00:05 mib_1s3kly i have create a new record, but when i try to index the database with Zebra i get this error:
01:19 mtj aw, c'mon... whats the error?

01:31 rangi heh
01:44 rangi             oleonard++
01:52 renren good day to all
01:52 rangi hi renren
01:53 renren hi
01:53 renren i just want to ask about =koha
01:54 renren is there a way to intigrate the rfid on koha library system aside from Bar code?
01:55 rangi hmm it will need some unique identifier still, does you rfid reader speak SIP2 ?
01:56 * rangi has to go to a meeting in 5 mins, so you might be better asking this on the mailing list
01:57 renren but it is possible to intigrate?
01:58 eythian yes, people have done it
01:58 renren by the way. do u have a installation manual regarding on koha?
01:58 renren im sorry but im a basic linux guy,
01:59 eythian have a look on the website and the wiki, there are plenty of guides there depending on how you want to isntall it
01:59 eythian also the INSTALL docs in the arvhice itself
01:59 * eythian         -> meeting
01:59 renren when im installing a koha on linux, there is a lot of error when i comes to perl side
02:10 renren sir eythian
02:11 renren are u still there?
02:17 renren what other ifid that support the koha lib system?
02:19 mtj renren: ask about rfid on the koha mailing-list
02:21 mtj i do not know what brands of rfid to recommend to you
02:22 mtj and i recommend to use the debian packages for Koha installation on linux
02:22 mtj http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Debian
02:24 renren ok
02:26 renren is ubuntu is a debian packages?
02:30 mtj hmmm, maybe... i have not tried myself
02:30 renren what kind of debian linux?
02:31 mtj debian stable?
02:32 mtj i'm not sure what you mean
02:32 renren ok
02:32 mtj fyi: 'squeeze' is debian-stable
02:32 renren so im going to download the debian squeeze to install the koha lib system?
02:32 mtj http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debian
02:33 mtj Latest stable release	6.0.4 (Squeeze) (28 January 2012; 2 months ago)
02:33 renren ok
02:33 mtj yep, or download a Koha VM
02:34 mtj ... those are the 2 easiest ways to get a Koha running :)
02:35 mtj renren: kyle.hall has some good Koha VMs
02:35 mtj http://kylehall.info/index.php/projects/koha/koha-virtual-appliance/
02:37 renren thanks for your help guys
02:38 renren by the way.. what kind of rfid do u implement on koha?
02:40 mtj renren: me? i have not done any RFID with Koha , but many people have
02:40 mtj i only have done SIP and 3M self-checkout machines
02:41 renren sip is the direct to pc card reader right?
02:41 mtj so, best to ask RFID questions on the Koha lists - you should get some good info
02:41 renren ok
02:42 mtj               no really -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_Interchange_Protocol
02:42 mtj "The Standard Interchange Protocol is a proprietary standard for communication between library computer systems and self-service circulation terminals."
02:43 mtj s/no/not/ :)
02:43 mtj but yes... its the protocol that card-readers talk to PCs
02:44 renren ahh ok
02:49 rangi fg
02:52 eythian ^Z bg
02:52 eythian http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2007/04/10/2065727.aspx <-- what "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3" on book copyright pages means
03:08 eythian Somewhere, there's a MARC field for linking to an image of something. Anyone know what that? Not 856$u.
03:08 eythian s/that/that is/
03:08 rangi not me
03:09 eythian I remember seeing it one day, but now I can't remember.
03:09 rangi there is a syspref to enable you to use 866$u for that
03:10 eythian that might suit
03:10 eythian Display856uAsImage
04:48 mib_vcfq4w Hi everyone. I have just installed koha. i have create a new record, but when i try to reindex with Zebra i get the following error:
04:48 mib_vcfq4w zebraidx(5748) [warn] Record didn't contain match fields in (bib1,Local-number)
04:48 rangi what version of koha?
04:48 mib_vcfq4w the last version
04:48 mib_vcfq4w 3.6.2
04:49 rangi hmm the latest is 3.6.4
04:49 mib_vcfq4w sorry
04:49 mib_vcfq4w 3.6.4
04:49 mib_vcfq4w you have the reason
04:49 rangi but either way, you shouldn't get that error, how are you running the reindex?
04:50 mib_vcfq4w like this:
04:51 rangi yay for mibbit!
04:52 mib_8wa7ju like this
04:54 mib_8wa7ju usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tool/rebuil_zebra.pl -b -r -v
04:54 rangi try it with -x
05:13 mib_jytdee i have tried with -x but i get the same error
05:13 mib_jytdee Record didn't contain match fields in (bib1,Local-number)
05:14 mib_jytdee when i reindex the record with Zebradb
05:14 mib_jytdee and i can't see in the catalogue the records that i have just create
05:15 cait morning #koha
05:15 mib_jytdee good morning
05:16 mib_jytdee anyone have an idea that could fix this issue?
05:16 mib_jytdee thanks
05:18 eythian it generally means something is iffy with your data.
05:26 rangi Or record is too long try with -x
05:26 cait hi eythian and rangi :)

06:35 eythian this one machine-generated file has dates both in the form 28 October 2011 and 28/11/2011. What madness is this?
06:35 magnuse library madness?

06:37 eythian magnuse: well, library software madness in this case.
06:39 magnuse eythian: ah yes, that would do it, i guess ;-)

07:29 dheeraj how we can train on koha
07:30 magnuse well, just install it and use, basically...
07:30 magnuse well, just install it and use *it*, basically...
07:31 dheeraj ok, any changes required can we do it our self
07:31 magnuse yup, that's the beauty of it :-)
07:32 samuel hello everybody!
07:33 rangi hi samuel
07:33 mveron hi everybody
07:34 mveron rangi: I need additional advise on your comment to Bug 7621
07:34 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=7621 enhancement, P1 - high, ---, veron, Needs Signoff , Circulation: Match age restriction of title with borrower's age without using categories
07:34 mveron You say: "It might be better to adapt the frameworks to link the MARC field to a column in biblioitems."
07:34 mveron But that would be kind of hard wired, no? And the field where the age info is stored would not longer be configurable by sysprefs?
07:34 dheeraj can we customize koha our own
07:35 rangi mveron: yep you would have to do it in the frameworks, im fairly sure there is a marc field for it already
07:36 rangi the problem with doing the extractvalue of the marcxml, means that if we do decide to switch to turbomarc, or using the marccolumn etc ..
07:36 rangi then it will break, also, versions of mysql pre 5.1 don't support it
07:37 rangi if you didnt want to store the value in biblioitems
07:38 rangi then probably the next best thing, would be to get a MARC::Record object and do the comparison on the field that way
07:39 rangi i do think the frameworks is the most portable way, because if you add it to the marc21, normarc, and unimarc one
07:39 rangi it shouldn't break
07:39 renren_1922 good day sri
07:40 mveron hi kf
07:40 renren_1922 can i help me guys where to find the barcode generation on koha?
07:40 renren_1922 thanks
07:40 rangi you mean printing barcodes?
07:41 renren_1922 yes
07:41 rangi manual?
07:41 wahanui manual is at http://www.koha-community.org/documentation
07:42 renren_1922 yes
07:42 renren_1922 manual barcode generator
07:42 rangi http://manual.koha-community.org/3.8/en/labelcreator.html
07:43 mveron rangi: Thanks for the explanation. I am not quit sure I understand the framwork thing. Maybe you can give me a pointer (e.g. to code wher I can see how it is done)?
07:45 rangi mveron: well if you add a column to biblioitems, then you can map that to any marcsubfield in the frameworks
07:45 kf mveron: look at koha-to-marc-mappings on the administration page
07:45 rangi then when someone imports, or catalogues, because that column is mapped, it will end up in the biblioitems table
07:46 mveron rangi: Thanks, great, (Still learning...)
07:46 rangi then its just a simple select biblionumber from biblioitems where agerestriction = ?
07:46 rangi or, in our case
07:46 rangi             if ($data->{'agerestriction'} == 10){
07:47 rangi or something like that :) since in that subroutine we already have all in the biblioitems data in a hashref
07:47 rangi and using the mappings, its still configurable, but not via sysprefs, via the mappings instead, which will mean it should work for all flavours of MARC
07:47 rangi MARC: The standard that isn't
07:50 mveron rangi: Thanks a lot.
07:51 rangi no problem
07:51 rangi it's a good feature
07:54 renren_1922 sir
07:55 renren_1922 what is SIP-2 RFID it will install to the Debian koha server or in the client pc that with windows OS?
08:01 renren_1922 thanks
08:01 renren_1922 guy question..
08:02 renren_1922 where do im going to install the RFID? in the KOHA server or in the client PC?
08:05 slef most of them install on the client I think, but it depends on the RFID pad and I missed the start of this discussion
08:05 slef hi all
08:06 marcelr hi slef
08:06 samuel hi slef
08:06 marcelr slef: is there any page listing the submitted papers for kohacon and hackfest?
08:07 slef marcelr: not yet. This week.
08:07 slef marcelr: probably before Wednesday's meeting
08:08 marcelr ok
08:08 slef marcelr: why do you want them?
08:08 marcelr well could take a look if i could add one myself
08:08 marcelr first know what it there already
08:09 slef marcelr: if in doubt, submit it. Only an abstract is requested. The worst that can happen is it gets rejected in favour of another talk.
08:10 * slef swears about $otherProject and people who submit enhancements by just mailing the edited file
08:10 marcelr if there is a list on wednesday, i still have time
08:10 slef :(
08:10 kf marcelr: do you have an idea what you want to talk about?
08:10 renren_1922 so the RFID will install on the Client side right?
08:11 marcelr hi kf
08:11 marcelr ideas enough, but want to see other subjects first
08:39 sturmtruppen morning #koha
09:01 magnuse so i'm testing analytic records and child records display links to parent records, but parent records are not displaying links to child records - is that how it's supposed to be?
09:03 kf magnuse: ask me again a bit later?
09:03 kf I can tell you, but still busdxy
09:03 kf busy
09:04 magnuse kf: you'll regret saying that moahaha ;-)
09:04 kf hehe I won't
09:12 magnuse anyone know an opac where the "Browse by author or subject" feature is active and working?
09:14 magnuse found one
09:27 renren_1922 - In what pc where Im gonna install the RFID SIP-2?
09:27 renren_1922 is it on koha server or on client?
09:31 magnuse wouldn't it be nice to be able to associate templates with report, so you could print them in an format you wanted?
09:32 magnuse s/report/reports/
09:32 magnuse s/an/any/
09:37 slef renren_1922: I don't know which RFID SIP-2 you are trying to install. Probably on client.
09:37 slef magnuse: yes
09:37 magnuse slef: yay :-)
09:53 mveron rangi: I added (manually) a column agerestriction to biblioitems then mapped it with 'Koha to MARC mapping' to field 521 a
09:53 mveron If I change 521 a or add new record with something in 521 a the values do not show up in 'select agerestriction from biblioitems'
09:53 mveron Which step do I miss?

09:57 shahas let me asl one error in my koha 3.6
09:58 kf mveron: I think you have to add some code

09:59 kf take a look at biblio.pm

11:33 skk hw to find out this
11:33 kf did you change frameworks and maybe deleted one of the 9xx fields by accident?
11:33 kf they are necessary for koha to work corectly
11:33 skk no idea nw if it would have gt deleted
11:34 skk is there any way to find out that
11:34 kf I am not sure how to find the record now - you could try to find some sql to check for existence of 999 in all marc records perhaps
11:34 kayser Hello, can i get a little bit of support here? problem with the 040 c field.
11:37 kf kayser: what is your problem?
11:41 skk what is the sql query to check for existence of 999 in all marc records so that i can find a record which creates problem while reindexing
11:42 Oak kia ora #koha
11:42 kayser kf, trying to save record but i have to fill in 040 c field but i have read that it should be the same as 040 a. Do i remove the mandetory value? how imortant is it? almost only childrens book in the library
11:50 shahas \\\\am getting error while saving MARC record,,Software error: Can't call method "fields" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Biblio.pm line 2245.
11:53 drojf kayser: that's not really a koha question i guess, just a matter of your local conventions. if you do not plan to share your records with others you can basically do it how you think it works best for you. i doubt koha does rely on that value. if you don't need it, you could change the marc framework to non-mandatory for that field and see if that works for you
11:55 jcamins_away kayser: you could marc 040$c not mandatory, but if you do that you won't be able to share your records. I generally recommend that people just register for an organization code, since it's free.
11:55 jcamins_away *make marc 040$c
12:00 kayser I figuered out that the value should be the same on all books so i can edit that later in case. Only a small childrens school and the only need a working library Thanks for the support!
12:04 kf kayser: sorry. I think you could also add a default value if you have a code- so it would get filled out automatically
12:06 jcamins_away ^^ I do that.
12:09 kayser kf, found the default value opition under adcanced constrants

13:56 vinod my marc data contain only call number of one book/item whereas one record contain several items/book how can i give call number to each
13:57 vinod during importing in koha it accepts for only one item rest does not shows call number allthough i have also given call number to 082 fiels
13:58 slef vinod: so you have repeated 082 fields, one for each book?
13:59 vinod no in 952 field there is only one call number against one item and separately there are 082 fiels
14:00 slef do you have one 952 for each item?
14:00 vinod yes
14:00 slef does each 952 field have a call number in 952$o?
14:01 vinod no this is the problem
14:01 slef I think you need to put them into 952$o before you import them.
14:01 vinod how can i bring it in each item or any other way
14:01 slef Use whatever you used it edit MARC files to do it.

14:02 slef I use xsltproc to process the marcxml. Other people use marcedit or the koha-migration.git.
14:02 vinod i have tried with marc editor but no options to do that i have tried a lot

14:57 * chris_n finds working one the qod editor fun :-)

14:57 chris_n hehe
14:58 asaurat1 yeaah cookie
14:58 chris_n Ford followed up with "Our Long national nightmare is over."
14:58 chris_n lol
14:58 chris_n ok, back to work
14:59 kf qa team at work :)
14:59 kf                marcelr++ sekjal++
14:59 chris_n wizzyrea: we are closer to your editable items table wish
14:59 wizzyrea that would be so. awesome.
15:00 oleonard Interesting analog to the Cart, "My workspace"
15:00 magnuse jeditable looks cool
15:00 jcamins sekjal: DOM indexing is ready for QA.
15:00 chris_n magnuse: it is cool... very cool
15:00 * magnuse read it as jedi-table, of course...
15:00 * wizzyrea waves at oleonard
15:00 wizzyrea magnuse: I do too!
15:00 wizzyrea use the force, librarians!
15:01 magnuse may the source be with you!
15:01 wizzyrea ROFL
15:01 kf :)
15:01 kf I was highly disappointed wwf allowed for sith but not for jedi
15:01 kf (scrabble)
15:01 * chris_n will submit his qod feature soon which will add jeditable and illustrate its use
15:02 wizzyrea ooo yea, wth. is Jedi a proper noun? and if so, why is Sith not?
15:02 chris_n talk about a marc editor improvement
15:02 wizzyrea oh boy oh boy.
15:02 jcamins chris_n: yes, that's what I want.
15:02 wizzyrea          chris_n++
15:02 kf wizzyrea: I suspect wwf is on the dark side..
15:02 wizzyrea hehe yes
15:03 magnuse kf: sounds like ut
15:03 magnuse s/ut/it/
15:03 wizzyrea i'm still on about that opac. I really like it.
15:04 jcamins wizzyrea: me too. The only thing I objected to was the "I want this" tab.
15:04 jcamins However, that was a pretty major objection.
15:05 magnuse ooh http://blogs.perl.org/users/claes_jakobsson/2012/04/nordic-perl-workshop-2012---june-4-5-in-stockholm-sweden.html
15:05 kf hm when I delete something from borrowers... will the patron attributes and messaging prefs go with it?
15:07 jcamins It seems to me we could AJAX in a description, at least, pretty easily.
15:07 jcamins (add an XSLT thingy)
15:07 magnuse kf: something?
15:07 jcamins kf: check kohastructure, but I'm pretty sure there's an ON DELETE CASCADE.
15:13 jcamins So I guess a rendered XSLT detail view is probably about 1.5kb.
15:14 * jcamins is imagining a mouseover preview.
15:14 wizzyrea ew no
15:14 wizzyrea lol
15:15 wizzyrea too many links on a result page to have a hover preview, imo.
15:15 jcamins Hm.
15:15 wizzyrea but that might be just me
15:15 wizzyrea perhaps what you are imagining is perfect and would be happy and stuff.
15:16 jcamins Hehe.
15:16 jcamins There aren't many links on the results page...
15:17 jcamins What I want is a way to offer a preview without losing the link to the details page.
15:17 magnuse yeah, that is super important
15:17 magnuse https://ask.bibsys.no/ask2/html/
15:18 magnuse ^ no links to detail views
15:18 jcamins magnuse: not to mention, 100% flash?
15:18 jcamins Or something painful.
15:19 magnuse not flash, i think, but a ton of js
15:19 jcamins Yeah, that's what I don't want.
15:19 jcamins I want something tasteful.
15:19 magnuse yay!
15:20 jcamins Maybe a subtle "Preview" link at the end of the results.
15:20 jcamins I guess it depends how much control there is over mouseover delays.
15:26 slef wahanui: what happened to you, falling offline?
15:26 wahanui bugger all, i dunno, slef
15:26 slef wahanui: oh well never mind. Have a botsnack.
15:26 wahanui :)
15:26 slef :)?
15:26 wahanui hmmm... :) is ok
15:30 sekjal jcamins: while DOM indexing does seem to be pretty low-impact on the existing codebase, it's not my current priority. I'm aiming for getting as many bugs and regressions resolved as possible before 3.8
15:53 sekjal lunch time!
15:53 talljoy nom nom
15:59 wizzyrea do we log things like "purchase suggestion deletion" in the actionlogs?
15:59 jcamins wizzyrea: I don't think so.
15:59 wizzyrea bother.
16:02 wizzyrea is there a new-ish cron to delete rejected suggestions?
16:09 wizzyrea nm, purge suggestions, I found it :)
16:12 * oleonard condemns wizzyrea's Stalin-like rule of innocent rejected suggestions
16:12 wizzyrea hey, actually I'm trying to *prevent* the genocide of poor innocent rejected suggestions.
16:13 talljoy NO soup for you.
16:13 jcamins wizzyrea: yeah, sure, that's what they all say.
16:13 * wizzyrea is trying to *save* them! We've lost too many already!
16:14 * oleonard honors wizzyrea as the Oscar Schindler of rejected suggestions
16:14 talljoy out of curiosity, why do you want to keep rejected suggestions?
16:14 talljoy wasn't one rejection enough for the poor things?
16:16 wizzyrea the answer to the first question is that I have a situation where I can't tell when a suggestion was processed by a library, no one there has any recollection of rejecting the suggestion, but it apparently got purged by the cronjob on the same day it was rejected.
16:16 wizzyrea i'm honestly not sure what the problem is i'm trying to solve here.
16:16 wizzyrea more sleuthing.
16:17 * talljoy is confused....thought wizzyrea was a mindreader...
16:18 oleonard wizzyrea is a mentalist
16:19 talljoy lol
16:28 wizzyrea oh my
16:29 * kf thinks wizzyrea needs cookies
16:29 wizzyrea hehe, I love coincidences of timing.
16:29 jcamins Speaking of cookies, did I tell everyone my experience baking brownies the other day?
16:29 wizzyrea so I think what happened was that an old suggestion was rejected, then 2 days later was purged. thusly, we can't find it and there's no record of what happened.
16:30 jcamins I learned that substituting agave syrup for granulated sugar makes the brownies *drier*.
16:30 jcamins wizzyrea: is it important enough to go back to an old backup?
16:31 wizzyrea nope. I think knowing *how* it disappeared is going to be good enough.
16:40 talljoy jcamins- really? i wouldn't have thought so.
16:40 jcamins talljoy: yeah, I was shocked.
16:41 wizzyrea hm
16:41 talljoy something about the chemistry, I reckon.
16:41 jcamins Yeah.
16:41 * wizzyrea wonders about the hydroscopic variance of agave syrup vs cane sugar
16:41 talljoy i guess you could compensate with some fruit puree like, prune or applesauce.
16:41 wizzyrea or chiles.
16:41 talljoy prunes hide well in chocolate.
16:41 talljoy ooh...chiles.
16:42 talljoy nom nom
16:42 wizzyrea brownies + chiles = omgzors.
16:42 jcamins brownies + chiles = Shari never forgiving me :P
16:42 wizzyrea it's not spicy :)
16:42 talljoy wizzyrea: i had the same thought. about sugar. It is known to draw moisture to it. so i suppose it would do the same in brownies.
16:42 talljoy chocolate and chiles = heaven
16:43 wizzyrea i would guess that the syrup, being liquid, wouldn't have much moisture to draw to it.
16:43 wizzyrea or wouldn't be able to draw much more.
16:43 * wizzyrea is the daughter of a chemist
16:43 talljoy right and the chemical structure is prolly different.
16:43 * talljoy is too
16:43 wizzyrea o/* HIGHFIVE *\o
16:43 talljoy LOL
16:44 jcamins lol
16:45 * jcamins is not.
16:45 jcamins Neither a daughter nor offspring of a chemist. :P
16:45 * magnus_afk neither
16:45 magnus_afk o/* HIGHFIVE *\o
16:45 jcamins LOL
16:45 * kf neither
16:45 jcamins :)
16:45 kf toolate now?
16:45 magnus_afk o/* HIGHFIVE *\o
16:46 kf :)
16:47 jcamins The dryness may also have had something to do with the oven. I will determine this when I have sugar again.
16:47 jcamins Or the fact that I used 100% whole wheat flour.
16:48 wizzyrea hm yea lots going on there.
16:48 jcamins I'm pretty sure it's not that last, though, because I think I did that last time, too.
16:48 jcamins [off] Aren't I sneaky about getting whole grains into my family's diet? ;)
16:49 kf in brownies? very sneaky.
16:49 jcamins :)
16:49 jcamins           Chapati_flour++
16:51 gaetan_B bye!
16:52 jcamins Maybe I should stop by Costco on the way home and buy some flour.
16:52 jcamins Sugar, rather.
16:52 jcamins Though the situation wrt flour is pretty dire, too.
16:52 jcamins Also, chocolate chips. And walnuts. And yeast.
16:53 * jcamins runs around waving his arms in the air because surely the end of the world is nigh!
17:02 jcamins Blacklight has built-in browsing.
17:05 jcamins (that seems to work)
17:05 oleonard Today's conversations are really random and confusing.
17:06 jcamins oleonard: how is this different from any other Monday?
17:06 jcamins oleonard: for that matter, how is this different from any conversation in which I am involved?
17:06 oleonard Mondays are usually less random I think
17:06 * oleonard is in Drupal mode today, so less attentive
17:07 magnus_afk oleonard: wanna upgrade an installation for me? ;-)
17:07 oleonard Does *anyone* want to upgrade Drupal, ever? :P
17:07 oleonard My problem at the moment is planning a D6->D7 upgrade
17:08 magnus_afk ouch, i try not to think about that
17:09 oleonard My incentive is getting to switch to Omega+Delta+Context to get a responsive theme
17:09 oleonard My disincentive is the long list of things that don't get upgraded properly
17:11 magnus_afk gah
17:22 magnus_afk normarc, how do I hate thee? let me count the ways...
17:28 kf lol
17:41 * magnus_afk takes the dogs for a walk
17:49 oleonard man, my history of Drupal tweets is one long bitch session
18:02 cait back
18:03 chris_n oleonard: if I do "var row = tbody.insertRow(lastRow);" how do I reference row and its elements? ie. $(row td).foo
18:03 chris_n ?
18:03 chris_n only that example does not work
18:04 chris_n hi cait
18:04 cait hi chris_n
18:04 oleonard chris_n: I don't know the answer to that
18:04 * chris_n is probably trying to do the impossible
18:05 oleonard Seems like it should be possible
18:07 jcamins chris_n: row.find(something)?
18:07 jcamins row.search?
18:07 jcamins row.child?
18:07 chris_n yes
18:07 jcamins Something like that.
18:07 chris_n I just discovered that
18:07 chris_n what about
18:07 chris_n referencing elements of row
18:07 chris_n like
18:08 chris_n $(#div tbody td)
18:08 chris_n only
18:08 chris_n row td
18:08 chris_n or some such
18:08 chris_n where row is a ref var
18:09 jcamins chris_n: that's what I think you use row.search or row.child for.
18:09 jcamins           .children()
18:10 jcamins row.children('td')
18:10 jcamins Maybe.
18:10 * chris_n takes a deep breath and heads back to the deep end :-)
18:11 chris_n your latter syntax is what I suspect
18:15 chris_n interesting.. I would have expected this to have matched all td children who's id is not no_edit: row.children('td[id!="no_edit"]'
18:15 chris_n )
18:25 jcamins I would like to have a configurable browser, so that I could have a "results browser," and also a tab for a "call number browser."
18:28 jcamins I think this would be nice.
18:28 jcamins If I could easily switch it to be a title browser, that'd be cool, too.
18:28 chris_n I knew I was going at it the hard way
18:29 jcamins chris_n: did you find the easy way?
18:29 chris_n essentially thusly
18:29 chris_n $('#quotes_editor tbody tr:last td').foo
18:30 chris_n whew... I hate wasting an hour on syntax :P
18:32 jcamins chris_n: we hate you doing that, too... you could've spent that hour redoing the cataloging interface. :P
18:32 chris_n lol
18:32 oleonard Quotes editor?
18:33 chris_n yup
18:34 oleonard What is it?
18:34 wahanui or automatically added
18:34 chris_n editing and deleting works; I'm now working up adding
18:34 chris_n for a feature I half added locally several years ago called quote-of-the-day
18:34 chris_n when enabled, it shows a random quote on the opac home page
18:35 chris_n which quote changes daily
18:35 chris_n I have to port it forward for our upgrade to 3.8, so I thought I'd finish it up and submit it for 3.10 at the same time
18:37 sekjal jcamins: I'm thinking of throwing some time at the browser sometime soonish. I'd work on making it input list independent, so the code could be recycled in all kinds of ways
18:39 jcamins That'd be very nice.
18:39 jcamins What language is Evergreen written in?
18:39 oleonard Uruk-hai
18:39 jcamins lol
18:39 cait lol
18:39 sekjal jcamins: perl, I believe
18:40 cait that's what I think too
18:40 sekjal we share SIP code
18:40 cait sekjal: thx for qa
18:40 cait              sekjal++
18:42 jcamins Does Evergreen exclusively use solr as its search engine?
18:42 gmcharlt jcamins: Evergreen doesn't use Solr at all
18:42 jcamins gmcharlt: hooray! You're here!
18:42 gmcharlt it's search is based on Postgres' tsearch2 module
18:42 jcamins gmcharlt: but you use QueryParser?
18:43 jcamins Where you=Evergreen
18:43 gmcharlt well, _a_ QueryParser module, but one that was written bespoke, not taken from CPAN
18:44 * gmcharlt personally uses Human Language Processing v1.0 ;)
18:45 jcamins gmcharlt: ah. Has said QueryParser been released onto CPAN?
18:45 jcamins Or is it integrally tied to Evergreen?
18:46 * jcamins still maintains that the appropriate course of action for search engine independence is to have some sort of query parser.
18:49 gmcharlt jcamins: it would require a bit of surgery, but the query parser itself could be ripped out and made standalone
18:50 jcamins Hm. And I presume the parser uses some sort of data structure that makes queries non-ambiguous?
18:51 gmcharlt it produces a parse tree
18:54 jcamins gmcharlt: sorry, I know that was a bit of a basic question, but having looked at C4::Search, I now appreciate the awesome power of quote 123.
18:54 jcamins ;)
19:01 libsysguy1 so i upgraded to master this morning and just noticed there was an error in basket.js
19:01 libsysguy1 does anybody else see it?
19:01 oleonard On the results page libsysguy1?
19:01 libsysguy1 yes
19:01 jcamins Wasn't there a bug about that over the weekend?
19:01 oleonard A patch for that just passed qa
19:02 oleonard (thanks sekjal)
19:02 * libsysguy must've missed it
19:02 sekjal gladly, oleonard
19:02 sekjal any other broken things in current master that have patches pending?
19:02 libsysguy my poor catalog https://catalog.uttyler.edu/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?q=lasers
19:02 libsysguy lol
19:03 jcamins libsysguy: you're running Master in production! What do you expect? :P
19:03 libsysguy i know
19:03 libsysguy thats why im not b*thc*ng
19:04 libsysguy just making sure i didn't mess it up :p
19:05 jcamins Wait... chocolate avocado muffins?
19:06 jcamins Wow.
19:06 oleonard That doesn't belong in a search result for lasers
19:06 cait libsysguy: you probably don't want to know htat... but your layout iw broken for me
19:06 cait the facets and result list are overlapping, while there is lots of white space on the right side
19:06 jcamins oleonard: No, but it does belong on my table for breakfast.
19:06 jcamins Wow. Broken for me, too.
19:06 jcamins Very broken.
19:07 oleonard Isn't that why he said "my poor catalog?"
19:07 cait [off] http://librarygeekgirl.de/pics/Auswahl_015.png
19:07 drojf lol
19:07 * cait sends cookies to libsysguy's catalog
19:07 drojf wasn't that the point?
19:07 cait I thought he only had the bug for the cart display
19:07 jcamins oleonard: yes, I suppose it is.
19:08 jcamins I didn't actually follow the link until well after I'd stopped thinking about it.
19:08 * cait had a long day
19:08 jcamins I was focusing on avocado chocolate muffins.
19:09 cait totally understandable
19:10 libsysguy cait that is what it looks like for me too
19:11 libsysguy i completely changed the page with js
19:11 libsysguy so one js error and the whole page kind of implodes
19:11 jcamins Speaking of which, did my fix for the browser get in?
19:11 oleonard libsysguy: Bug 7962
19:11 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=7962 major, P5 - low, ---, oleonard, Passed QA , Cart missing from result lists
19:12 oleonard libsysguy: it's a simple fix
19:12 libsysguy ill apply it then deal with the rebase when it gets into master
19:12 libsysguy im amazed that it has been like this for 4 hours and I haven't gotten one call
19:13 libsysguy cait: see http://catalog.uttyler.edu/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?q=lasers
19:13 libsysguy thats what it is supposed to look like
19:13 jcamins Bug 7554
19:13 cait better :)

19:13 libsysguy thanks for the patch oleonard
19:13 jcamins Yes it is, excellent. :)
19:13 cait but what happens if someone has javascript deactivated? :)
19:14 chris_n avocado chocolate muffins... ?
19:14 libsysguy cait then they are going to have a bad time
19:14 chris_n it must be monday
19:14 libsysguy :p
19:14 jcamins Yeah, that's pretty bad.
19:14 jcamins Wow.
19:14 jcamins That's even worse than with broken Javascript.
19:15 libsysguy did you turn off js jcamins?
19:15 jcamins Yup.
19:15 libsysguy or do you mean my layout :p
19:15 jcamins I wanted to know what would happen.
19:15 libsysguy I don't really want to look
19:15 * libsysguy doesn't want the librarians to know either
19:15 libsysguy so jcamins :x
19:15 libsysguy :p
19:15 jcamins No, the layout's pretty nice.
19:16 libsysguy i will admit it doesn't degrade nicely
19:16 libsysguy but without changing the prog theme or copyign it there was really no way go about it
19:16 jcamins libsysguy: at least use CSS to shift the search results over too?
19:17 jcamins I need to test that on my theme.
19:17 libsysguy i think there was some fight I was having with IE trying to do that
19:17 libsysguy and I just gave up and used js
19:18 jcamins Woohoo! Only one problem!

20:32 Morthland Howdy
20:32 Morthland On a fresh install, I run into this error
20:33 Morthland http://pastebin.com/UFZPBJF6
20:35 gmcharlt Morthland: several possibilities
20:36 gmcharlt - the koha database hasn't been created yet
20:36 gmcharlt - it has been created but the grant privleges has been run yet
20:36 gmcharlt - grant priveleges has been run but not flush privileges
20:36 gmcharlt - the database credentials in koha-conf.xml don't match what you set when you created the database and database user
20:37 Morthland where is koha-conf.xml?
20:37 wahanui somebody said koha-conf.xml was a config file, not a port
20:37 gmcharlt Morthland: it can vary slightly - how did you install Koha?
20:37 gmcharlt from package , tarball, or Git clone?
20:37 Morthland Git
20:38 gmcharlt looks like you did so using "standard" mode, so check in /etc/koha
20:39 Morthland where do I see the credentials?
20:40 Morthland Wait,
20:40 gmcharlt look near the bottom of file, for user and password
20:40 Morthland I think I've figured it out
20:40 gmcharlt cool
20:40 Morthland Let me show you what I see
20:41 Morthland http://pastebin.com/gwBeBd69
20:42 gmcharlt weird, so it's copied over the template for koha-conf.xml, but not the version filled out with the parameters you would have chosen when you ran Makefile.PL
20:43 Morthland right now I am in /home/morthland/koha-latest/koha-3.06.04/etc
20:43 Morthland do I need to go to the root instead?
20:43 gmcharlt ah, so you're looking at the template
20:43 gmcharlt what does /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml look like?
20:44 Morthland I see
20:44 Morthland it looks correct
20:44 gmcharlt let's try connecting to the database directly
20:44 gmcharlt e.g.,
20:45 gmcharlt mysql -u koha -pYOURPASSWORD D koha
20:45 gmcharlt make that...
20:45 gmcharlt mysql -u koha -pYOURPASSWORD -D koha
20:46 Morthland it says denied
20:47 mveron rangi: I refactured Bug 7621 using framework/biblioitems as suggested.
