Time Nick Message
22:08 wizzyrea sometimes your brain won't leave a concept until you get the words right >.>
22:08 rangi heh
22:08 wizzyrea there we go.
22:07 wizzyrea indicative edible treat, not necessarily exclusive.
22:04 caroline good night everyone!
21:38 rangi hehe yeah
21:37 wizzyrea with Very Fancy Butter.
21:37 rangi i bet there are donuts
21:37 wizzyrea Artisinal Toast Edibles
21:37 rangi it's all all tinctures, and drinks, and chocolate bars etc in portland, brownies are not hipster enough
21:36 wizzyrea ^.^ noted edible treat known to be one of many edible treats, example only
21:36 rangi oh there's way more than brownies
21:35 wizzyrea or, seems like a waste of a brownie.
21:35 wizzyrea you can't smoke a brownie
21:28 rangi heh, edibles
21:27 wizzyrea I don't think it'll be cigars you're smoking in portland :P
21:26 cait true
21:26 caroline well, the numbers never add up when using opachiddenitems, but this is more obvious
21:25 cait seems definitely confusing
21:25 cait because now numbers don't add up
21:25 caroline okidoo
21:25 cait yep
21:25 caroline That's what you would expect too, cait?
21:25 caroline So if opachiddenitems says to hide, not only the item should be hidden from the record, but the availability should also be hidden from the results lists
21:23 cait in my opinion - but never checked it closely, not sure if it's new behaviour or not
21:22 cait i think it sounds like a bug
21:22 cait it should not show the withdrwan
21:17 caroline https://snag.gy/pF5VcG.jpg
21:14 caroline but I'm confused about the results list availability...
21:14 caroline If I click on the record I only see my one available, though, which is what I expect
21:13 caroline in OPAC, if I have two items in one record, one of which is withdrawn, and my opachiddenitems syspref says not to show withdrawn items, is the results list supposed to show 1 available and 1 withdrawn?
20:14 oleonard See y'all later
20:09 rangi I promise not to waste one of nates cigars this time round!
20:09 oleonard Yeah, can't wait!
20:09 rangi yay!!
20:09 oleonard Yes
20:08 rangi will you get to stay for the whole conf + hackfest?
20:07 oleonard Yes
20:06 rangi im trying to remember where i flew into when i came to athens, i think columbus
20:06 rangi hehe
20:06 oleonard If all else fails I can always leave myself 36 hours for the drive
20:05 rangi yep :)
20:04 oleonard I did, thanks. I've got my hotel booked but not my flight so I'd better get on that.
20:04 rangi oleonard: off topic but did you see https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/KohaCon18_Proposals#Arrivals_.26_Departures
20:02 rangi (bugs about the plugin infrastructure that is)
20:02 rangi id put it under Architecture, internals and plumbing
20:01 rangi yeah i feel like if you call it plugins you end up with a bunch of bugs about the plugins
20:00 oleonard But I don't think anyone settled on a way to make it clear
20:00 oleonard I think it's for bugs related to Koha's support for plugins
20:00 oleonard Hi rangi
19:58 rangi cos, plugins aren't part of koha, that's kinda the point
19:58 rangi hmmm whats teh plugin component for?
18:42 Freddy_Enrique ashimema1++
18:42 Freddy_Enrique Joubu++
18:41 Freddy_Enrique I get it know! koha-create --letsencrypt
18:40 Freddy_Enrique thanks Ashimema1
18:40 Freddy_Enrique Omg! it was a command all a long... https://snag.gy/q26OXR.jpg
18:27 ashimema1 No.. man is standard Unix command for manual.. ie run it against a command to see that commands instructions
17:41 Freddy_Enrique so, the line should say... sudo man koha-create --create-db library --letsencrypt?
17:40 Freddy_Enrique Found it: sudo koha-create --create-db library
17:38 Freddy_Enrique :ashimema1 Hi, uhm... I failed to understand that line. Where could I get it?
17:35 ashimema1 'man koha-create' Freddy_Enrique
16:51 Freddy_Enrique SO, there's a way to make it simple?
16:50 Freddy_Enrique but that is configured in the apache files, not the app per se
16:50 Freddy_Enrique Ive read That I could use cerbot
16:50 Freddy_Enrique yes, I've been looking for ways to get the https but nothing so far
16:49 Freddy_Enrique wait.... that is not in the manual
16:49 Freddy_Enrique really???????
16:45 Joubu there is a --letsencrypt flag to provide to koha-create when you create the instance
16:44 Joubu are you talking about letsentrypt?
16:44 Freddy_Enrique Oh... my bad. Ok
16:44 Joubu it's not a "number", it's IP:PORT
16:44 Freddy_Enrique One last question. Should I configure the SSL before or after koha installation?
16:43 Freddy_Enrique that number instead of __MEMCACHED_SERVERS__. Got it! :)
16:42 Joubu it should not be __MEMCACHED_SERVERS__ but certainly 127.0.0.1:11211
16:42 Joubu Freddy_Enrique: edit your koha-conf.xml file and replace the value of memcached_servers
16:35 Freddy_Enrique Wonder what problems I can Get from it and how to solve it
16:34 Freddy_Enrique Yesterday when trying to install the lastest version of Koha I happened to get this: https://snag.gy/8Y6Pnr.jpg
16:33 Freddy_Enrique Hi everyone!
15:49 reiveune bye
15:29 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=20935 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, oleonard, Needs Signoff , Redesign system preferences interface
15:29 oleonard Joubu, josef_moravec: Bug 20935 updated, thanks for testing
15:14 Joubu weird
15:12 oleonard My screen is 2560x1440, and the position of the submit button doesn't change based on browser width
15:12 Joubu tcohen: how do you see it?
15:11 Joubu test in a private window
15:10 Joubu oleonard: I do not, what's your screen resolution?
15:06 oleonard http://zivotdesign.com/p/view.php?p=15301983857200
15:05 oleonard I see it the way it's supposed to look
15:03 Joubu how do you see it on neutral ground?
15:01 Joubu oleonard: http://pro.user02-koha.sandbox.biblibre.eu/cgi-bin/koha/circ/returns.pl
14:50 * oleonard too :P
14:50 Joubu oleonard: I see the same with FF and Chromium
14:49 oleonard Joubu: But you're right, the form fields in your screenshot are wider than I see
14:46 oleonard The font size is correct
14:43 Joubu If I disable it it looks like on your screenshot
14:42 Joubu I see .barcode { font-size: 200% } in the dev tools
14:42 Joubu oleonard: my input is much wider than yours
14:40 Joubu oleonard: it's not
14:39 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=20959 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, oleonard, Signed Off , Style checkin form more like the checkout form, with collapsed settings panel
14:38 oleonard Joubu: I cannot reproduce your button problem with Bug 20959. Could you double-check that it's not a cache problem?
14:34 * oleonard is working from home today
14:34 oleonard Why do my holds always come in to the library on days I'm not there?
14:13 Joubu maybe not
14:12 Joubu the SQL is wrong
14:12 barton hm.
14:09 oleonard barton: That's not what the patron detail page says
14:07 barton yes, borrower 2 is subscribed via email, phone and sms.
14:06 Joubu If not, we will have to handle that case everywhere in the code."""
14:06 Joubu If yes, I will write a script to catch them, add something to the about page and the update database process.
14:06 Joubu """My question was: If an item is defined with a items.itype (or biblioitems.itemtype) that is not an entry in the itemtypes table, is it considered as a configuration issue?
14:06 Joubu cait: I was referring earlier to the thread "Expected behaviour if itemtype does not exist" on koha-devel
14:05 oleonard Is borrower 2 subscribed to that notice or not?
14:04 pastebot "oleonard" at 127.0.0.1 pasted "barton: I don't understand this output" (5 lines) at http://paste.koha-community.org/12
14:00 barton oleonard: thanks for reminding me of that report -- I think that I put it up on the reports library largely because once I figured it out once, I never wanted to have to figure it out again... I find the relaitonship between message_attributes and message_transports to be rather brain-bending.
13:56 cait ah similar
13:56 cait so the library could then go through them and add it
13:56 cait not quite, that loosk for ones where the hold checkbox was not checked
13:55 oleonard Same as https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/SQL_Reports_Patrons#Patron_with_messages_but_no_email ?
13:53 cait http://paste.koha-community.org/11
13:53 cait i got a "student accounts that don't receive hold messages'
13:52 oleonard (thanks barton)
13:52 oleonard I found this: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/SQL_Reports_Library#Borrower_messaging_preferences_by_branch
13:50 cait oleonard: let me check if i got something
13:46 oleonard I'd like to know which patrons are "subscribed" to a particular message.
13:45 cait but basically you need to check borrower_message_transport_preferences for if it's on or not
13:44 cait what is your questio, i might have an sql stored?
13:44 cait that's why it's complicated
13:44 cait you need to see if there is something in transports too i think
13:44 cait not one line
13:44 cait no it always adds and updates them all
13:43 oleonard That is not the case.
13:43 oleonard I would expect that if a patron had no messaging preferences selected there would be no rows in borrower_message_preferences for that borrowernumber
13:43 cait so see which message
13:43 cait and can use that for message_attributes
13:43 Joubu and there is another one for the transport type, in borrower_message_transport_preferences
13:43 cait so from borrower_message_preferences you get the message_attribute_id
13:42 Joubu yes, it's a join table
13:41 cait but then you have to step backwards to see which message it is
13:41 Joubu not that much, it's in borrower_message_preferences
13:41 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14662 major, P5 - low, ---, gmcharlt, NEW , Add empty entry to pull down when subfield is mandatory and linked to authorized value
13:41 cait bug 14662
13:40 oleonard :(
13:40 cait oleonard: that's complicated
13:40 oleonard Where in the database do we store which messaging preferences a patron has selected?
13:40 cait so most of our libraries don't use mandatory... because empty itemtypes are easier to find with a report than the ones you might have accidentally set to some value
13:39 cait if you tr to save without filling the field, like it does for free text input
13:39 cait it shoud have an empty option and trigger you to set one
13:39 cait but it might not be the itemtype you wanted to have
13:39 cait because you will never trigger a mandatory alert - it is never empty
13:39 cait that makes it quite error prone
13:38 cait or a default you selected if lucky
13:38 cait which means it just randomly selects the firt itemtype
13:38 cait it kills the 'empty' option
13:38 cait if you makr a subfield with a pull down mandatory
13:38 Joubu cait: mandatory behavior on the item form?
13:37 Joubu when something is wrong it's better to explode than to suggest everything went ok
13:37 cait because it's broken and that's bad
13:37 oleonard I'm out of ideas.
13:37 oleonard Everything should explode all the time.
13:36 cait can we then please finally repair the mandatory behavior on the item form?
13:36 Joubu few years ago Koha never exploded, even when it should
13:36 cait if we don't want people to add items without itemtype
13:36 oleonard Some things should explode, but not in Koha.
13:36 Joubu oleonard: wrong assertion
13:35 cait as soon as bugzilla lets me i will file a bug then
13:35 tcohen Plugin subsystem
13:35 oleonard cait: Nothing should ever explode.
13:35 cait yeah plugin support might be understood as 'the support for existing plugins'
13:34 cait or asked differently: shoudl i file a bug if a checkout withiut itemtype makes the summary print explode?
13:34 Joubu "support" could be misunderstood, but if people agrees I can create it
13:32 cait you get native speaker bonus anyway :)
13:32 AndrewIsh 'Plugin support' makes more sense to me since you're adding "support" for "plugins"
13:32 cait do we still fix internal server errors for missing itemtypes in items?
13:27 * AndrewIsh fixes his Vim with a hard stare...
13:26 AndrewIsh Joubu: Indeed, arghhhh, I'll fix
13:25 Joubu AndrewIsh: first patch of 20968 is full of tabs ;)
13:25 * AndrewIsh suggests oleonard reignites the effigy...
13:25 AndrewIsh Joubu: I see what you mean though, there's something funky going on with the indenting on those patches :(
13:25 * Joubu joins oleonard for the ceremony
13:25 ashimema1 'Plugin subsystem' +1
13:24 * oleonard douses the effigy
13:24 tcohen 'Plugin subsystem'
13:23 tcohen 'Plugin support'
13:23 AndrewIsh Joubu: I would hope not! Unless my Vim is playing games with me....
13:23 tcohen Joubu: it could be just 'internals', right? people might think they should file bugs for plugins in there
13:23 * oleonard burns AndrewIsh in effigy
13:23 Joubu AndrewIsh: are you still submitting patches with tabs?!?
13:22 AndrewIsh Ignore my last message, I was misunderstanding who it was from/to ;-)
13:21 Joubu tcohen, khall: would it make sense to you to have a "Plugins" component in bugzilla?
13:19 Joubu oleonard: haaaaaaa :)
13:19 AndrewIsh Potentially anywhere
13:19 oleonard Joubu: In the opac?
13:18 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=20968 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, andrew.isherwood, Failed QA , Plugins: Add hooks to enable plugin integration into catalogue
13:18 AndrewIsh Joubu: How so. Adding plugin hooks into core happens as required, for example Bug 20968
13:18 Joubu oleonard: `git grep -l ui-autocomplete`, yes it is
13:18 oleonard Joubu: I believe that there is no place where it is used.
13:17 Joubu AndrewIsh: I can add it, but not sure it makes sense to have it
13:17 AndrewIsh rangi: Any chance you could add a "Plugins" component on Bugzilla please :)
13:17 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=20559 normal, P5 - low, ---, oleonard, Signed Off , Occurrences of loading-small.gif still exist
13:17 Joubu oleonard: on bug 20559 you remove CSS related to autocomplete (.ui-autocomplete, etc.), is it expected?
13:17 AndrewIsh Thanks cait & oleonard
13:15 AndrewIsh Thanks cait & oleonard :)
13:14 cait i'd just ask rangi to add it
13:14 ashimema1 :)
13:14 cait AndrewIsh ashimema
13:14 cait maybe plugin system could be a new component
13:07 huginn oleonard: The operation succeeded.
13:07 oleonard @later tell AndrewIsh I think rangi manages Bugzilla and could add a new component
13:07 oleonard Too slow.
13:07 oleonard AndrewIsh: I think rangi manages Bugzilla and could add a new component
13:01 caroline Hello!
12:50 nlegrand cait: ho we find books now, it's the main new thing ^^
12:49 nlegrand the only things that surprised me is ESÂ yelling deprecation messages all the time. He's not doing the same thing on my test instance.
12:49 cait lots of things in the works currently
12:49 cait keep us updated about elastic? :)
12:48 nlegrand cait: frankly, we've done worse :)
12:46 cait if you have item level itypes the worst shoul dnot hit you
12:46 cait nlegrand: there were some bigger issues fixed, maybe peek at the release notes at least
12:46 nlegrand cait: well most of 18.05.x till last week, didn't have the time to rebase all to tag .01
12:45 ashimema1 +1
12:45 ashimema1 :=
12:45 nlegrand cait: it's still a bit patchy but it's already better :)
12:44 cait .01 i hope?
12:44 nlegrand cait: yup!
12:44 cait swicched already?
12:44 nlegrand So we did it, we switch to 18.05 with ESÂ :)
12:43 nlegrand Hey #koha
12:13 ashimema1 there's a core/infrastucter or someting like that category that I'e used for such things to date.
12:12 AndrewIsh Hey all - is there any particular reason why Bugzilla doesn't have a "Plugins" component when creating a bug? Obviously plugins themselves won't be appearing in Bugzilla, but plugin hook additions, and modifications to the core Plugin object will do. Does anyone fancy creating a component for them, if not, what component should I use for such a bug?
12:01 huginn Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=20554 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, claire_gravely, Needs Signoff , New OPAC CSS
12:01 oleonard calire: I also made sure Bug 20554 still applies... Just in case...
11:59 cait quite a change :)
11:59 calire oleonard, looks nice!
11:58 oleonard Working on this some more today: http://zivotdesign.com/p/#1/15301338390205
11:55 calire hi oleonard
11:54 oleonard Hi #koha
09:46 cait tbh it was alwys my advice but i didn't always manage myself... so ashimema++ :)
09:34 ashimema1 pleasure fridolin.. the main bit of advice I got given coming into this from everyone I spoke to was 'Keep up with the RM and don't pile up the updates' :).. I'm taking that advice seriously :)
09:33 tcohen cait: thanks
09:23 tcohen morning
09:01 fridolin thanks ashimema for you work on 18.05 its nice to do it little by little

07:23 gaetan_B hello
07:15 JesseDhammu I recently upgraded my entire system and the revised koha verison im using is 18.05.00.000, but unlike my previous installation, the newer version does not have any option to show barcode in OPAC details page. This is exteremly essensial for our library, can anyone help in restoring the setting, so that my users can see the item barcode in opac details display screen under normal view.
07:13 JesseDhammu hi
06:43 reiveune hello

05:39 fridolin hi there
