06:53 ashimema how was kohacon LibraryClaire?
06:53 LibraryClaire Awesome :)
06:53 ashimema :)
06:54 ashimema I thought you'd enjoy it
06:54 ashimema hope they all looked after you :)
06:54 ashimema knowing cait and gang.. I imagine you fitted right in ;)
06:54 LibraryClaire Yes, everyone was lovely :)
06:55 LibraryClaire They let me tag along ;)
06:55 LibraryClaire Hah!
06:55 ashimema I miss them all.. not seen any of them in person for ages now :'(
06:56 LibraryClaire :(
06:56 ashimema next year perhaps
06:56 LibraryClaire Marseille?
06:56 wahanui Marseille is a very contrasted city, some parts are gorgeous, other parts are... well... not so
06:56 fridolin hie tehre
06:56 ashimema or marseille :)
06:57 LibraryClaire :)
06:57 ashimema mostly depends on timing and kids these days.. if it ends up clashing with a school hol I'm stuffed
06:57 LibraryClaire I've no idea when the autumn half term lands
06:57 ashimema but I don't think Marseille usually does.. I can't really remember
06:57 drojf marseille used to be in march, so everything is different now ;)
06:58 LibraryClaire Hi drojf
06:58 ashimema though Rangi and gang likely won't be there.. which means I still miss people
06:58 drojf guten morgen LibraryClaire
06:58 LibraryClaire True
06:58 ashimema Hey drojf
06:58 ashimema how did your hackfest go?
06:58 drojf ashimema: i will do more berlin eventually
06:58 drojf it was good
06:58 ashimema sounded like a great success by all accounts
06:58 ashimema :)
06:58 drojf at least nobody said something else so far
06:59 ashimema Berlin would be good.. I've not yet managed to visit berlin.. been on my hit list for a while... only driven around it a few times of the way to or from elsewhere
07:00 LibraryClaire Same, still not mafe it there
07:00 ashimema did the liw talks go down well?
07:00 drojf there are a number of dev people that would like to come to berlin, getting NZ and US will not be so easy without a real kohacon though
07:00 ashimema Berlin and caits home town (to visit cait of course) are on my Germany list at the moment
07:01 ashimema indeed
07:01 ashimema right.. i best get the girls to school
07:01 LibraryClaire Good luck

11:18 drojf hello again
11:21 druthb drojf!
11:22 drojf druthb!
11:23 druthb :)
11:25 drojf druthb: when will cpanel support koha installations?
11:26 druthb My suspicion is somewhere like "never", drojf. For one, cPanel & WHM only runs on CentOS, so Koha's Debian-centricness is a bit of a hurdle--one that, I understand, has been at least partly conquered.
11:27 drojf ah yes that might be a problem
11:27 drojf you could do an rpm package too :P
11:27 druthb The other piece of the puzzle is that cPanel account holders are *not* allowed to run services; if the server admin allows, you can use MySQL, but running the search engine--Zebra or anything else--is just not allowed, and there's no plans to change that.
11:28 drojf ok thats a dealbreaker then
11:29 drojf never used cpanel, but saw it at kohacon, so i wondered how far away a one click koha would be
11:29 druthb A reseller account that has ssh access *could* do it, I suppose--well, maybe. I might just have to try it. But it would be non-trivially difficult; WHM is going to be watching for processes like that, and will gun them, as it'd think it's a runaway.
11:31 drojf yes probably not worth it, given how easy a koha install with debian packages is these days
11:32 druthb yah. I'd love to see it happen, I really would. But I don't see it as likely. The shared-web-hosting market that cPanel & WHM supports is just a different breed of cat. We're trying to make things *better*, and allow more things to happen that don't now, but it's a slow road.
11:33 drojf so much for trying to pull you back into the koha community :P
11:33 druthb There are other ways I could be pulled.
11:33 drojf like what?
11:33 wahanui like is hard to say, could adapt to yes, but doesn't feel intuitive
11:35 druthb I still care rather a lot about I18N/L10N stuff. The issues I raised in 2013 at Reno, many of them, are still there, far as I can see.
11:40 LibraryClaire_ hi #koha

12:22 eythian that's not uncommon
12:24 LibraryClaire eythian: thanks for the link! :)
12:24 eythian A friend of mine goes, says good things.
12:25 LibraryClaire coolio
12:26 liw I've heard good things about EMF. I've not been (and can't go this year due to a wedding)
12:28 LibraryClaire not sure if there's still availability, will keep an eye out
12:29 eythian I think there is, I got an email about it.
12:29 LibraryClaire ok, i'll check properly
12:29 eythian >The remaining tickets for Electromagnetic Field 2016 will go on sale onWednesday June 8th at 19:00 BST on the EMF website. More than 75% of tickets have already been sold, and we expect those which remain to sell quite quickly.

14:09 Joubu kidclamp: ok :)
14:39 tcohen morning
14:40 drojf hola tcohen
14:40 * LibraryClaire waves
14:41 pianohacker hello
14:42 pianohacker Joubu: are you using sereal using the functions or using an object?
14:42 tcohen hola drojf pianohacker LibraryClaire
14:42 Joubu object
14:42 Joubu pianohacker: I have tried both actually, and got the same results
14:43 pianohacker huh.
14:43 Joubu pianohacker: attach the patch, if you have it ready :)
14:43 pianohacker Joubu: so sereal doesn't make a difference for either master or bug 16166?
14:43 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=16166 enhancement, P2, ---, abl, Needs Signoff , Improve L1 cache performance and safety
14:45 Joubu pianohacker: I tried it on top of master and 16166 IIRC, and was always around 5sec.
14:45 Joubu pianohacker: I would like to test your 1.8sec patch! :)
14:48 pianohacker Joubu: I need to work my way out of a long backlog at work but I'll see what I can do
14:49 tcohen Joubu: kohadevbox:master runs smoothly for me
14:49 Joubu You had a patch ready somewhere ;)
14:49 Joubu pianohacker: how was your flight back?
14:49 tcohen the only problem I found was cloning the qa repo that says connection refused
14:49 tcohen ahhhh
14:49 Joubu tcohen: 2 differents persons tried during the hackfest and got the same errors
14:49 tcohen koha-gitify is really failing
14:50 Joubu they had to apply the deps manually
14:51 pianohacker Joubu: not awful, just far too long. Yours?
14:51 Joubu pianohacker: the way back to the campervan was quite fast :)
14:52 pianohacker good. Where to next?
14:54 tcohen Joubu: did u track the problem down?
14:56 Joubu pianohacker: close to Thessaloniki :)
14:56 Joubu tcohen: not at all, I was not with them
14:56 Joubu it begins with Test::DBIx::Class, then Modern::Perl, then a long list (apparently)
14:57 tcohen maybe it is just that master packages are missing deps
14:57 tcohen the Modern::Perl one is odd
14:57 Joubu indeed...
14:59 tcohen ah, maybe Debian removed something from their base box
15:03 Joubu tcohen: ha, one of the 2 guys told me he opened a bug report
15:04 Joubu https://github.com/digibib/kohadevbox/issues/99
15:04 Joubu he was using the latest master I think
15:09 * cait waves and runs out
15:24 bag morning
15:29 drojf hi bag
15:33 tcohen morning bag
15:33 tcohen drojf: did you start your packaging manager tasks already?
15:33 magnuse bag: HI
15:33 wahanui salut, magnuse
15:34 drojf tcohen: i got an introduction from eythian and will try to build my way through all failing tests
15:35 drojf why do you ask? are you going to ask for stuff already? :P
15:36 bag made it back at 2am local time last night. Not to shabby - it was 28 hours almost on the dot to get home
15:37 liw hey, bag
15:37 bag magnuse: HI , tcohen HI and liw HI
15:38 drojf no hi for me. pfff.
15:41 tcohen drojf: i ask because kohadevbox relies heavily on master packages
15:41 tcohen which have lagged too much
15:41 tcohen i built my own for the sole purpose of having kohadevbox running
15:42 tcohen if there are failing tests, we should fix them, I would help if needed
15:42 tcohen all of us I guess
15:44 drojf ah ok. i miss the koha repo server part (access to upload). master packages would be a good thing to start with, i will only break non-production things :D
15:45 pianohacker drojf: you say that, but then we find out somebody is running their library on kohadevbox :P
15:45 drojf pianohacker: then its a good thing to break that :P
15:46 eythian drojf: you'll need the ssh key from someone
15:47 drojf i guess rangi can help with that. once he is home and has slept a few days
15:53 magnuse sleep--
15:59 drojf magnuse: i did that a lot the last weeks. i'm all for sleep++
16:01 magnuse hehe, me too i guess
16:03 reiveune bye
16:03 * drojf heads home

18:21 tcohen Joubu: kohadevbox is now fixed
18:21 tcohen thanks
18:29 tcohen @later tell drojf 16.05 packages are somehow not pulling koha-perldeps
18:29 huginn tcohen: The operation succeeded.
18:30 drojf tcohen: i'm here. but gmcharlt made the packages
18:31 gmcharlt tcohen: which slot?
18:31 tcohen ah
18:32 tcohen kohadevbox is failing for people
18:32 tcohen and I noticed the perl deps are not being pulled as they did
18:32 tcohen it points to the unstable slot
18:32 tcohen which is installing 16.05 it seems
18:32 tcohen I was worried the stable slot had the same issue
18:33 gmcharlt tcohen: right. I'll replace that shortly in unstable; stable did not have that problem
18:33 tcohen ah
18:33 tcohen awesome, thanks
18:33 tcohen kohadevbox was failing due to missing Modern::Perl :-D
18:36 dani hello
18:36 tcohen hi dani
18:37 drojf gmcharlt: what will koha-elasticsearch be?
18:38 gmcharlt drojf: essentially just a metapackage that pulls in the deps that Koha's ES support needs (and suggests elasticsearch itself)
18:44 drojf ah, ok
18:46 tcohen gmcharlt: aer we sure koha doesn't break without those?
18:48 gmcharlt tcohen: yep, worked for me in testing
18:48 gmcharlt (assuming, of course, that one doesn't just turn on the sysprefs to enable ES :)
18:48 tcohen heheh
18:48 tcohen awesome gmcharlt, I didn't test that myself as kohadevbox pulls those deps by default
18:53 eythian drojf: so, I just realised the tsipouro bottle I got from duty free has a cork. It seems it'll be an all or nothing evening when I open that.
18:53 Joubu tcohen: ok great
18:54 Joubu might be good to answer / close the 2 issues on github
18:54 drojf eythian: mine has too. but you can close it without drinking it all ;)
18:54 tcohen Joubu: and build a healthy community around kohadevbox? nahhhh
18:54 tcohen :-P
18:55 Joubu drojf: eythian just wants an excuse to drink it in one night :)
18:55 drojf in that case, go for it :D
18:56 eythian Heh
18:57 bag back
18:57 bag go for it eythian
18:57 bag I didn’t know I would have to go through security again in instanbul - I bought a little bottle of tsipouro in the airport in thessoniki
18:58 bag so I drank half of the little bottle in the security line… Well at least I made it home ;)
18:58 drojf lolk
18:58 drojf lol
19:03 eythian bag: sounds terrible :-)
19:03 drojf yes, no ice
19:04 eythian (surprised they didn't give you a sealed duty free bag bag)
19:04 bag no ice.. I gave my second bottle to one of the guys working at one of the desks - he was very excited
19:16 drojf eythian: you got the one with the clear label?
19:25 eythian drojf: yep
19:29 tcohen later #koha
