09:30 davewood im trying to run koha 23.05.04 with debian 12.1 ... ESv 7.17.13 but cant build Search::Eleasticsearch::Client 7_0 (details: https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch-perl/issues/238)
09:30 davewood did any of you guys manage to make this work?
12:17 cait1 davewood: sorry, no Elasticsearch for us yet. Weekends are very quiet around here
12:17 cait1 @later tell fridolin can you please have another look at bug 33606?
12:17 huginn cait1: The operation succeeded.
19:09 mjkerpan[m] So I tried to restore a Koha instance on a new system and I got this as an error: cannot stat initial working directory for /home/koha/Downloads: Permission denied at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl-base/File/Temp.pm line 917.
19:09 mjkerpan[m] cannot stat initial working directory for /home/koha/Downloads: Permission denied at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl-base/File/Temp.pm line 917.
19:10 mjkerpan[m] Does anybody have a clue as to what might being going on and what I need to do to fix it?
19:17 davidnind Hi mjkerpan - I don't myself, and it's normally quite quiet here at this time...
19:18 davidnind Are you trying to just restore the instance from just the database, or the whole system?
19:20 mjkerpan[m] Trying to use koha-restore
19:23 davidnind I've never tried it myself, so can't offer any advice
19:24 davidnind One way would be to create a new instance with the same instance name as the one you are restoring, then empty the database and then load your database backup into that
19:25 mjkerpan[m] I've used koha-restore before when we migrated to our current server and it more or less just worked
19:26 mjkerpan[m] Either something broke over the last few years or Debian 12 does weird things with permissions
19:26 mjkerpan[m] Oh well, I'll keep the chat open to see if anybody else has advice
19:30 davidnind I would suggest adding a bug on bugzilla as well, particularly as it has worked for you in the past
22:49 tuxayo Does anyone know if it's possible with KTD to start with a like ES7 and then shutdown the ES7 container and start an ES8 instead
22:49 tuxayo To simulate an upgrade.
22:50 tuxayo Crap, the index would be lost anyway.
