19:03 caroline JasonGreene[m], by user page, do you mean the OPAC?
19:00 JasonGreene[m] Is there a Howto to remove or replace the upper left KOHA emblem on the user page?
17:42 cait trying to find my path right now
17:41 cait crown? not one of those fancy diadems? it's a little heavy I think :)
17:20 caroline ah found it! AllowReturnToBranch
17:16 caroline I thought there was a way to block the return of items at another branch, did I imagine that?
16:56 oleonard How does the crown fit cait?

16:08 ashimema and I'm interested in suggestions for my comment there 😜

16:08 ashimema bug 35504 ready for a quick QA
16:07 JasonGreene[m] https://techgrind.org/how-to-change-default-port-http-80-and-https-443-in-apache-on-ubuntu/
16:07 JasonGreene[m] I found an answer that worked on this page
16:00 Joubu ho sorry, misread the question, it's too late apparently for me..
16:00 JasonGreene[m] Followed online instructions ... I don't remember "default vhost" part...
15:59 Joubu did you remove the default vhost?
15:59 Joubu how did you install?
15:58 Joubu :q
15:57 JasonGreene[m] maybe remove "Listen 80" in /etc/apache2/ports.conf ???
15:56 JasonGreene[m] Hello all... We got our data out of Primasoft Handy Library Manager and into Koha. we set up two VirtualHost 8001 and 8002 ..... what setting needs to change to get apache's port 80 to go to Koha? I can't find an answer online? Thanks

13:50 cait bug 35504
13:49 cait I am just creating a bug for it
13:49 cait ashimema: could you take care of the release team update again?
13:47 cait ye,s the patron protection should work for everyone
13:46 aw-bib[m] ah so the idea of said setting is to also allow it for mere mortals.
13:46 cait it can be used or staff or normal users, independently of anything else
13:46 cait you just set a flag in the account
13:46 cait yes it is
13:45 huginn` aw-bib[m]: downloading the Perl source
13:45 aw-bib[m] @cait you mentioned yesterday a new setting for patrons that does not allow deletion. I wonder if this is entirely independent from the magic S
13:43 cait             ashimema++ Joubu++ # hand holding :)
13:37 cait well I'd try it out - or maybe look in the Codebase for "S"? :)
13:37 cait i don't think so - i think that only goes by permissions
13:35 aude_c[m] Are they affected also by the "AllowStaffOverride" -type of system preferences?
13:31 cait and they can't change each others passwords int he staff interface I think
13:31 cait i know that S types are excluded from batch deletion via the anomyziation tool
13:31 cait it does, but the question is if the stuff it does is important
13:30 aw-bib[m] the latter I can assure. I just set the patron category statically. it's more for all gurus out here: does koha at some point do stuff like if patroncategory eq 'S' then { magic() } or is it enough to have some category and the rest is done by permissions only.
13:26 cait but a patron category cannot be created without a type and evry patron should have a patron category
13:26 cait i believe we had that by accident fora w hile
13:26 cait i think you can have it in the Adult patron type
13:11 ashimema erm.. my gut tells me it's rather important aw-bib.. but I've not every actually tried to run without a patrontype
13:10 ashimema cait++ # first master commit for the new and all powerful RM 🙂
12:51 aw-bib[m] me unless I need to have STAFF in the STAFF patron type.
12:51 aw-bib[m] hi! may I ask how important it is for koha to get the patrontype right? say: our ldap-server has no attribute that I can use to discriminate users and I have to set it to some static value. (patron seems sensible) so, if I enable updating from ldap during login all users I promoted to STAFF manually get demoted to patron again. as our loan periods are not effected by the patrons type (all * are created equal...) this does not hurt
12:48 ashimema correct
12:25 cait ashimema: we are updating to 23.12.00 now, right?
12:19 paulderscheid[m] Hi #koha
11:03 ashimema no worries
10:50 Joubu yes, me too! but apparently I've not played with it for a while!
10:50 ashimema I'll have a go at this end.. was hoping there was a quick win 😜
10:50 ashimema that's even more work than me getting one going
10:50 ashimema ha, no worries
10:49 Joubu not trivial, it's a backup and not restored. lxc not installed, missing logical volume, not enough disk space, etc. :D
10:42 ashimema I do aim to get a bugzilla up and running locally, but I'm not there yet
10:41 huginn` 04Bug https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=35503 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, jonathan.druart+koha, NEW , Increase 'status' column size in bugslist
10:41 ashimema any chance you could verify my patch on bug 35503 pretty please?
10:40 Joubu looks like I have a lxc box
10:40 Joubu I should have one, yes
10:28 ashimema do you have a local bz installed for testing Joubu?
10:24 cait             ashimema++
10:24 cait thank you
10:15 ashimema ryan is looking into it for me 🙂
09:05 cait and maybe we should document
09:05 cait thanks, that would be helpful
09:05 ashimema I'll ask Ryan if he understands the process for having them marked dealt with
09:05 cait hm
09:04 ashimema Some upstart I reckon..
09:04 ashimema We reported them as they came up in a pen test.. but they just reported that they'd already been reported by someone else
09:03 ashimema Afraid not
09:00 cait i think it was someone outside the project - ashimema you guys reported the bugs, do you know?
09:00 Joubu I guess the one who reported the CVE can update it with a link to the fix
08:53 cait oh the quiet... :)
08:45 cait another question - how are CVE handled? Is it expected that you report hte fix somehow?
08:45 huginn` Joubu: The operation succeeded.
08:45 Joubu @later tell oleonard I would like to get back to bug 35329, did you have a look?
08:42 cait Joubu++ thx for the meeting page
08:37 cait thx!
08:34 Joubu yup
08:33 ashimema sure
08:33 cait ashimema Joubu can one of you later check before I try my first push? I need some more time, but it's a goal for today :)
08:32 cait thanks!
08:28 Joubu https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Development_IRC_meeting_13_December_2023
08:25 cait so December 13 13 UTC
08:24 cait we had 13 UTC last time, maybe let's pick that
08:24 cait let me check
08:24 Joubu 14UTC?
08:23 cait because with christmas etc we will probably have a meeting break
08:23 cait and then I'd set the date for the roadmap end of december I think
08:23 cait what if we did next week? I'd like to discuss the roadmap items
08:23 Joubu manually
08:23 Joubu pick a date and I will to it
08:23 cait so we don't have a "Next" date for the script, right?
08:23 cait it looks like it didn't happen yes
08:22 Joubu there is no minutes for this one
08:22 cait last I fond was this: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Development_IRC_meeting_15_November_2023
08:22 Joubu yes
08:21 cait well... not necessarily quickly but do you have a moment to help me get it right?
08:21 cait Joubu: could you help me quickly scheduling a new dev meeting?
08:20 cait a new bugzilla sounds great
08:20 cait cool
08:20 cait good morning all
08:19 ashimema Dave reckons there's another couple of weeks worth of work for release
08:19 ashimema Correct
08:18 Joubu this is the one to track it seems https://github.com/bugzilla/harmony
08:17 ashimema jus caught dave in the bugzilla channel
08:17 ashimema indeed
08:17 Joubu "So if you did upgrade to 5.0.6, 5.2 will be equivalent to a point upgrade for you" - and this is the good news
08:17 ashimema but nothing seems to have actually happened since
08:16 Joubu ashimema: and https://www.bugzilla.org/blog/2022/12/13/upcoming-releases-and-more-fun-stuff/ which I read at the time
08:16 ashimema indeed
08:16 Joubu ashimema: https://www.bugzilla.org/blog/2023/08/26/bugzilla-celebrates-25-years/
08:13 ashimema https://github.com/bugzilla/bugzilla/blob/5.0.4/template/en/default/list/table.html.tmpl looks like where it's coded
08:04 reiveune hello

07:26 ashimema Found it.. we also have a bugs component under koha
07:25 ashimema I only see 2 bugs ever in the bz componenet
07:24 ashimema And others that have been fixed and closed
07:24 ashimema Could have sworn there was a theme update one from ptfs-e jake
07:24 ashimema Am I going mad.. I thought there were more bugs reported there

07:22 ashimema https://www.bugzilla.org/ looks fresh and modern again... But the screenshots are of the experimental Mozilla fork I think, not the current stable.. it looks way more modern than ours
07:21 ashimema I wish there were more obvious progress in hostel bugzilla
07:18 ashimema Okies
07:18 Joubu I have not done anything
07:17 ashimema I don't know that they added a bug for it . I suggested they do but I'm not seeing one
07:16 ashimema Or did you mean you've done Aude and Caroline's request already?
07:16 ashimema So the process is to create a patch and ask rangi to apply . I could have a go at that
07:11 ashimema Haha, you can talk.. I'm always amazed at your dedication davidnind, you shine bright
07:11 Joubu ashimema: I don't have access to bugzilla's code. But I already sent patches to Chris and he applied them.
07:09 davidnind such dedication!
07:08 ashimema Doing my usual morning email catch-up from bed right now 😉
07:08 davidnind        ashimema++
07:08 ashimema I'll try to remember to fix that when I get up proper
07:08 ashimema Haha, there's a typo in there.. STMP
07:07 ashimema https://koha-community.org/manual/latest/en/html/administration.html#smtp-servers
07:06 davidnind That looks great - just point to an SMTP server (for example, your organisation's one), then emails will be sent. (once you've configured the various email addresses, and have email addresses for your patrons)
07:02 ashimema Koha used to send from localhost, and still does by default, that's when you need an MTA installed and configured.
07:02 * ashimema takes a peak at the code
07:01 ashimema Hmm, is that still true now we have the SMTP settings pages?
06:51 Zahid[m] davidnind: thanks for replying
06:43 davidnind Bear in mind that for a production environment configuring an MTA and reliably sending email can be a challenging process (so I understand anyway!)
06:42 davidnind I've only setup email in the testing environment, so have no idea what else you need to do to configure email sending correctly - hopefully others can help
06:41 davidnind Zahid: you have to install and configure an MTA (Mail Transport Agent), or have one available somewhere that you can use
06:04 Zahid[m] or just i have to add smtp parameters in koha in smtp server page for enabling email.
06:04 Zahid[m] * I want to know is there any package should i have to install in koha, for enabling email server
06:03 Zahid[m] or just i have to add smtp parameters in koha in smtp server page for enabling email.
06:03 Zahid[m] I want to know is there any package should be installed in koha for enabling email server
06:00 Zahid[m] Hi,
