Time Nick Message
21:30 ashimema Well, it's not changed since he's first went in as far as I can tell... So there's lots of more recent Prefs missing from it
21:29 cait good question, no idea :)
21:28 * ashimema doesn't know why MaxFine isn't in the list
21:28 ashimema How was the sysprefs whitelist derived for HEA and are we as QA team responsible for working out if new Prefs should be added to that whitelist as Prefs are added?
21:27 ashimema it's made me ask lots of surrounding questions . Like
21:27 ashimema I've been hacking away on fines handling.. the logic in here ain't half confusing..
21:26 ashimema All seems good, busy busy as ever..
21:18 cait how are things with #koha?
21:16 cait some more tried to get in... i hope we wll have a bigger room next year
21:16 cait the user group meeting went well :) we had a room with 21 seats and managed to cram 42 people in
21:16 cait we are done
21:12 ashimema cait , how goes it
21:12 cait #koha
21:12 cait y

19:35 kathryn hi wizzyrea :)
19:34 wizzyrea hi kathryn
19:29 wizzyrea hi rangi
19:23 rangi morning
19:21 huginn` corilynn: The operation succeeded.
19:21 corilynn @later tell alex_a that corilynn is okay with the direction he wants to take with bugs: 19265, 19266, 19269, and 19270
17:55 * oleonard hadn't noticed that that had made it in
17:54 wizzyrea ooh when did we get notes in the circ rules that's neat
16:45 * wizzyrea is not fussed
16:44 ashimema chat isn't a good medium sometimes
16:44 wizzyrea tbf it was in a period of "all the projects" ^.^
16:44 ashimema we all end up with things that are not upstreamed
16:43 ashimema it was a friendly glare ;)
16:43 wizzyrea that's really just not required
16:43 wizzyrea oh don't glare at rangi
16:41 koha-jenkins Project Koha_18.11_D9 build #53: FIXED in 26 min: https://jenkins.koha-community.org/job/Koha_18.11_D9/53/
16:41 koha-jenkins Yippee, build fixed!
16:41 wizzyrea that'll be good for Toi Ohomai, will make their stuff a lot easier
16:41 oleonard Yes!
16:40 ashimema :)
16:40 wizzyrea bc news
16:40 wizzyrea oh those should be translatable anyway yeah?
16:40 wizzyrea :)
16:40 huginn` Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=22318 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, oleonard, Passed QA , Extend Koha news feature to include other content areas
16:40 * oleonard discretely indicates bug 22318
16:40 wizzyrea but you could do it to all of them
16:40 wizzyrea I think they only did the ones we were using
16:39 wizzyrea yep
16:39 oleonard So is it the "eval" filter which is missing?
16:39 wizzyrea and else the other languages until you've got them all translated
16:38 wizzyrea      [% IF $lang == "en" %] <do this thing> ... etc
16:38 wizzyrea you put TT directives in your sysprefs
16:38 oleonard How does it work wizzyrea ?
16:38 * ashimema glares at rangi ;)
16:37 ashimema boooo
16:37 wizzyrea but it's a real easy fix
16:37 ashimema :(
16:37 wizzyrea it looks like it never made it upstream :(
16:36 ashimema is it documented.. I'd not realised you could do that
16:36 wizzyrea http://git.catalyst.net.nz/gw?p=koha.git;a=commit;h=7919feea6322ec2c5f9b6b231c30f9fe4a4b77b4 this was the code to do it
16:34 wizzyrea if not in
16:34 wizzyrea i'm feeling like that code to do it was at the very least submitted to Koha
16:34 reiveune bye
16:33 wizzyrea er no
16:33 wizzyrea yep
16:33 oleonard wizzyrea: Is the te reo Māori version customized?
16:32 oleonard (which reminds me to wonder why the language-picker isn't on the login page)
16:32 mifantrax i will look into that
16:32 mifantrax ok, thank you very much
16:31 wizzyrea this one, for example, in te reo Māori
16:31 wizzyrea https://toiohomai.mykoha.co.nz/
16:30 wizzyrea in multiple languages
16:30 wizzyrea I know of libraries that have customised their html blocks
16:30 wizzyrea so you could do conditionals
16:30 wizzyrea mifantrax, i thought we had some code in that let you TT in there
16:30 ashimema ta
16:30 ashimema okies
16:29 oleonard ashimema: I do not know
16:29 ashimema neither opac-account.tt and pay.tt seem to use it.
16:29 oleonard mifantrax: Unfortunately no. The OpacLoginInstructions preference is global for all languages
16:29 ashimema is there a reason we don't use the accounts.inc include for all cases that you know of oleonard?
16:28 mifantrax one more question, is it possible to customize it in fuction of the language chosen my the patron ?
16:28 * oleonard was wrong to hope this was a library for Turner Classic Movies
16:28 mifantrax i will look again,
16:27 mifantrax i might have done something wrong
16:27 mifantrax thank you for your info
16:27 mifantrax strange, i thought i tried that and it did not help.
16:26 oleonard mifantrax: There is a system preference, OpacLoginInstructions, for changing the text which appears below the login form
16:25 mifantrax thank you
16:24 mifantrax https://library.tcmi.edu/
16:24 mifantrax this is the page
16:24 mifantrax good afternoon everyone, i would like to change the text displayed on the koha login page, as we use GoogleOpenID and also username and password authentication, are there system preferences for that ?
16:23 wizzyrea this is a strong case for working from the library
16:20 * ashimema has the same problem
16:20 koha-jenkins Project Koha_18.05_D9 build #240: FIXED in 40 min: https://jenkins.koha-community.org/job/Koha_18.05_D9/240/
16:20 koha-jenkins Yippee, build fixed!
16:16 ashimema lol
16:16 oleonard If I worked from home the snack police would have to become quite draconian
16:16 wizzyrea these are not things people should keep in my house.
16:16 wizzyrea also oreos.
16:15 wizzyrea and why do people who live in my house (not me) keep buying them
16:15 wizzyrea why do stupid crunchy cheetos have to taste so good
16:07 alex_a lol
16:06 kidclamp alex_a^
16:05 kidclamp Functionally it is probably fine, but that one and dependency may need unit tests, will let QA seek them first :-)
16:05 wizzyrea golly
16:04 koha-jenkins Project Koha_18.05_U18 build #240: FIXED in 27 min: https://jenkins.koha-community.org/job/Koha_18.05_U18/240/
16:04 koha-jenkins Yippee, build fixed!
16:04 * oleonard thinks wizzyrea is international and cosmopolitan
16:03 wizzyrea or at least think i'm uncultured swine, which is actually probably true.
16:03 corilynn for those that know me, laughing is my most likely response to nearly every situation
16:03 wizzyrea and I don't know if you'd laugh or hate me
16:03 corilynn wizzyrea, I'm cool
16:03 wizzyrea corilynn, it's too bad I don't know you better because I have the most inappropriate response to that handshake thing
16:03 huginn` Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=19270 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, nick, ASSIGNED , Advanced Editor - Rancor - Add ability to search batches on arbitrary marc fields
16:03 alex_a kidclamp, i rebased bug 19270. Do you think it needs more work or can it be signed off ?
16:01 ashimema hehe
16:01 ashimema aw, shucks
16:01 corilynn my hubs is QA, so I know of the secret handshakes and stuff
16:01 alex_a Gods want cash. QA team is free corilynn
16:01 corilynn okay, I thought so, just checking
16:01 alex_a corilynn, we are waiting on the QA team :)
16:00 corilynn I highly doubt that, ashimema
16:00 ashimema lol
16:00 * ashimema hasn't been called a god before
16:00 oleonard Dang it!
16:00 * oleonard will now stay silent until he forgets he read kidclamp's message
15:59 corilynn also, alex_a, are we waiting on the gods that are QA before we move on with the rest of the patches?
15:59 corilynn thx, alex_a
15:59 huginn` kidclamp: The operation succeeded.
15:59 kidclamp @later tell oleonard keep up the great work, and you are a sharp dresser
15:58 corilynn I was just thinking I was out of the loop somehow
15:58 ashimema lol
15:58 * kidclamp clamp clamp clamp
15:58 corilynn oooooooh okay
15:58 * oleonard is always fishing for @laters when greeting the room
15:58 kidclamp don't blame my momma for my mistakes
15:58 alex_a corilynn, 'cause i got a weird conflict when applying again the patches
15:58 oleonard kidclamp: That's why you say hello, didn't your momma raise you right?
15:57 corilynn kidclamp is always needed
15:57 kidclamp but no...kidclamp is not needed
15:57 kidclamp that was an "oh i didn't sign in this morning. Any laters?"
15:57 ashimema it's more how to display.. I like the bracket approach.. or it could be a further field in the tables or anything else (a hover effect.. I don't like that idea myself)..
15:57 corilynn i.e. how did you know to obsolete the patches, alex_a?
15:56 ashimema agreed
15:56 corilynn where did the bugs come frome?
15:56 alex_a i don't know
15:56 wizzyrea why ware we dotting
15:56 wizzyrea .
15:56 alex_a +s
15:56 alex_a -s
15:56 alex_a Problably a misstake when signing off
15:55 alex_a corilynn, i've obsoleted this 2 patch
15:55 corilynn ..
15:55 koha-jenkins Project Koha_18.05_D8 build #244: FIXED in 19 min: https://jenkins.koha-community.org/job/Koha_18.05_D8/244/
15:55 koha-jenkins Yippee, build fixed!
15:55 oleonard .
15:55 kidclamp .
15:55 wizzyrea i mean it's a great word its just not a common word
15:55 wizzyrea you could also say "Fine (accruing)" but accruing is a terrible word
15:54 corilynn i'm here alex_a
15:54 alex_a oleonard, corilynn ?
15:54 * alex_a just finished a meeting
15:54 wizzyrea right, the intent is the same, it's an accruing fine
15:53 ashimema I got 'unreturned' from a rangi comment somewhere.. 'FU' was originally coined for Fine Unreturned (I always thought it was (fine updating)
15:53 wizzyrea so you don't need to say anything more about it
15:53 wizzyrea fine - returned is basically just a fine
15:53 wizzyrea bah let me go back
15:53 wizzyrea so you could just say "Fine"
15:52 ashimema That's kinda what led me down this in the first place
15:52 wizzyrea Fine - unreturned is basically just a fine right?
15:52 ashimema I've also given VOID the same treatment in nother bug.. is now keeps its original accounttype and gets a status of VOID instead.. I didn't like that you lost the type of the credit you were voiding
15:51 wizzyrea so you could say something like Fine (Unreturned item)
15:51 ashimema But it could in the future include LOST for example
15:50 ashimema So right now I've kept the three states that already existed for fines.. 'FU' could become either 'F' or 'FFOR'.. do.. I've changed that to 'OVERDUE' as the accounttype and 'UNRETURNED', 'RETURNED' and 'FORGIVEN' as the states
15:50 corilynn or, rather, am unaware of...
15:50 oleonard No
15:50 corilynn is there a line of communication, oleonard, that I'm not privy to?
15:50 corilynn kewl, but generally, where did those bugs come from?
15:49 oleonard corilynn: The comment was made by alex_a who appears to not be around at the moment
15:48 ashimema Sorry, was on school run
15:47 corilynn is there some line of communication I'm not in?
15:46 corilynn where did those bugs come from?
15:46 corilynn but those two bugs don't seem to have any thing to do with this?
15:45 corilynn I've been knee deep in another proj
15:45 huginn` Bug 18823: enhancement, P5 - low, ---, carnold, Signed Off , Advanced editor - Rancor - add ability to edit records in import batches
15:45 corilynn https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=18823#c79
15:45 oleonard Oh yes alex_a was looking for you earlier
15:45 corilynn and there were two bugs mentioned in comment 79
15:44 corilynn got a re-base today?
15:44 huginn` Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=18823 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, carnold, Signed Off , Advanced editor - Rancor - add ability to edit records in import batches
15:44 corilynn sorry, trying to form them. So, my friend bug 18823
15:44 oleonard corilynn: Do we get to see them? :)
15:42 corilynn hi, ya'll, I have questions
15:41 * oleonard waves to wizzyrea
15:39 wizzyrea what are your statuses?
15:39 wizzyrea well "account type" has always been a bit confusing
15:37 wizzyrea and how to show that?
15:37 wizzyrea so you're talking about the distinction between a fine that isn't accruing, and one that is?
15:30 ashimema But longer term it might be nice to do something else
15:29 ashimema I could map stuff back in the controller's for now..
15:29 ashimema Just seeking direction really
15:29 ashimema I've not done anything UI wise yet
15:29 ashimema Wondering how best to expose that in the UI..
15:28 ashimema So.. in this particular bug it'll be removing 'FU' and adding various statuses to overdue fines
15:28 ashimema I'm looking to break down accounttype ( which currently hold both the 'type' and the 'state' of accountline in a quasi field) into accounttype and status
15:27 oleonard I'll take a look ashimema
15:27 huginn` Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=22521 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, martin.renvoize, NEW , Convert fines handling to use 'status' instead of two accounttypes
15:27 ashimema I was going to get your thoughts on UI changes for bug 22521
15:26 ashimema On the school run now
15:22 AnnaBoten Error: "Whom" is not a valid command.
15:22 oleonard AnnaBoten: Whom do you call Maker?
15:22 AnnaBoten Error: "Who" is not a valid command.
15:22 oleonard AnnaBoten: Who is your master?
15:22 oleonard Who runs AnnaBoten?
15:13 * oleonard forgot AnnaBoten was a bot
15:09 oleonard I am back ashimema
14:53 * ashimema is still working on fines.. but this time it's a UX/UI question ;)
14:52 ashimema oleonard still about?
14:25 wizzyrea hi
14:13 AnnaBoten corilynn was last seen in #koha 1 day, 21 hours, 32 minutes, and 25 seconds ago: <corilynn> i only make socks on the knitting machine
14:13 alex_a !seen corilynn
13:38 talljoy morning #koha
13:25 caroline1 my computer died... :(
13:25 caroline1 hey guys!
13:04 dolf If I do the same thing starting from the http://192.168.4.2:8091/cgi-bin/koha/cataloguing/addbooks.pl page "Cataloging Search" instead of "Search the catalog" then I get "Add MARC Record". I hope my explanation is clear... This seems wrong. I'm not sure why Koha decides to replace an old record.
13:02 dolf Search for a term, e.g. "justice" at /cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/search.pl?q=justice then click "Z39.50/SRU Search". In the popup window, click "Search". Choose a book and click Actions -> Import. Instead of going to a page called "Add MARC Record" I get "Editing [title]. (Record number 28412). But record number 28412 already exists, and has a totally different title. If I click save on this page, the old record is overwritten.
13:00 dolf So here is a weird situation...
12:32 ashimema lol
12:29 oleonard Like I said ashimema... I only complain about fines, nothing more.
12:28 ashimema the description isn't especially clear (and the code is even less so)
12:28 ashimema though if you have a clue what MaxFine is meant to do that would be cool too oleonard
12:28 ashimema oh good.. ignore me now
12:28 ashimema the warning in here should be unreachable
12:27 ashimema      there an &&
12:27 ashimema oh hang on.. I'm wrong
12:24 ashimema if the patron then goes overdue again.. should that result in a new fine or append to the existing 'fixed' fine?
12:23 ashimema If a patron borrowers an item and it goes overdue for a few days.. they get fined... if they then renew the item the fine stops incrementing but remains owed.. correct
12:23 oleonard Sorry ashimema I'm only available to commiserate about how bad fines are
12:22 ashimema I've got a scenario I want to run past someone
12:22 ashimema anyone around to talk about overdue charges?
11:35 wahanui hi oleopard
11:35 josef_moravec hi oleonard
11:35 oleonard Hi all
10:33 * ashimema is wondering why MaxFine is not in there
10:33 ashimema anyone know how the whitelist of prefs going into HEA was derived?
10:22 vfernandes hi #koha
10:10 magnuse kia ora cait cait2 and vfernandes
10:02 dolf I'm not the one doing the cataloging around here, so let me go and check with the people. But this only started happening after the update, and we've been using Koha since about 2013, I think. Maybe earlier. Got about 40k books on the shelf :)
10:01 magnuse hehe
10:01 dolf O snap you answered before I asked
10:01 magnuse but that does not look like something you would do by accident...
10:01 dolf magnuse: Are you referring to a Perl function, or some functionality in the user interface? I downloaded the source code and tried to surmise where updates to the biblio table are taking place, but I'm afraid I can't read Perl (yet).
10:01 magnuse if you are in detail view you can choose Edit -> Replace record via Z39.50/SRU
09:59 magnuse dolf: there is a function to replace a record with a new record, i think
09:41 dolf We have database backups of almost every day at midnight since 2019/01/28. So I used mysqldbcompare to check what changed, and it seems that records in the biblio table are sometimes overwritten by the new record when cataloging (gasp), meaning that we randomly lose books when cataloging. Sound like a bug, but I'm not sure. And I can't find a pattern to reproduce it reliably.
09:40 dolf I need some help diagnosing a problem... Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Here goes: On February 7th 2019 I updated Koha from 18.05 to 18.11 (latest one available in the Debian repos at that stage). Since then, we've been seeing some strange behaviour when adding new records (cataloging). Sometimes after adding a new record, there would already be an item, before we add any items.
09:39 andreashm I love that 'root' is on the author list
09:12 ashimema wow.. i never would have said I'd crept up above you
09:10 ashimema cool
08:54 magnuse ashimema: http://git.koha-community.org/stats/koha-master/authors.html
08:14 ashimema morning josef_moravec
08:14 cait1 :)
08:14 josef_moravec hi cait, ashimena, alex_a
08:14 ashimema go hugs, go
08:13 * ashimema throws hugs back at cait and hope's they catch her before she dissapears again
08:13 ashimema which seems a really random order
08:13 * cait1 waves quickly before being overrun agian
08:13 * ashimema thought perhaps https://github.com/Koha-Community/Koha/graphs/contributors
08:13 ashimema what stats are you looking at where you want to beat wizzyrea magnuse?
08:00 alex_a bonjour
07:45 wahanui salut, reiveune

04:02 huginn` Bug 21772: enhancement, P5 - low, 19.05, agustinmoyano, Signed Off , Add holds and account information tab to the SCO module
04:02 amoyano Hello everyone, I worked on bug https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=21772 and It's been in signed off status for 4 or 5 days now. I remember now that I did not "git format " the patches and send them to koha-patches ... If I already attached those patches to bugzilla.. should I still do it?.. sorry, I'm still new to this. Thanks
00:47 lari less than 1MB works, so i suppose 1MB is the limit
00:39 lari same via web interface even if it says "File size limit: 6000 KB"
00:36 lari_ hi, i get "413 Request Entity Too Large" when attaching a patch to Bugzilla via git-bz. The patch is 1.4MB in size.
