21:42 rhcl_home I used to go to different things, but then stopped while I was doing my MS, so I'll probably start getting out more now.
21:41 chris thats probably a good reason to go ;)
21:41 chris oh i dunno
21:41 rhcl_home I'm barely aware there are two different lengths of ISBNs
21:40 rhcl_home Actually I'm more tech than library, so it's logical that they wouldn't send me.
21:40 chris sweet
21:40 rhcl_home We're sending a whole contingent though, like five people.
21:40 chris ah bummer
21:40 rhcl_home No, I'm not high enough on the feeding chain. :)
21:40 brendan Santa Barbara is about 1.5 hours north of LA
21:39 chris are you going rhcl_home ?

18:47 brendan would be cool if they did
18:47 brendan wasn't able to make it into the archives
18:47 brendan was pretty cool (although I wasn't a crazy fan of reagan) but it was still cool to see Air force one
18:47 chris_n :)
18:47 chris_n neat... do they use Koha?
18:46 brendan well... Inside today - but went to he regan presidential library yesterday
18:46 chris_n howdy brendan, how's it going out west?

11:54 Musab How can I understand the meaning and the purpose of each columns in the sql database of koha
11:52 Musab Hi there
11:14 genji haven't seen any authentication loopholes in koha anyway. its pretty airtight.
11:13 genji not like hackers are attacking.
11:13 genji i can wait.
11:13 genji braedon|home: hey, thats fine.
11:02 braedon|home sorry i can't be of more assistance
11:00 braedon|home and assuming ubuntu didn't break something with their modifications...
10:59 braedon|home so i suppose you could check the debian version against the ubuntu one
10:59 braedon|home all i can tell you is that it worked fine for both Koha 3.00.05 and 3.2 alpha with the standard versions from the Ubuntu repositories, a month ago
10:57 genji and this was straight off a centos 5.2 iso.
10:57 braedon|home ok
10:57 braedon|home i don't have access to any Koha systems atm, so i can't even check what versions we had running. i really should set up my own testing VMs....
10:57 genji its libxml was too new for LibXML
10:56 genji had this problem with trying to use Centos.
10:56 genji yeah.. well.. go too far with libxml upgrades, and LibXML won't install... and downgrading is difficult.
10:55 braedon|home we didn't have any problems once that was done
10:54 braedon|home the only issues i remember related to libxml, we with the default sax parser
10:53 braedon|home haha, switching to ubuntu to be able to take my advice would not be, well, advisable lol :)
10:52 genji yeah... can't really switch distros now, the hosting machine is now public.
10:51 braedon|home probably best to wait for someone with longer term management knowledge
10:50 braedon|home not sure i will be able to help you unfortunately. The only systems i updated were actually ubuntu(we switched halfway through deployment), and we never had any issues with libXML after initial install
10:49 genji can't afford mistakes.
10:48 genji braedon|home: How do you update debian, without killing koha? it has version dependancy issues with libxml and LibXML and so forth.. that im afraid to security patch it.
10:48 braedon|home o, your question about libXML earlier?
10:47 braedon|home (at uni again now)
10:47 braedon|home did temporarily, over the summer
10:46 genji braedon|home: You run a koha/debian system?
10:46 genji braedon|home:
10:46 genji got a cube running, didn't see your messge.
10:46 * braedon|home curses the continual uncertainty created by the butchered spelling of his name, and returns to idleing
10:46 genji oh.. sorry
10:45 braedon|home ok, apparently not me then :P
10:37 braedon|home are you meaning me? or brendan? or someone actually called brandon?
10:36 genji brandon, you unidle?
10:13 genji hiya all. okay, im quite paranoid about updating my production machines without breaking koha... and its specific libXML version requirements, so easy to break... how do i ensure i can upgrade the system without koha being broken?
