03:42 tuxayo Hopefully we can get enough people[1] to regularly test patches and get the need signoff queue down! 🤞
03:42 tuxayo [1] and librarians, that would be new blood in the community so the best to get more development throughput

09:35 cait1 and it's still an issue in 22.05.04
09:36 marcelr could that be 31223

10:31 oleonard Hi #koha
10:32 ashimema Morning oleonard
10:32 ashimema prepare to be pounced upon by cait1 😛
10:33 cait1 oh hey
10:33 wahanui hi, cait1
10:35 cait1 and morning oleonard :)
10:44 oleonard Anyone else feel hung over from trying to keep up with all the Queen memes yesterday? It was hard work.
10:44 ashimema lol
10:46 cait1 wel, soon there will be King memes I guess
11:14 oleonard So the latest version of bug 30952 has a modified version of my search header design...
11:14 huginn` Bug https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=30952 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, julian.maurice, Needs Signoff , New design for staff interface
11:14 oleonard This process is so confusing.
11:15 cait1 agreed
11:23 ashimema 39052n is the biblibre sandbox.. I added 39052o tracking your branch Owen
11:24 ashimema I added 'n' because I didn't think I could delete their original sandbox.. but it turns out I could
11:24 ashimema their original was plain broken
11:27 cait1 I found an issue only in Owen's branch.... and now I don't knwo what to do lol
11:29 ashimema tell him 😛
11:29 oleonard I don't see my branch going anywhere
11:31 ashimema I think whatever we do with the search bar stuff is going to be somewhat contentious
11:32 ashimema I find the tiny icons really hard to remember and click.. but I'm sure the muscle memory will grow
11:34 cait1 no i think you are right
11:34 cait1 it's much less intiuitive and the click area is too small
11:34 cait1 I like Owen's better, it has text
11:35 cait1 oleonard's I mean
11:35 cait1 and it gives us more room to add custom nav links
11:35 ashimema I do and I don't ;P.. I think Owens is certainly clearer and better for accessibility.. but the look of the deeper header and inline search there has grown on me.
11:35 cait1 look < functionality/usability
11:35 ashimema but I also an english only testing.. so the space constraints aren't so apparent to me.
11:36 ashimema how do you get the language menu at the top instead of the bottom cait?
11:37 cait1 i didn't know that existed until now - but it's a preference in the staffinterface tab
11:37 ashimema aha.. found it.
11:38 ashimema hehe
11:38 * ashimema is basically turning things on to see what they do
11:40 oleonard Are y'all looking at a sandbox?
11:41 cait1 yes
11:41 cait1 or multiple, to make it more confusing
11:43 ashimema multiple
11:43 ashimema https://staff-bug30952n.sandboxes.biblibre.eu/
11:43 ashimema biblibre only submission
11:43 ashimema https://staff-bug30952o.sandboxes.biblibre.eu/
11:44 oleonard The Biblibre one is out of date: https://snipboard.io/EncSfi.jpg
11:44 ashimema with your search bar stuff.
11:44 ashimema how
11:44 ashimema where is that one from?
11:44 ashimema I only created the biblibre one this morning
11:45 oleonard Latest commit was around 2 hours ago
11:47 ashimema OK.. spinning up yet another sandbox
11:47 oleonard Hence my comment about the new search header being incorporated
11:47 ashimema I totally missed that comment
11:47 cait1 jajm: around?
11:47 ashimema 'tis moving fast now
11:47 cait1 'tis is a good sign
11:47 cait1 let us know which one please, I am slightly confused :)
11:48 jajm cait1: i'm here, but in a meeting right now
11:50 ashimema cait1: bug30952r is spinning up and grabs the very latest code from their github
11:50 cait1 ah ok
11:50 cait1 jajm: just so you know: there is things I DO like - but I can't file the likes
11:55 ashimema just building the css on that one now cait1, then it's ready to play with
11:55 cait1 yep, waiting it out
11:55 ashimema well.. I can show my colleagues the progress in my meeting in the few mins.. lol
11:56 ashimema all ready
11:57 cait1 link?
11:57 wahanui link is strange, add / at the end
11:57 ashimema https://staff-bug30952r.sandboxes.biblibre.eu/cgi-bin/koha/mainpage.pl
11:58 cait1 forget link
11:58 wahanui cait1: I forgot link
11:58 cait1 much improved for the search
11:58 ashimema indeed
12:00 cait1 I still have the jumpy numbers :(
12:01 ashimema oh dear
12:01 cait1 oleonard: you are also using windows, right? do you see them too? https://github.com/jajm/koha-staff-interface-redesign/issues/20
12:01 wahanui okay, cait1.
12:03 oleonard cait1: I'm currently on a Mac, and I don't see them. I'll be able to look on a PC later today.
12:07 cait1 ok, thanks
12:07 cait1 it's consistent for me with chrome and firefox...
12:58 cait1 oh, i thought i missed all the action now... but nothing happened here?
12:59 oleonard Action?
12:59 wahanui Action is to make lots of actions
12:59 cait1 the testing action :)
12:59 cait1 jumpy numbers in all our team btw - I asked the coworkers to have a look
13:10 ashimema My colleagues aren't all that keen on Poppins either cait1.. they're suggesting 'Open Sans' or 'Fira Sans' as alternatives
13:10 ashimema brb
13:11 cait1 maybe comment on the fonts bug?
13:11 paulderscheid[m] font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol";
13:11 paulderscheid[m] I would argue that the best font for work is the native system font
13:11 cait1 as this is such a central thing I am keen that we make a good standard choice
13:11 paulderscheid[m] This is also a plus for responsiveness
13:12 cait1 i think comment on the github woudl be good
13:12 cait1 so far it was only me raising issues
13:12 cait1 https://github.com/jajm/koha-staff-interface-redesign/issues/20
13:12 cait1 we just had the other non-Koha cowrokers take a look - filing their feedback as we "write"
13:23 oleonard Fira Sans: https://snipboard.io/gFfCan.jpg
13:23 oleonard Open Sans: https://snipboard.io/F6IxL8.jpg
13:24 ashimema we've just been going over stuff.. finished my meeting now and they've all gone off to play
13:24 ashimema we will be commenting soon
13:25 ashimema One of them just suggested perhaps it's actually just the font weighting that's too high.. i don't know how specific we've been about picking this stuff before now or not
13:26 ashimema but I imagine weight can be rather different between fonts
13:27 ashimema table headers are 700 weight at the minute.. maybe just reducing them to 500 would help?
13:27 ashimema for example
13:27 oleonard Papyrus: https://snipboard.io/SVFi6k.jpg :D
13:28 ashimema love
13:29 cait1 papyrus might be for the people dealing with rare books :)
13:30 cait1 i thnk Fira is a little rounder somehow?
13:30 cait1 would be my favourite for now
13:31 cait1 help.... what is the thing in front of a list item called again?
13:32 drbone dash?
13:32 cait1 not the one I was looking for, but valid
13:33 cait1 list style button?
13:33 cait1 list style type
13:34 cait1 bullet point?
13:35 oleonard MDN calls it a "marker," probably because "bullet" has bad associations
13:35 cait1 oh
13:36 cait1 too late now
13:36 cait1 https://github.com/jajm/koha-staff-interface-redesign/issues/29
13:36 oleonard No big deal.
13:54 cait1 add item form is pretty broken
14:00 Shane-S Hi all, what DB field in items = the visual field of Inventory Number when looking at an item in OPAC?
14:01 Shane-S https://schema.koha-community.org/22_05/tables/items.html not seeing anything with Inventory Number
14:02 caroline_catlady Shane-S, i think you're looking for stocknumber
14:02 Shane-S ty ill try that
14:02 cait1 Shane-S: inventory number is not visible in the OPAC
14:02 cait1 do you mean barcode?
14:03 Shane-S Yeppers...I did copynumber thanks
14:03 cait1 copynumber is a part of the callnumber
14:03 Shane-S no stocknumber was the Inventory Number on the items view page
14:03 cait1 well - like an addition to it, as I understand it
14:03 cait1 hm ok
14:03 caroline_catlady I think it depends on your cataloging, here copy number is separate form clalnumber
14:03 cait1 ah ok
14:04 cait1            caroline_catlady++ :)
14:05 caroline_catlady with that said, I think none of my libraries use copynumber... I just transfer it for them from their old system that adds it automatically, but it doesn't change anything in Koha
14:05 ashimema /me goes for a quick walk
14:05 ashimema bbiab
14:05 caroline_catlady They do use enumchron a lot, on spine labels too
14:06 cait1 similar here - I think only one library that might use copynumber
14:06 cait1 I think I was told in the past that you printed it on the labels to differentiate multiple copies with same callnumber
14:07 caroline_catlady stocknumber we use for automatic import of ebooks from the ebook lending platform
14:08 caroline_catlady maybe copynumber makes sense in some types of libraries, but in public libraries here, if you have one copy or 15 copies, it doesn't really matter which one is #1, #2, etc
14:08 caroline_catlady I guess it's the same with yours
14:19 cait1 stocknumber is different here :)
14:19 cait1 we actually have inventory numbers
14:19 cait1 usually a combination of year and a sequential number
15:31 reiveune bye
18:16 milktoast now KOHA is running and the web test is wanting Elasticsearch
18:17 milktoast I tried to apt install it and gettin

19:37 tuxayo @later tell milktoast great so it seems your install went further. «the web test is wanting Elasticsearch» what do you mean? If you don't need specifically ES, don't bother with it. About Java, it's widely documented how to install on Ubuntu so hopefully it shouldn't block you long.
