Time Nick Message
23:59 chris_n two pieces left... one for rangi and one for cait :-)
21:30 cait salami
21:30 rangi pepperoni for me please
21:30 rangi :)
21:28 cait can you come back with the pizza? :)
21:28 * chris_n stops by on his way to get pizza
21:06 libsysguy ugh
21:06 libsysguy haha yeah...dates
21:06 cait like dates :)
21:06 rangi yep, we can clean that out, nice thing is now we did the big move, we can incrementally clean without busting things
21:05 libsysguy yeah so we do have a lot of bloat
21:05 rangi we could move lots to includes
21:05 rangi and lots repeated
21:05 cait libsysguy: can't do that automatically
21:05 libsysguy i have noticed that cait
21:05 rangi yep
21:05 cait some things are barely readable and overly complicated
21:05 libsysguy for those template vars
21:05 libsysguy ahh, so there really hasn't been any refactoring on the back end?
21:04 rangi and a lot more ifs than we need now
21:04 rangi so had a lot more variables being set than we need now
21:04 rangi you just basically did if this
21:04 rangi libsysguy: back in h::t::p days you cant do nice if this eq 'something'
21:03 cait [off] I need to do more testing - send me a note to test on master, but found no time yet
21:03 rangi [off] i think post 3.6.3 i think 3.6.4 or master .. but needs testing
21:03 rangi [off] or the fix might have created it
21:03 cait [off] seen it in 3.6.3
21:02 rangi [off] thats plausible, but i think was fixed in master already
21:02 cait [off] I suspect an evil auth bug when there are cardnumbers and usernames doubled up - anyone seen this happening? I ended up in the wrong user account :(
21:02 libsysguy ahh
21:01 rangi libsysguy: most of those ifs are for render logic
21:01 rangi                all in C4::Auth
21:01 rangi authorisation is Koha specific tho
21:01 rangi CAS or LDAP (at the moment)
21:01 rangi not for authentication, its either md5 shas
21:00 libsysguy did we write our own logic for Authentication?
20:59 libsysguy render logic only please :p
20:59 libsysguy control logic should rarely ever be in the from end template files
20:59 libsysguy oh geez...
20:58 cait like thousands of ifs stuck into each other
20:58 rangi ill send you my presentation after hackfest
20:58 cait now we only have to rewrite some of the very bad template logic
20:58 cait yep TT is very nice
20:57 libsysguy on a site note I am super excited we are using TT
20:56 libsysguy [off] forever stuck in the past…oh well…their loss
20:56 rangi [off] they pretty much couldnt once koha moved to template::toolkit
20:55 libsysguy [off] yeah I don't see how they are going to continue to pull new features
20:54 rangi yeah thats no fun
20:54 * libsysguy hates compiling packages from source…especially when they all fail
20:52 rangi [off] theres utterly no way they can even pretend its koha now
20:52 rangi [off] yep got rid of translations and lots of thigns, still old html::template::pro tho
20:51 cait [off] no?
20:50 libsysguy [off] speaking of repos did you see where liblime koha redid the file structure?
20:50 libsysguy its ok, its scary looking
20:50 libsysguy haha
20:50 cait ;)
20:49 cait I am not good at mind um repo reading
20:47 libsysguy https://github.com/libsysguy/koha-catalyst
20:47 libsysguy haha you can look
20:46 cait do I want to know what you are trying to do here? :)
20:45 libsysguy auth can proceed :p
20:45 libsysguy yayy
20:45 libsysguy yeah that looks like it
20:44 libsysguy ahh
20:44 cait user_permissions is the table I thnk
20:42 libsysguy i may see if i can rework that lol
20:42 libsysguy ok
20:42 cait for the 2nd level permissions below modules
20:42 cait flags in the borrowers table (bitmask?) and a separate table
20:41 libsysguy i was looking here http://schema.koha-community.org/tables/borrowers.html and it doesn't seem like they have their own table
20:41 cait flags and a separate table
20:41 libsysguy maybe patronflags?
20:41 libsysguy do you know where it is in the db?
20:41 cait under more
20:41 cait in each patron record
20:41 cait we don't have roles really
20:40 libsysguy like what permissions they have
20:40 cait and then you can define a patron with a patron category and give them permissions
20:40 libsysguy do you know where the "roles" are defined?
20:40 libsysguy oh
20:40 cait patron categories are used to define circulation
20:40 cait I think
20:40 cait hm you mix things there
20:40 libsysguy umm…like librarian, patron, super librarians etc
20:39 cait sorry libsysguy - but I don't understand your question :)
20:39 libsysguy is the categories table in koha like the user roles?
18:03 YoungPublicLibrarian Thanks Oak, but that's not what I'm looking for. I need to print a three line spine label.
17:58 Oak but electricity is about to go in few minutes
17:58 Oak YoungPublicLibrarian, I've used it to generate and print barcodes...
17:44 YoungPublicLibrarian Yep. I've noticed, lol
17:42 cait pretty quiet here on weekends
17:42 YoungPublicLibrarian Okay, thanks anyway Cait!
17:41 cait sorry YoungPublicLibrarian - haven't used it yet
17:41 YoungPublicLibrarian Anyone here able to help me with the Koha Label Creator?
16:48 cait hi druthb
16:37 druthb kia ora, #koha
15:56 YoungPublicLibrarian Good morning everyone!
14:58 * cait waves
13:57 huginn jcamins_away: The operation succeeded.
13:57 jcamins_away @later tell magnuse I get an error on t/00-valid-xml.t when I translate the templates to French: Failed test './koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/fr-FR/xslt/NORMARCslim2intranetDetail.xsl parses' - the problem is the   entity. Not sure if you care, or how to fix it, but I thought I'd point it out.
13:06 techbee thanks jcamins
13:01 jcamins But if you're using a deb-based distro, I'd encourage you to use the packages.
13:01 jcamins Well, it's a good idea to do that.
13:01 techbee it's always to ensure make test is pass to have smooth installation
12:59 jcamins I use both Debian and Ubuntu server.
12:59 jcamins A deb-based distro.
12:59 jcamins Not no hope, but it'll be a lot of work
12:58 techbee which distro should i use?
12:57 techbee thanks jcamins , so there is no hope ;)
12:56 jcamins techbee: I don't think I know of anyone who has successfully installed Koha on Fedora.
12:56 jcamins techbee: yes it does.
12:55 techbee hello all , i am trying to install koha 3.8.0 on fedora 14 but it seems it has huge number of prerequiste perl modules
12:12 jcamins o/
11:27 huginn chris_n: The operation succeeded.

07:55 druthb Hi, #koha ...anyone around to say hi to Ihab? We're training on Koha adminning, migration, and the community!
07:01 druthb off to do some system admin training!
06:51 Oak :)

04:12 libsysguy anybody know where the wrapper templates are for Koha
02:48 libsysguy its so quiet in here…almost like it is a weekend-night
02:22 huginn jcamins_away: The operation succeeded.
02:22 jcamins_away @later tell libsysguy oleonard is working on migrating Koha to jQueryUI from YUI. He's doing one type of control at a time, starting with autocomplete.
01:29 libsysguy anybody know if we are using jquery-ui?
01:29 * libsysguy needs oleonard
