22:45 Francesca cataloging catalyst's library
22:45 AdamB /quit
22:44 cait cataloguing your perosnal library?
22:31 Francesca which is slow
22:31 Francesca so far every book on this last shelf has had to be manually cataloged
22:16 andreashm bye
22:16 josef_moravec1 bye #koha
22:16 josef_moravec1 time to sleep
22:16 josef_moravec1 cait: I believe you ;)
22:16 andreashm Will try SYNC_REPO when it's time to destroy and start again.
22:15 andreashm =)
22:15 andreashm brainmelt.
22:13 tcohen it is faster outside
22:13 tcohen you are working on the external dir, mounted inside using some networked filesystem
22:12 tcohen its hte same
22:12 andreashm how do you change branch etc if you work with SYNC_REPO? In vagrant or at the git repo on the machine?
22:09 cait eso probably pushing it on the weekend when my brain is less tired (hopefully)
22:09 cait will be my first db updat
22:09 josef_moravec1 cait: you are welcome ;)
22:08 cait            josef_moravec1++
22:08 cait thx for clearing that up!
22:08 andreashm tcohen: ah! thanks!
22:08 josef_moravec1 cait: you just need two last patches - which are marked with [16.11.x] prefix, Marcel did squashed them for stable versions... and I added one followup ;)
22:08 tcohen on your env
22:08 tcohen and set SYNC_REPO=the_clone_dir
22:07 tcohen andreashm: git clone on your machine
22:06 cait josef_moravec1: so i need all patches without version and then the 2 follow-ups?
22:06 andreashm guess I should learn how that works. =)
22:06 andreashm nope
22:05 tcohen aren't you using SYNC_REPO?
22:05 andreashm cait: thanks! =)
22:05 cait if you use a synced one, only have to pull it once
22:05 andreashm sigh...
22:05 andreashm with quite a few issues actually. and takes forever to pull the git repository
22:05 tcohen you can do the cp_debian_files.pl step manually
22:05 josef_moravec1 cait: I done testing 17913, looks good for me ;)
22:05 cait sorry andreashm
22:05 andreashm I just rebuilt it last week.
22:05 tcohen maybe, just maybe
22:05 cait oh good
22:05 andreashm aaargh
22:05 tcohen cait: that was for andreashm
22:04 cait eek
22:03 tcohen the best is that you destroy and recreate the box
22:03 andreashm CrispyBran: it's a problem with Kohadevbox
22:03 andreashm but I though it was because of the dev_install thing
22:03 andreashm I also have problems with zebra in devbox
22:02 andreashm thanks tcohen
22:02 cait so it is a bug and not something i am missing?
22:01 tcohen cait: blame Joubu and the marcxml column for that :-P
22:01 tcohen and it is <dev_install>/home/vagrant/kohaclone</dev_install>
22:01 tcohen andreashm: inside the <config> section
22:00 CrispyBran andreashm ^^^
22:00 cait hm tcohen hm i have some problems running koha-rebuild-zebrea in my kohadevbox - have you seen that by chance? complains about the marcxml
21:58 CrispyBran what is issue 168?
21:57 andreashm tcohen: where in koha-conf.xml should I place the <dev-install> line specified in issue 168?
21:55 andreashm hi tcohen
21:54 * andreashm waves
21:53 talljoy indeed wahanui
21:52 wahanui rumour has it progress is good
21:52 talljoy progress.
21:52 talljoy i think i was successful. last merge request was approved by chris!
21:52 talljoy that's the plan at least!
21:52 cait yep
21:52 talljoy and breaking it helps me learn it, right?
21:52 cait i am sure you will figure it out :)
21:51 cait you can only break stuff by actually trying to do something
21:51 talljoy cait i managed to fork the manual and then delete it and send a variet of commits and merge requests. i'm a hot mess when it comes to git
21:50 huginn talljoy: The operation succeeded.
21:50 talljoy @later tell rangi apologies for the gitlab confusion- i'm trying to iron out this process so i can document it and get others involved.
21:47 cait josef_moravec1: thx a lot
21:47 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=17913 normal, P5 - low, ---, m.de.rooy, Pushed to Master , Merge three authority merge fixes
21:47 cait bug 17913
21:47 cait hi talljoy :)
21:46 talljoy hi cait!
21:43 josef_moravec1 testing 17913, I have prepared one little followup, tests are passing, but still continuing on it....
21:42 cait thx for the work :)
21:42 josef_moravec1 thanks for your sign-offs cait!
21:38 cait or it's just a little late, i hope it's that :)
21:37 cait i am totally out of practice it seems
21:36 josef_moravec1 no problem, I am glad you are testing it ;)
21:36 cait i think the patch does work after all
21:36 cait it's not you, it's me, I will figure it out
21:36 cait looking silly here :)
21:35 cait i am just seeing things
21:35 wahanui Good, I'm glad you figured it out. I didn't understand, and probably never will, being a bot.
21:35 cait never mind
21:35 josef_moravec1 I probably made bad indentation in yaml file ;(
21:35 josef_moravec1 yes, it was intended to be in circulation module
21:34 cait i can make a follow up if that's ok with you, just one word to change
21:34 cait holds_queue is there as well
21:33 cait would you agree changing it to circulation?
21:33 josef_moravec1 yep ;)
21:33 josef_moravec1 cait: no, we have circulation only ad hold tables are here...
21:33 cait well it shows up in circulation then :)
21:33 cait if i change in the yaml file to circulation it works
21:33 cait we don't have a holds tab there
21:32 josef_moravec1 cait: yes it should
21:31 cait should it show up on the administration page for columns settings?
21:31 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=18073 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, josef.moravec, Needs Signoff , Holds to pull UI improvements

21:08 Harold good day all
20:48 Shane-S Not an emergency just thought someone might have a trick. I can keep doing ID exports and using word with free 3 of 9
20:47 Shane-S okay thank you, I wish I could upgrade quicker...but its a 1 woman show in the library, so I hate to upset her with changes
20:45 cait Shane-S: sorry, don't have the old one and we never used labels :(
20:43 Shane-S okay anyone know a way to get all search results in the Patron Card Creator added to the batch...I am on 3.20(I know...summer new server and migration planned). Right now you click "Add" on the right of each name.
20:34 barton 'his own goodbye' sounds like a euphimism for death.
20:32 drojf too lazy to have own goodbye

20:01 * kidclamp always slightyl regrets not going with doctornick just for that reason
20:00 drojf hi kidclamp
20:00 kidclamp yes yes yes yes yes yes yes
20:00 wahanui Hi, Doctor Nick!
20:00 kidclamp hi everybody!
19:56 oleonard Bye #koha
19:17 koha You helped me alot
19:17 oleonard You're welcome mr koha
19:16 koha thanks for your help
19:16 koha thanks very much mr cait and mr oleonard
19:14 cait you can also present electornic collections - but the access to the resources will usually be dealt with by the provider
19:13 cait they can find out if the book is available in the library - and place a hold if it's lend to someone else already
19:13 koha hmm
19:13 oleonard ...because they are access points for physical collections of items to be borrowed.
19:13 koha what is the benefit for the client?
19:12 oleonard That's what library catalogs do
19:12 koha but what is the benefit of display only the metadata of books
19:12 koha hmm
19:12 oleonard But Koha cannot control access to those files. It's not built to do that.
19:11 oleonard You could upload PDFs to a web-accessible location on your server and link to them via the 856 tag
19:11 koha but the client may want to read any of this books ,right ?
19:10 oleonard Buy a book? Koha isn't designed for selling books. It's library software.
19:10 koha but if the customer want to buy a book , what will we do?
19:10 oleonard You can do it, but the workflow may not suit you
19:09 koha ohh
19:09 oleonard Koha isn't really designed to do that
19:08 koha how ?
19:08 koha yes
19:08 oleonard You want to add the PDF version of the books?
19:06 koha are you here?
19:05 koha how ?
19:05 koha but I want to add the pdf of all this books
19:04 koha and I saw the metadata of the books in OPAC
19:04 koha I imported .mrc file into my koha system
19:04 oleonard ...because in 1 hour I have to leave
19:04 koha I have question in koha
19:03 cait yep i think you are right
19:03 cait ah ok
19:03 oleonard 1 hour I thought
19:03 koha hello
19:02 wahanui mmm meat
19:02 cait meeting time?
19:01 cait            oleonard++ :)
17:59 CrispyBran Thanks for the guidance.
17:59 CrispyBran :)
17:59 CrispyBran Okay, I think I will keep it the way I know then. Makes it easier on me.
17:58 oleonard This might be useful if you want to be able to switch between master and your testing branch to compare the difference
17:58 oleonard The alternative is to create a new branch for each patch you want to test and then delete the branch when you're done
17:57 oleonard the database isn't affected by git
17:57 oleonard No
17:57 CrispyBran That is a workflow I haven't seen before. Any other work? Like bib changes or preference changes?
17:56 oleonard That will kill all the changes made by the patch (or any other work you did)
17:56 oleonard git reset --hard origin
17:56 oleonard If you're just testing, you can apply patches directly on the master branch and then reset it
17:54 CrispyBran In the past I have used branches to copy the master and apply patches. Then when I am done I get rid of the branch. If I don't use a branch, how do I remove patches when done testing?
17:53 oleonard CrispyBran: If you're just testing patches you don't need to worry about saving your work for later in branches
17:52 oleonard If you're not syncing with a git repository on your host machine you should do all your git stuff after 'vagrant ssh'
17:52 cait like if you want to run cronjob or maintenance scripts manually - then you would do koha-shell
17:51 oleonard Everything else you do outside of that
17:51 oleonard CrispyBran: My understanding is that you only need to use koha-shell for running commands which require instance-specific environment variables
17:50 CrispyBran From what I can see, I can only run the git branch commands outside of the instance user session and outside of vagrant ssh. Is that where I should be issuing these commands?
17:47 CrispyBran The workflow is a bit fuzzy. When I do vagrant up my environment is up, but then there are instructions for logging into the box (vagrant ssh), and getting into the instance's user session (sudo koha-shell kohadev). There is some information on the instance's user session, but I am not getting when I need to vagrant ssh and when I need to get into the instance's user session. I don't really understand what the instance is.
17:44 oleonard CrispyBran: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Version_Control_Using_Git
17:41 cait branches, git bz etc.
17:41 oleonard CrispyBran: It's not really an kohadevbox issue but a git workflow issue CrispyBran
17:41 cait you work like with git
17:40 CrispyBran I see how to apply a patch, but I don't see anything on removing it when done.
17:40 CrispyBran tcohen, I'm looking at the instructions on the kohadevbox for working on patches, but I don't see anything about branches. Are we using branches in this environment?
17:35 wahanui salut, CrispyBran
17:35 CrispyBran hello
17:33 tcohen hi

16:00 drojf sure, have all the yeast fun you want
16:00 oleonard (sorry drojf)
16:00 LibraryClaire :D :D
16:00 oleonard Maybe we need an international yeast extract tasting at the next Hackfest
16:00 LibraryClaire laters #koha
15:54 fridolin sseeee u
15:53 eythian doesn't it just!
15:52 LibraryClaire sanitarium yeast extract sounds so delicious and inviting...
15:51 eythian http://www.sanza.co.uk/Sanitarium_NZ_Mite.asp <-- haha, they had to change the name
15:50 * drojf dies allergy death just from watching
15:50 * LibraryClaire thinks oleonard is a genius
15:49 * cait shudders
15:49 * oleonard dips his bread covered in yeast extract into his beer
15:48 eythian I still have a 500gm jar that the koha team gave me before I left. Next time someone comes over from NZ, I'm going to have to put an order in for another one.
15:48 * drojf shivers
15:48 * LibraryClaire wants bread covered in yeast extract products
15:45 eythian on the other hand, their website suggests they're open. Who knows.
15:44 eythian http://www.parool.nl/amsterdam/marks-en-spencer-in-de-kalverstraat-sluit-zijn-deuren~a4410975/ <-- think I'm a bit late :/
15:43 eythian crazy country
15:43 eythian ‽
15:43 LibraryClaire I found some here in the supermarket, they don't understand though. They put it in the soup and stock area, not with the spreads
15:42 eythian I should go to the M&S before it closes down here and see if they have it there, for science.
15:42 eythian (well, so I've heard, don't think I've tried the british version.)
15:41 eythian yep
15:41 LibraryClaire NZ marmite is different to british marmite
15:40 eythian get out
15:37 * LibraryClaire feels like a rebel
15:37 eythian not permitted.
15:37 LibraryClaire but what if you like vegemite and marmite?
15:37 eythian I don't do vegemite, thank you very much. Where I come from, we have standards.
15:37 LibraryClaire lol
15:36 oleonard eythian: Have you been hanging out on /r/ShowerVegemite again?
15:31 huginn eythian: The operation succeeded.

15:16 tcohen hi
15:15 cait wake up call :)
15:13 Joubu cait: heh indeed, May, not March...
14:43 drojf to mate?
14:43 LibraryClaire and more
14:43 * oleonard quits early
14:42 oleonard Thanks for the fish lesson magnuse, I feel like I've learned all I need to learn today.
14:42 magnuse lulz - i'll wander off now i think :-)
14:42 eythian also a weird fetish
14:41 LibraryClaire being a fish must suck
14:41 magnuse fish of love - yeah, they come here to mate and we catch and eat then
14:41 drojf weird fetish
14:41 drojf so you make love to it and then eat it?
14:41 eythian sounds like the sort of thing that would take down the internet of island countries.
14:41 LibraryClaire and then you eat it
14:41 * oleonard wonders if this article, "Skrei Cod, the New Food Fetish" is accurate when it says it's also called the "Fish of love."
14:41 magnuse it migrates from the barents sea way up i nthe north to the Lofoten area to mate
14:40 drojf kabel? jau!
14:40 LibraryClaire yes, it said it was a special norwegian "winterkabeljau"
14:40 drojf no it sounds happy
14:40 magnuse it's a special kind of cod
14:40 magnuse kabeljau sounds horrible
14:39 LibraryClaire I knew it was a fish, but I don't knwo the German names for fishies
14:39 eythian (handy trick: stick '&hl=en' to the end of a google url to switch it to english.)
14:39 LibraryClaire ah cod
14:39 eythian atlantic cod
14:39 * LibraryClaire finds translator
14:39 eythian Kabeljauw here
14:38 LibraryClaire German google tells me it's a Kabeljau
14:38 oleonard I hear it's Norway's best kept secret.
14:37 * LibraryClaire googles skrei
14:36 * magnuse wanders off to cook skrei
14:33 LibraryClaire https://twitter.com/mattblak/status/828957134310219776
14:33 ashimema and the smell of fresh bread baking in the oven wafting up at lunch time ;)
14:32 ashimema nothing like pounding a bread doe in the morning ;)
14:32 ashimema :)
14:32 cait hm not really, just wondering how we could make use of it to get the queues down ;)
14:32 jcamins cait: is it so surprising?
14:31 cait hm interesting effect
14:28 drojf and a second oleonard
14:20 oleonard Heh, the smell of bread attracted jcamins
14:16 * magnuse has not baked bread in a loooong time
14:16 jcamins ashimema: now I want to bake more bread.
14:04 * LibraryClaire wants bread now
14:03 ashimema https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Allied+Bakeries/@51.9249449,-0.1630297,1171m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x5513128156e4aede!8m2!3d51.9243115!4d-0.1654896 it really is a massive bakery
14:02 ashimema hence why I bake allot of my own bread.. ;)
14:02 LibraryClaire apart from frying onions
14:02 LibraryClaire the best smell
14:01 ashimema which is good, because I live near a massive industry size bakery and have the smell of cooking bread nearly all day most days ;)
14:01 * ashimema loves bread too..
14:00 drojf take all the bread and beer, weird gluten people
13:59 LibraryClaire I love bread
13:57 oleonard if there's an opposite to gluten-intolerance I have it. I could live on bread and beer.
13:56 * ashimema bakes bread and backs away slowly ;)
13:55 * LibraryClaire takes the bread and backs away slowly
13:54 oleonard Hey we stole this country fair and square, we get to make up all the names.
13:54 eythian you can't just make up places, oleonard.
13:53 oleonard Sorry eythian, an even farther Athens.
13:53 eythian I wouldn't have much of a day left after dealing with airports and flying to greece
13:52 eythian Athens is a bit far away from me though
13:52 * LibraryClaire drools
13:48 oleonard http://www.athensbreadcompany.com/
13:45 eythian I had a look on maps at all the ones around where I live. None are open on Sunday, and only the one closest gets all 5/5 reviews.
13:28 LibraryClaire it's a higlight of moving back to Germany
13:27 magnuse just count yourselves lucky you have bakeries
13:21 LibraryClaire oleonard: I literally need to go round all of them and find their opening times. Suspect they're only open til like 7 though
13:18 eythian (or I could get up earlier, but ahahaha)
13:18 eythian I like the one near me, it's really good, just the hours mean that I only get to go there on saturdays.
13:18 LibraryClaire breakfast lady saves my day most days
13:18 oleonard LibraryClaire: Bakery stakeout!
13:17 oleonard It's just as well there isn't a breakfast lady here because I'd buy from her every day and go broke.
13:17 LibraryClaire I know there are bakerys open on Sunday but I haven't figured out which ones yet
13:16 eythian and on sunday
13:15 eythian because then I could make the bakery near me still be open when I get home from work
13:15 eythian *I wish that
13:15 eythian I wish I editing the hours of a place in google maps actually made the shop change its hours.
13:14 LibraryClaire there's an exciting insight into the start of myday
13:14 magnuse nice!
13:13 LibraryClaire sometimes i buy breakfast/lunch from her
13:13 magnuse not that i know
13:13 eythian that's what's wrong with your country
13:13 LibraryClaire there's a bakery van that drives around the industrial area here and stops outside the office at like 7:50/7:55 am
13:13 eythian magnuse: you don't have a breakfast lady?
13:13 magnuse LibraryClaire: the breakfast lady?

09:37 drojf that looks nice
09:37 drojf or i will borrow lumijyvänen
09:36 drojf a very long word
09:36 drojf we have a word for everything

09:34 drojf then i call it schneeregen and don't care
09:34 eythian and snow pellets are graupel in English
09:34 eythian "Unlike snow pellets, snow grains..."
09:34 drojf wtf
09:33 drojf leo says graupel is soft hail. lol
09:33 eythian no

09:33 drojf ah. graupel maybe
09:33 eythian so I guess it's like big snowflakes/tiny hail
09:32 eythian https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_grains
09:32 eythian oh, no, it's different
09:32 drojf oh it is less than snow? it sounded like more, or special
09:32 eythian I think it means that it's snowing, but not quite enough to call it snow. Or something along those lines.
09:29 drojf what is snow grains? hail?
09:28 eythian hello drojf
