09:28 tuxayo hi remy_prebs about bug 22504, someone mentioned it yesterday here. About the screenshot being in french. Can you provide it in english?

09:37 josef_moravec we do have such a pattern in Koha now - get_effective_itemtype, get_effective_rule

10:38 ashimema he's a qa machine this month :)
10:39 alterego Hi does anyone can explain me how to install koha in a non debian distribution?? i don't find much on the mailing list
10:42 josef_moravec :-[
10:43 ashimema the simple answer to that alterego is that it's not supported
10:44 ashimema you 'can' do it, but as a community we don't have much expertise in trying to
10:44 ashimema in the past people have got it running on CentOS, Suse, Ubuntu
10:44 ashimema not Arch as far as I'm aware
10:45 ashimema but we tailer our dependancies based upon Debian distributions
10:46 ashimema If you're using Arch (I tihnk you mentioned arch yesterday), I'd kind of expect you to have the expertise to build the packages.. it's not exactly a 'server' distribution and isn't the most friendly linux for new users either
10:47 * ashimema uses Arch on his laptop.. but to work with Koha I have it running on debian in a docker.. but that's just for development
10:47 ashimema I wouldn't recommend it in production
11:24 ashimema josef_moravec: still around?
11:25 josef_moravec ashimema: yes
11:25 * ashimema is back on the bug 17702 bandwagon
11:25 huginn` Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=17702 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, josef.moravec, ASSIGNED , Create configuration for account types
11:25 ashimema I've just cc'd you onto a few more accounts bugs... in particular bug 22512
11:25 huginn` Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=22512 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, martin.renvoize, NEW , accountlines.accountype mixes 'state' and 'type'
11:26 ashimema Do you think introducing a 'state' field and using it to reduce the number of 'types' we have would be a good idea?
11:26 oleonard Hi #koha
11:28 * ashimema is happy to write the patches.. but wants to make sure he's not barking up the wrong tree first
11:29 kidclamp I like it ashimema
11:30 kidclamp tomas has been driving accounts stuff, but I think we won't see him for a bit
11:30 ashimema agreed
11:30 oleonard Okay now I need all non-English speakers to give us their language's version of "barking up the wrong tree" please
11:31 ashimema well.. cait is onboard with it.. Kyle is taking a quick look and it sounds like you feel it's sane too
11:31 ashimema sounds good to me
11:31 ashimema haha
11:33 josef_moravec ashimema: the change of accountype during time is definitaly bad
11:34 ashimema :)
11:34 ashimema coolios.. I'll take a look at writing some patches
11:38 kidclamp oleonard: I am hoping for something like "pickling the herring in sugar"
11:38 ashimema lol
11:39 calire oleonard: auf dem Holzweg sein
11:40 magnuse someone suggests "være på villspor" in norwegian, which means "bing on the wrong track", which is kind of boring compared to the english
11:41 magnuse s/bing/being/
11:42 magnuse calire: Holzweg? the road to the woods?
11:42 calire bein on a wood/wooded path
11:42 calire I looked up where it comes from apparently it'S to do with lumberjacks felling trees through woods and making a pathway
11:42 calire if you follow that path you will end up at a dead end as it is not a real road
11:43 magnuse ah yes, we could also say "være på bærtur" : being on a walk outside to pick wild berries
11:43 calire magnuse yours are so poetic
11:44 magnuse calire: yours are so... german ;-)
11:44 calire yes ^^ :D
11:56 josef_moravec ashimema: do you have term for releasing 18.11.04? about 21st of March or so?
11:57 ashimema I proposed 25th for release this morning (to the rmaints team and packagers), so far drojf is happy with that
11:57 josef_moravec ashimema: thanks
11:58 ashimema that means we'll be going for string freeze on the 18th
11:58 ashimema assuming JesseM/Lucas and fridolin are all good with that I'll give warning about string freeze later today
12:01 josef_moravec anybody interested in testing bug 20421 ? ;)
12:01 huginn` Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=20421 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, josef.moravec, Needs Signoff , Inform staff that patron does have the title checked out during placing hold
12:03 magnuse josef_moravec: i have some records without items that are showing the openurl button. is that expected?
12:03 ashimema that adds a warning to the staff user when a patron asks to place a hold on an item that they've previously checked out
12:04 ashimema rather than one they've currently got checked out right..
12:04 ashimema making sure I'm understanding the enhancement properly before testing
12:04 magnuse josef_moravec: feels like when i fill in OPACOpenURLItemTypes, only records with those kinds of items would display the button...
12:05 josef_moravec ashimema: yes, in fact, it checks history and current checkouts - it uses the same function as this check during checking out - see Koha::Patron->wants_check_prev and ->do_check_prev
12:06 josef_moravec magnuse: wait a minute, I have to go into code again (the originol code is not mine)
12:06 ashimema coolios.. ta
12:06 ashimema I think it's ours ;)
12:06 ashimema though the guy that wrote it has since left the company
12:07 josef_moravec ashimema: the original author is Julian Maurice I think... on bug 8995 ;)
12:07 huginn` Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=8995 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, julian.maurice, Needs Signoff , Show OpenURL links in OPAC search results
12:09 josef_moravec magnuse: you fond an error I think - it check biblioitem->itemtype - but the check should respect item-level_itypes system preference
12:13 magnuse ah, i didn't think of 942...
12:26 alterego ashimema: the problem lies expecially in some perl modules that don't seem to install properly, text::bidi and text::unaccent, say schedule::at
12:27 ashimema how are you trying to install them?
12:27 ashimema I would imagine via cpanm or something in this case?
12:28 ashimema i wouldn't be surprised if they weren't in AUR or the standard Arch repos
12:42 fridolin ashimema: all good , string freeze to 17.11.x, since there is nearly nothing to translate ;)
12:43 ashimema :)
12:44 oleonard If BiblioAddsAuthorities is enabled, shouldn't I be able to enter data in a field which is linked to an authority type?
12:58 alterego ashimema right, via cpan
12:58 alterego ashimema, I installed all the requested modules via cpan using a perl script in the tar.gzx build ot koha
12:58 alterego of koha
13:24 josef_moravec magnuse: I added a follow-up to bug 8995 to take item-level_itypes into account when considering item type

14:06 * andreashm waves
14:07 magnuse the haps in schnaps!
14:27 wizzyrea man I want some schnaps
14:27 alterego hmm got disconnected
15:09 reiveune bye
15:14 wizzyrea so, how does one go about testing something like ils-di
15:14 wizzyrea i haven't ever had to
15:18 wizzyrea never mind I think I see
15:22 ashimema interesting tidbit for devs which I wasn't aware of before
15:23 ashimema if you're using a fixed set of comparitors then (with mysql at least) 'IN' is faster than a list of 'OR'
15:24 ashimema        so.. `accounttype => { '-in' => [ 'L', 'Rep', 'W' ] }` should be used over `accounttype => [ 'L', 'Rep', 'W' ]`
15:25 wizzyrea oh yes also always felt a bit friendlier to read
15:26 ashimema I prefered the latter.. but then I'm rather familier with SQL::Abstract so for me [] = OR, {} = AND automatically in my brain
15:27 ashimema caveat... if the field in question is indexed it make much less difference
15:27 ashimema food for thought
15:49 cait maybe more indexes too?
15:50 cait i don't think we use them much right now
15:53 eythian if you're ever searching on a field it should have an index, otherwise you're doing a table scan and that is bad and wrong.
15:54 cait so sounds like we should have lots more considering the different search boxes for patrons, invoices etc?
15:54 ashimema yup
15:54 eythian patrons ought to go into ES and search from there
15:55 cait yeah, thinking about acq searches for example
15:55 cait not the bibliographic ones
15:55 cait andreashm: the bag of crisps/chips is breaking records
15:56 andreashm cait: oh?
15:56 andreashm how so?
15:57 cait nothing eatable ever survived that long in the kitchen
15:57 andreashm haha
15:57 andreashm *evil laughter*
15:57 cait although a coworker told me he might have a problem - he starts to like them
16:13 wizzyrea does anyone have handy a sip string for placing a hold?
16:48 tuxayo @seen Joubu

17:06 ashimema lol
17:17 tuxayo kidclamp: you have competition :)
19:17 magnuse is it documented anywhere how koha figures out how to display the "Material type: visual material Visual material; Type of visual material: videorecording ; Audience: General;" line in results lists?
20:38 mifantrax Good evening from CET, has anyone here been able to enable and use googleopenidconnect in koha ?
20:38 mifantrax i have installed latest version of koha and it work god however i cannot enable openidconnect succesfuly

21:07 mifantrax hmm, that changed the error at least
21:08 mifantrax now i get Error: invalid_client
21:18 * andreashm waves
21:20 Joubu mifantrax: it seems that invalid_client is raised by another script: overdrive_proxy
21:23 mifantrax thank you for the reply, i am not using that option and it is disabled
22:00 Joubu @later tell ashimema what about bug 22483 comment 19?
22:00 huginn` Joubu: The operation succeeded.
22:01 Joubu mifantrax: sorry, I am very slow to answer you. I'd double check the client id and credentials
22:03 mifantrax I did and regenerated the client and ID and secret and i am in
22:03 mifantrax thanks for your guidance
22:03 mifantrax seems to work without any kind of issues
22:05 Joubu great!
22:05 mifantrax the only left think will be to move the entire site over https
22:05 mifantrax but another time
