We successfully installed koha with sampled data, unimarc format, added a few books, connected with ldap, everything seems fine except the performance - browsing and searching, browsing opac or intra takes 3-5 secs to load a page, searching 7-9 secs, though server hardware and internet connection seems more than fine 07:44 magnuse Koha-performanc: you might want to run Koha under Plack. if you installed with the debian packages, you can enable plack with these commands: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Plack#Plack_on_packages_.283.22.2B.29 07:44 magnuse hiya petter 07:44 petter hei magnus! 07:45 drojf ugh android 07:48 pianohacker hello 07:48 wahanui niihau, pianohacker 07:51 wizzycray Koha-performanc: turn off local cover images. 07:55 mveron 207 live viewers on http://www.livemedia.com/kohacon16 :-) 08:00 Koha-performanc local cover images are set to dont display 08:01 Koha-performanc our system runs on ubuntu 14.04 so it seems like plack has no effect 08:02 davidnind 207 - nice! (and it is coffee break time at the moment) 08:02 Koha-performanc if plack would really help solving this atleast up til 1-2 secs, we might try to reinstall koha in newer version of linux 08:07 davidnind Koha with packages is supported on LTS versions - Ubuntu 14.04, Debian 8 and 7. Still some work required to make Koha work on Ubuntu server 16.04 - not yet recommended, you will have problems! 08:16 petter If plack has no effect I can't belive it's on 08:17 petter The effect should be huge 08:17 petter (but parsing of search-results is still slow) 08:17 petter all other pages should feel snappy 08:32 Koha-performanc as i found plack to give effect requires newer apache, so newer linux version, im gonna look into this 08:39 pianohacker Koha-performanc: yes, the apache-shared-intranet-plack.conf checks for a high enough apache version. Which version do you have? 08:41 Koha-performanc 2.4.7 is the newest for ubuntu thursty 14.04, now im working on updating all of this, seems plack need apache 2.4.10 08:49 bag talljoy++ 08:49 talljoy :-D 08:50 bag always the hat on /me 08:50 talljoy ayup 08:57 bag hmm I’m stuck in a web installer on current master 09:00 wizzycray yeah there's a bug 09:00 wizzycray also a patch 09:00 wizzycray bug 16615 09:00 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=16615 major, P5 - low, ---, oleonard, NEW , Full-site SSL: always use SSL when referencing external resources 09:00 wizzycray no 09:01 wizzycray bug 16619 09:01 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=16619 blocker, P5 - low, ---, koha-bugs, Signed Off , Installer stuck in infinite loop 09:02 wizzycray bag ^ 09:02 magnuse gah, i hate it when i write "protect marc" in bugzilla search to find bug 14957 09:02 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14957 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, eivin, Needs Signoff , Write protecting MARC fields based on source of import 09:02 bag yeah typo on my part - I think I will bump that past QA 09:03 wizzycray up to you :) 09:04 bag done 09:06 huginn New commit(s) kohagit: Bug 16619 - installer stuck in infinite loop <http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=commitdiff;h=3311ab44cfffcd152e7de4652637eb95a265308e> 09:06 wizzycray oarsome :) 09:07 eythian wahanui: marc is also <reply>I think you mean Jurassic Marc, $who 09:07 wahanui okay, eythian. 09:13 wizzycray hehe jurassic marc. funny slide. 09:14 magnuse yay 09:16 huginn New commit(s) kohagit: DBRev up for Bug 16200 - 'Hold waiting too long' fee has a translation <http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=commitdiff;h=bae0eb9ab702f3fe4351e7b3b23a332a998ed6b1> / Bug 16200: Convert all existing expired holds accounttype to HE <http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=commitdiff;h=09de19c427c1e99d7e921210ed39cb6a19737317> / Bug 16200: Make 'Hold waiting too long' translatable and give it an unique 09:17 bag oh yeah rangi - if possible - let’s get a picture of everyone together that bought t-shirts… maybe right before lunch :) 09:21 bag happy birthday thatcher 09:22 wizzycray you only missed it by 17 days, pretty close actually. 09:22 thatcher hai2u 09:22 thatcher many bdays upon you bag 09:22 bag HA 09:23 bag I hit THE thatcher up on facebook wizzycray 09:23 wizzycray he was just telling me ;) 09:23 bag I have it on my calendar now - so I get the notice :) THE thatcher is famous in our household and in ByWater 09:24 thatcher how's the things 09:24 wizzycray lol, there's only one. like the highlander. 09:24 bag lol 09:24 bag things are good thatcher - I just finished my presentation - so thinking about beer ;) 09:24 thatcher indeed sir 09:24 wizzycray you should come over and have beer with us. 09:25 bag deal :) 09:25 thatcher all the beers 09:25 wizzycray we made it ourselves. 09:25 wizzycray just sayin. 09:25 bag all THE beers 09:25 bag excellent and right on Rea’s 09:25 thatcher it's shockingly drinkable 09:26 bag kohala++ 09:26 huginn New commit(s) kohagit: Bug 16532: Groups showing empty tables if no groups defined <http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=commitdiff;h=ca36a74c868f25217e0db0900f043b4403aa9e01> 09:26 wizzycray omg I just want this db upgrade to finish already 09:26 bag the HE one? Catmandu 1.0201 wants Data::UUID > 1.221, but you can't just grab Data::UUID, because Debian uses OSSP::uuid which provides Data::UUID, and the packages are built to explicitly depeend on libossp-uuid-perl 11:32 pianohacker I had to force-install my dh-make-perl created libcatmandu-perl package 11:33 eythian it's possible that catmandu will work with either, if so, that can be declared. 11:34 pianohacker eythian: I believe it should, but the explicit version requirement means that it won't work with ossp::uuid 11:34 eythian we can override that easily enough if we find it to be wrong 11:35 pianohacker I'm guessing you use something more sophisticated than dh-make-perl --cpan for making packages? 11:36 eythian no, that's what I use 11:36 eythian but you can change what it makes 11:36 pianohacker oh. 14:08 drojf https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Kohacon16/Hackfest 14:09 drojf i want to take part in packaging, i think that has very limited resources. liw said up to 6 people, more with help. eythian would help, don't know to how many more people that translates now 14:09 drojf so i have put it not up there so far 14:09 drojf i would like to see as many devs as possible do that :) 14:10 drojf not really something for librarians anyway 14:12 drojf it would be good to have somebody who does a session about sandboxes. paul_p will do a presentation as far as i understand, so they could use it in practise at the hackfest 14:12 paul_p drojf no no no !!! 14:12 drojf what? 14:12 paul_p drojf I didn't say "yes" to ME presenting the sandboxes. I said yes to SOMEONE presenting the sandboxes. It does it by table name, alphabetically. That's cool, until you go to import it into an existing database with tables - the foreign key declarations are all out of order, and it tries to create keys on tables that don't exist 22:06 wizzyrea so the import fails at aqbasket or aqbasketsellers 22:06 wizzyrea the work around I have is to do a very frightening thing, and drop the target DB, and re-create it 22:07 wizzyrea what might one do to avoid this problem and make it more seamless? 22:09 thatcher https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aHQnDTd1y4 22:24 wizzyrea https://i.imgur.com/xaBoIO8.webm
