch
09:45 eythian Used to be ES, now it's Es I think
09:45 eythian Joubu: your script needs some QA :)
09:46 eythian PAUSE doesn't handle changing capitalisation well at all too, I think they tried to rename it but it caused problems, or something along those lines
10:02 mtj hiya eythian, hope you are doing well over there :)
10:03 eythian Hi mtj. Yeah, it's good here :)
10:16 Joubu eythian: could I get your opinion on bug 5670 comment 66?
10:16 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5670 new feature, P5 - low, ---, alex.sassmannshausen, Signed Off , Housebound Readers Module
10:17 Joubu additional almost always null columns vs DB schema normalisation
10:19 mtj eythian: same old, same old, back here in wgtn... including the weather :p
10:19 eythian I tend to go for normalisation, keeping fairly separate concerns in separate places.
10:20 eythian mtj: heh, I think summer is about to run out here too, though it's been unseasonably warm this month so far.
10:20 Joubu eythian: yep same for me, thanks (again)
10:20 eythian NP :)
10:21 drojf is there a secret place to set up actual classifications in koha that i am missing? or can i just enter names for classifications and filing rules, but not define anything?
10:23 drojf i remember diving into some file that probably was DDC and had mappings. but that was years ago and would have required hacking your own file back then. at least as i understood it
10:23 drojf so i wonder if i miss something obvious ;)
10:44 mtj peeps, im off to bed
10:44 mtj Joubu: i left some info on the marcxml bug, hope it makes sense
10:49 Joubu mtj: thx

12:00 oleonard Oh this is new. Someone put in the phone number field of this patron record: "phonenumber"
12:01 drojf makes sense
12:02 oleonard That's even better than my previous favorite: "Same as above." Like, you have just typed more characters than you would have if you'd just Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V from above.
12:03 drojf lol

12:20 rsantellan good morning #koha
12:40 Joubu rsantellan: Hi! Are you still looking at ES patches to test? :)
12:41 Joubu tcohen: hi!
12:41 Joubu Does ES work with kohadevbox?
12:41 rsantellan Joubu: yes, I have working now with 1.7 but 2.4 is a welcome change
12:42 Joubu rsantellan: bug 14899 is waiting for testers for months. If you are willing to test it, you are more than welcome :)
12:42 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14899 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, jonathan.druart, Needs Signoff , Mapping configuration page for Elastic search
12:47 rsantellan Joubu: I will try to check it out, did I need to install another dependencies?
12:48 Joubu rsantellan: you will need to apply the patches from bugs listed in the "depends on" field
12:50 rsantellan okay
13:37 tcohen morning
13:38 tcohen Joubu: hehe
13:38 Joubu Does ES work with kohadevbox?
13:39 tcohen it should
13:40 Joubu tcohen: I really don't know how it could actually
13:40 Joubu I have just fixed the installer issue this morning
13:40 tcohen kohadevbox takes care of having ES available, and the relevant entry in koha-conf.xml
13:41 tcohen if it doesn't work, it wouldn't be a kohadevbox specific issue IMHO
13:41 Joubu ok but the mapping tables are empty
13:41 Joubu so no reindexing and not search
13:41 tcohen so it should work with that patch :-D
13:42 tcohen Joubu: would you agre with something like this?
13:42 tcohen OPACProto :// OPACBaseURL / OPACBasePath
13:42 tcohen and the same for intranet
13:42 Joubu      basepath==/cgi-bin/koha?
13:42 tcohen yeah
13:42 tcohen pick a beter name he
13:42 tcohen it would default to cgi-bin/koha
13:43 Joubu context? :)
13:43 tcohen but I'm sick of this problems we have
13:43 tcohen hardcoding cgi-bin/koha everywhere
13:43 tcohen otherwise having problems under plack
13:43 Joubu I don't have such problems under plack :)
13:44 tcohen http://bmayor.biblio.unc.edu.ar/cgi-bin/koha/oai.pl?verb=Identify
13:44 tcohen look at the links
13:44 tcohen I'm sure you have that problem
13:45 Joubu What am I suppose to have wrong?
13:45 tcohen the links
13:45 wahanui the links are only based on the $9.
13:45 tcohen Identify, etc
13:45 Joubu ok
14:02 tcohen minutes?
14:02 wahanui minutes are on the wiki page
14:08 Joubu "Too much data for control field" does someone know what this error mean?
14:09 Joubu Well, it means there are too much data for a control field, but in which cases it happens?
14:09 tcohen control fields are special fields, with width constraints
14:09 tcohen :-P
14:12 Joubu it should contain 4 characters, it does not seem very wide
14:15 tcohen blame LoC LOL
14:43 kidclamp Joubu: I am just going to be thinking about elasticsearch muppets all day now
14:48 * magnuse waves
14:51 tcohen hi magnuse
14:52 magnuse kia ora tcohen
14:53 Joubu kidclamp: elasticsearch muppets?
14:53 kidclamp mappings - meppings - muppets
14:53 Joubu eythian: Can I continue to bother you with ES stuffs?
14:54 Joubu kidclamp: haaa :)
14:54 Joubu will have to rebase the other one btw
14:54 eythian Joubu: you can ask, but a) I'll be coming and going, and b) it's been nearly a year since I've done serious work on it, so I may not be too much help.
14:56 Joubu eythian: http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=blob;f=Koha/SearchEngine/Elasticsearch/Search.pm;h=9f14c3aae99d7b820486941332fafed4ca30b00c;hb=refs/heads/master#l363
14:56 Joubu you wrote: should not be <5
14:57 Joubu but actually MARC::Field accepts 2 and only 2 params for controlfield
14:57 Joubu so I think there is something wrong with controlfield management, but not sure at which level
14:58 eythian hmm, it might be that control fields were/are being ignored either on the way in or the way out.
14:59 eythian or the marc json format has 5 fields anyway for them.
14:59 eythian It's possible that control fields weren't supported when I wrote that.
14:59 Joubu      but line 368             my $marc_field = MARC::Field->new(@$field);
14:59 Joubu fail with 5 params
15:00 reiveune bye
15:00 Joubu eythian: ok, I will continue the debug to better understand it
15:00 eythian then it's probable that it needs support for control fields added. I'd start by seeing how they get serialised into JSON and working from there.
15:10 Joubu eythian: it fixes the search results link on my unimarc D
15:10 Joubu DB
15:10 Joubu \o/
15:10 eythian cool :)
15:40 schnyd Hi all! How do I add include_items: 1 in conf file as described in bug 12252? I'm trying to make work items to show in OAI-PMH

15:44 Joubu thanks kidclamp! There is another one on bug 17377 if you like :)

15:53 lcg hi there, does anyone know where to locate specific information about import errors when staging a MARC file for import?
15:54 lcg i staged a file with around 7500 records, but 5 were dropped due to a MARC error. I suspect there are tags in those records which aren't used in the default framework, but I have no idea which of the 5 records are the problem
15:55 lcg any help would be much appreciated! Google has located a few others with a similar problem, but no resolutions
15:57 schnyd oopss got it guys.. :) cheers!
15:57 Joubu schnyd: what do you mean? Edit it, if it's empty, add the line, otherwise...
15:57 Joubu ok too late :)
15:57 Joubu lcg: something in the Koha log file?
16:00 schnyd yeah I added it and called it from Conffile :)
16:01 schnyd got it already, thanks!
16:07 lcg yeah, when i staged the import and it gives you the stats it says "5 records not staged because of marc error"
16:08 lcg but i'm not certain as to which 5 records it is
16:11 Joubu lcg: do you have any kind of errors in the Koha log file?
16:16 Joubu lcg: are you a developper or an user?
16:18 Joubu lcg: I have to go sorry. If you are a dev, and you are not in production you can try:
16:18 Joubu      450     use Data::Dumper;warn Dumper \@invalid_records;
16:18 Joubu in C4::ImportBatch::BatchStageMarcRecords just before the return
16:19 Joubu it will print in the koha logs the records in failure
16:25 lcg hey, my apologies, just had 4 calls in a row here at work
16:25 lcg i'll be back in a moment, i appreciate the help!
17:55 lcg ok, thanks for the help. I managed to track down the 5 rows. I ran a query of the original ILS database against what was in the koha database post-import and managed to locate the 5 records that were missing.
19:21 rangi @later tell joubu hmm maybe, but I quite like have the indexing separate from the searching how it is now
19:21 huginn rangi: The operation succeeded.
19:22 rangi @later tell joubu im not sure we would gain anything moving it?
19:22 huginn rangi: The operation succeeded.
19:23 rangi and morning everybody :)
19:23 rangi @later tell joubu but I dont mind either way really :)
19:23 huginn rangi: The operation succeeded.
19:51 eythian rangi: my thinking was that keeping all the engine specific stuff in one place makes it nice and discoverable and modular.
19:52 eythian (not that I exactly have a horse in the game :)
19:52 rangi makes sense
19:52 eythian In the distant future you could have search engine plugins...
19:53 rangi *nod*
20:03 magnuse rangi++ for looking at bug 13029
20:03 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13029 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, chris, ASSIGNED , Allow to pass additional parameters to SMS::Send drivers
20:04 rangi so, when someone does a tarball install
20:04 rangi where does their config end up
20:04 rangi just in /etc/koha/ ?
20:06 magnuse rangi: think so
20:06 magnuse the INSTALL file says to do "sudo zebrasrv -f /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml" for example
20:06 rangi right
20:06 rangi so we know where the config file is
20:07 rangi how about we put the path to the yaml file in the config?
20:10 * magnuse will take joann to see viking ships tomorrow
20:10 magnuse have fun #koha!
20:24 rocio a spback
20:26 wizzyrea hi
20:26 wahanui bonjour, wizzyrea
20:27 rangi rocio: a spback to you too
20:35 wizzyrea   joubu++
23:50 dcook hey wizzyrea: you know those new Windows 10 updates? They totally include a bash shell
23:50 dcook Accidentally just ran a shell script when I was trying to open it in notepad >_>
23:51 dcook No wonder the updates took bloody forever
23:53 dcook Actually... that was in Windows 8
23:53 dcook I didn't think WIndows 8 was getting the bash shell...
23:55 dcook Ahhh it was the git bash...
23:56 dcook moving on...
