08:21 eythian I wonder if anyone would really notice if I just went home to watch TV. (Also, I have a shiny new TV I want to play with. Need to find some 3D blurays to see how they go.)
08:22 drojf eythian: only one way to find out
08:22 magnuse what he said
08:24 magnuse weird, on my prod server i have a couple sites that have been running under plack for a while, without any complaints. i added another couple the other day, and here the librarians are thrown out with a "session expired" error every now and then, and apparently always when trying to delete an item
08:26 magnuse i do not get thrown out when deleting items, but at other random times
08:26 magnuse same behaviour before and after upgrade 3.22.7 -> 16.05.01
08:26 magnuse all sites use memcached, including for storing sessions
08:36 magnuse also, the logged-in-branch-name shows with garbled æøå
08:37 magnuse turning off plack makes the logging out go away, so it is deffo plack-related
08:51 cait hm the sesseion storage setting is the same for both?
08:53 wizzycray Can't locate object method "clear_syspref_L1_cache" via package "C4::Context" at /etc/koha/sites/hlt/plack.psgi line 51. has anyone spotted this on on 3.22.8?
08:53 wizzycray with plack
09:02 cait we are nto there yet
09:02 wizzycray ?
09:02 cait maybe drojf or magnuse?
09:02 cait wizzycray: no installations with plack and that versions here
09:02 wizzycray oh gotya
09:03 wizzycray it rather looks like there's a mismatch between my plack.psgi and the canonical one for 3.22.8
09:03 wizzycray i mean maybe? idk.
09:04 drojf wizzycray: where did you get it? or in general?
09:04 wizzycray in general
09:05 wizzycray opac was where I noticed it
09:05 wizzycray admt not trying theintranet
09:05 wizzycray admit* even
09:05 wizzycray the error was in the plack log
09:05 drojf hm no have not seen it. i will have a look later, but i think i already upgrades koha with plack to 3.22.8
09:05 drojf *upgraded
09:10 wizzycray yeah wow, it was a mismatch in my plack config
09:11 wizzycray this will sound like a dumb question, it is I admit...
09:11 wizzycray are the plack.psgi configs supposed to be updated when you install a new version of Koha? the one in /etc/koha/sites/instance/
09:11 wahanui Hmm. No matches for that, wizzycray.
09:13 wizzycray because ermmm mine weren't
09:13 wizzycray and it exploded rather spectacularly
09:17 drojf wizzycray: i don't know, but it may be the case that it just does not expect plack to be enabled manually before. i just turned it on when it was in koha
09:17 drojf which would not be nice, but possible
09:18 wizzycray well... i'm trying to think, maybe it only generates that file when plack is enabled? I dunno I'd have to test it
09:18 wizzycray this one, plack was running before the upgrade
09:19 wizzycray an upgrade from 3.22.05 to 3.22.08 should not be this dramatic >.<
09:19 drojf no it really shouldn't
09:19 drojf that sounds weird. and wrong
09:22 wizzycray well, it's working now so yay
09:24 drojf but if that explodes for everyone that had their own config… :/
09:24 wizzycray well I don't think (but I don't know!) if there was something special about it or whether it was just not updated because it was in /etc and generally speaking, we don't update files in /etc/koha/sites/instance/
09:25 wizzycray generally because maybe there are exceptions and I don't know about it
09:25 wizzycray I wish i had all the time in the world to understand exactly how every bit works >.<
09:27 drojf heh. i know that feeling
09:37 wizzycray thank you for your attention drojf :) always better to troubleshoot with a friend
09:38 wizzycray with my problems sorted, I'm away to fun time now. :)
09:38 drojf i want fun time too
09:39 drojf oh i have, working on koha :D
09:41 magnuse yay!
09:42 magnuse i just went from 3.22.7 to 16.05.01, so i dunno about 3.22.8
09:43 magnuse psgi files in /etc/koha/sites/instance/ are probably not updated, i think the only one koha knows about is the genera one in /etc/koha/plack.psgi
09:43 magnuse cait: yes, session storage is the same for all instances
09:44 cait ah, was only an idea
09:55 magnuse timeout is the default too
09:58 * magnuse takes it to the mailing list
10:15 magnuse oh neat, now i am thrown out with every step i take...
10:17 magnuse nothing interesting in the logs
10:18 magnuse restarting plack seems to have fixed that - not thrown out with every click
10:18 magnuse oh well, lunchtime
10:18 wahanui hmmm... lunchtime is a terrible time for a meeting

12:37 oleonard I do not like that patron search can fail because of bad data creating invalid JSON.
12:38 oleonard It should not be that fragile
13:00 oleonard Is there any particular reason why there isn't a tool in the staff client for exporting patrons?
13:08 kidclamp oleonard: because no one asked for it? and you can use reports?
13:18 nengard oleonard we need that tool!!!
13:18 nengard let's get it written :) hehe
13:19 oleonard kidclamp: Using reports requires that you keep your SQL up to date with changes to the database
13:20 kidclamp true, I was more positing that as a reason no one sponsored a development :-)
13:21 oleonard Of course the patron import tool is so brittle it's probably a lost cause anyway
14:10 druthb magnuse: read something somewhat startling the other day, and wanted to see what you knew about it...you around?
14:20 eythian http://www.nltimes.nl/2016/06/30/amsterdam-thief-steals-justice-ministers-bike/ <-- crime is out of control here
15:07 reiveune bye
15:10 magnuse druthb_away: am now
16:40 pianohacker Joubu: so, to clarify, is bug 14757 ready to push or no?
16:40 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14757 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, kyle.m.hall, Passed QA , Allow the use of Template Toolkit syntax for slips and notices
16:41 cait pianohacker: might be too late - maybe send an email?
16:41 cait or note on the bug :)
16:45 magnuse @seen Joubu
16:45 huginn magnuse: Joubu was last seen in #koha 2 days, 3 hours, 33 minutes, and 33 seconds ago: <Joubu> tcohen: is it a question? :)
17:01 magnuse gah. one of my libraries can't save transport types on the "Overdue notice/status triggers" page
17:02 magnuse Delay and Letter save fine, but not Restrict, Email etc
17:02 magnuse anyone else seen that?
17:03 magnuse oh, Restrict saves, but not Email, Print and SMS
17:06 magnuse when saving there is a blue box that says "INPUT SAVED"
17:06 cait there was an email on the mailingl ist about this
17:06 cait are you sure the update ran fine?
17:06 magnuse but that is a lie! a blatant lie, i tell you!
17:07 cait http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.misc.koha/41240
17:07 magnuse this 3.22.7, they have not been updated a lot
17:07 cait hmm
17:07 cait did you check the logs?
17:07 cait maybe a mysql error showing
17:08 magnuse nope, not in the intranet-error.log at least
17:11 cait did you fill in the delay correctly?
17:11 cait <0?
17:11 cait hm >0
17:11 cait ah.. you said you did
17:11 cait i would compare the database structure - the tables
17:15 magnuse yeah, i tried to look at the db but maybe not enough
17:25 magnuse ah yes there was something odd about the db. no idea how that happened, but fixed now
17:25 magnuse         cait++
17:29 cait            magnuse++
17:32 cait bye all
17:37 jrm question, whats the difference between the 2 reports " All bibs without items" and " Records without items"?
17:43 oleonard jrm: Are those in the SQL reports library?
17:44 oleonard I see: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/SQL_Reports_Library#All_bibs_without_items
17:44 oleonard jrm: Only the output is different. The latter has links to the OPAC and staff client.
17:50 oleonard jrm: Did you see my reply?
17:50 jrm i just read the logs to catch up, thank you
17:51 oleonard You're welcome.
17:51 jrm unfortunately I'm on the production server now which is ubuntu 14.04 and there is no support for our cannon printer in linux. so if someone needs to print while im working on here, i need to reboot into windows
17:52 jrm so another question then, whats the purpose of the links to the opac and staff client?
17:53 oleonard jrm: So you can see the details of those records, I assume.
17:54 oleonard jrm: The reports in the SQL library are all written by different people for different reasons.
17:54 jrm i just ran it to see the difference, got it!
18:05 jrm im pretty new to sql and all of this, im pulling up a duplicate report, how would i separate the 2 biblio numbers in the first column into 2 separate columns?
18:05 nengard not sure you can ... that's why we wrote it the way we did - cause it could be 2 or it could be 30
18:05 nengard I might be wrong
18:06 oleonard I agree with nengard, but I'm not an SQL wizard.
18:46 jrm i've got this fiurged out now, I can use a custom separator and then after run it and save it, in libre office I can split the column later. I need to delete the list of duplicates but keep one of the numbers in the list
19:10 cbrannon When adding an item in the default framework, 952 a and b default to your branch, but when using the fast cataloging framework, 952 a defaults to the top of the list. I also notice these fields are labeled differently from the default framework. Can anyone confirm these for me before I file a bug?
21:13 rangi oh god
21:13 rangi can someone with advice that isnt actually horrible answer that OS upgrade mail, or the poor person will follow paul A advice
21:13 rangi and i just dont have the energy
21:13 kidclamp lololol
21:27 wizzyrea magnuse: I ended up at least getting the thing up and running again, and rangi finished it off. And now I know a new thing about plack instances
21:28 rangi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSpWI7nGs1Q <-- i cant stop watching this
21:36 * wizzyrea doesn't begin to understand, but likes it all the same
22:16 Dyrcona rangi: Powerful... Is it a lament or a warning?
22:17 rangi lament, its about the land wars in the 1860s

22:18 Dyrcona rangi: Thanks.
