00:40 bag oh noes! yeah I sing dinosaur train songs now all the time

00:45 bag hola nengard
00:45 nengard hiya
00:46 bag waiting for your flight?
00:48 dcook Dinobots?
00:49 * dcook seems to recall a dinosaur/transformer crossover type thing...
00:49 trea indeed
00:49 wizzyrea dinobots
00:50 dcook :D
00:53 nengard yes
00:54 nengard found a plug so i'm happy
00:54 nengard have to move soon though and go to my gate
00:56 dcook That reminds me of how they made me throw out my water at the gate in Abu Dhabi... even though I'd bought the water in the Abu Dhabi airport after going through security...
00:57 * dcook doesn't miss airports...
00:59 bag yeah dcook that happened to me - I bought a bottle of fernet in argentina and then in panama they made me throw it away before getting on the plane (I was so annoyed)
00:59 dcook Ugh! That sounds much worse :(
00:59 bag I didn't have to go through security again, but had to have my bag scanned before getting on the US flight :(
01:00 dcook Mmm, I think I've had that happen
01:00 dcook In SF, I thought I'd have to go through security twice, but they let me go around (although they scanned my bag).
01:00 bag they scanned me :P
01:01 bag heh me = bag :P
01:01 dcook Just as I was grabbing my bag and leaving, I was told to stop by someone with a rather brusque way
01:01 dcook Turned out he just wanted to compliment my tshirt :p
01:01 dcook hehe. bag. :p
01:01 bag ha
01:02 dcook I heard about someone getting pulled out of a security line up because they had a Linux tshirt on
01:02 dcook The guard wanted recommendations on the best distro to use at home :p
01:02 wizzyrea haha linux evangelism, I like it.
01:02 dcook hehe
01:03 dcook For me, it just means I'm never wearing anything geeky in an airport, if I want to move with any amount of speed :p
01:03 * bag digs out his - don't f@#k with me tshirt
01:03 bag well honestly I don't have one
01:04 dcook I don't think they'd like that either :p
01:04 dcook Actually, I know a former airport security guard. Apparently, he used to delight in teasing passengers.
01:05 dcook Especially when he knows who they are but they don't know who he is
01:05 dcook (He knew my sister's American boyfriend from photos, but the boyfriend didn't know the guard/family friend.)
01:05 dcook O_O
01:05 dcook Ok, enough airports. Back to BSort1 and BSort2.
01:08 wizzyrea Airport guards should be only one thing: courteous and friendly.
01:08 wahanui wizzyrea: That doesn't look right. Try 'airport code for CITY' or 'airport name for CODE' instead.
01:08 wizzyrea two things.
01:08 dcook hehe
01:08 wizzyrea teasing is right out.
01:08 dcook Agreed
01:08 wizzyrea because you can't tease them back.
01:09 dcook Or you shouldn't
01:09 dcook Someone I know didn't appreciate the aggression a guard was giving them so they got a bit aggressive themselves
01:09 dcook I think it took them an extra hour or so to get out of the airport :p
01:09 wizzyrea oh that's a big mistake
01:10 dcook Yeah, they hadn't flown much before
01:10 wizzyrea only an hour
01:10 dcook Yeah, they were lucky
01:10 dcook International flight too
01:10 wizzyrea i'm happy to fly in NZ, very pleasant
01:10 wizzyrea half of the time you don't go through security because the planes aren't big enough to make it to another landmass.
01:11 bag I've never really had a problem with TSA - but I saw this horrible situation where a woman was afraid of dogs and this custom agent was yelling at her while she had a customs-dog with them...
01:11 bag she didn't speak a word of english and the customs agent was just really really rude
01:11 wizzyrea they snuffle people with beagles in NZ customs, adorable things.
01:11 bag the agent wanted the woman to come over to her - and she wouldn't cause of the dog
01:12 bag I spoke up and said - she's afraid of the dog - the agent was a snot to me - telling me to mind my own business...
01:12 bag I went over and grabbed the womans luggage and dragged it over to the agent and stood there until the woman saw what I was doing - so she came over
01:12 bag agent put me through extra screening (ha) I didn't have anything to hide
01:13 bag I felt so embarassed to be from the same coutnry as that agent
01:13 dcook :(
01:13 dcook I know those feels
01:13 dcook The embarrassment. Not the fear of dogs.
01:14 bag and I was all high on meeting such great people in china and thailand and just had such a great respect for other cultures (and was already embarassed at my country's sterotypes etc)
01:14 dcook Although it seems rather horrible when people who are afraid of dogs are confronted by their fears.
01:14 bag yeah dcook I mean you could clearly she the woman was terrified of dogs
01:14 dcook :(
01:14 bag and it wasn't a cute little beagle - it was a big german sheppard
01:15 rangi there was a MAF guy in auckland being a dick to a woman who i think was spanish, she spoke no english anyway, did the typical talk louder cos that suddenly makes people understand
01:16 rangi about her shoes (if she had been in dirt or stuff)
01:16 rangi but his colleague who was a massive samoan guy said, 'stop being a dick' which stopped it
01:16 bag AWESOME
01:17 bag I would have been fined or something for laughing too loud at that
01:17 dcook Wow... that's rad that he stopped
01:17 rangi generally the nz ones are pretty good
01:17 bag yeah that's what you've always said tan
01:17 bag rangi:
01:17 bag not tan
01:17 bag :P
01:17 dcook As for german sheppards, the pub by my house now uses them for security
01:18 rangi you can be unlucky, get someone at the end of a shift, with like 10 flights all coming in
01:18 dcook The night I got back from Europe, the one actually leapt for my throat, but the handler was big enough to keep them back.
01:18 rangi altho ive been lucky at LAX too
01:18 dcook Fun times walking on the sidewalk in my own neighbourhood :S
01:18 rangi with the customs/tsa
01:18 rangi its just the airport itself sucks at lax
01:18 dcook Yeah, I've had pretty good experience with customs/tsa overall
01:18 bag my trip to argentina was a bit more rough this time - but that was my own fault
01:19 rangi cept that one time with bag, when we were on the way to ALA
01:19 rangi i think that was about the best time ive had in LAX
01:19 rangi the flight back was a bit more dramatic tho
01:19 bag yeah
01:19 rangi we had to land in arizona i think .. at an airforce airstrip?
01:20 bag yeah actually rangi I ended up playing baseball this year right next to that strip we landed on
01:20 bag and the doctor was the sitting right next to us too - right?
01:20 dcook O_O
01:21 rangi ohh thats right
01:21 bag yeah dcook some old man had a heart attack
01:21 bag the doctor was doing CPR for about 15 minutes or so before they got him off the plane
01:22 bag the doctor actually said - that was the first time he's had to do CPR and use a defibulator in the "wild"
01:23 dcook Wow... intense
01:23 bag ok I gotta head home - night night y'all
01:23 dcook nighters
01:23 rangi cya bag
01:23 dcook The wild...
01:23 dcook Oh man. When my wife went to hospital earlier in the year, there was a guy who couldn't speak English whose foot was turning black.
01:23 dcook He had no insurance and no idea what was going on.
01:24 dcook No idea what ever happened to him, but I can't imagine it was good...
01:24 dcook Makes me wonder about the guy on that plane with the heart attack as well
01:25 rangi yeah dunno what happened with him
01:25 dcook I guess not, eh? Sounds like quite the drama.
01:30 wizzyrea cpr for 15 minutes would be highly taxing
03:58 dcook Hmm, I'm not sure the "AllowRenewalLimitOverride" system preference works in 3.14...
03:58 dcook Or maybe it just doesn't work the way I expect
03:58 dcook Probably the latter
04:01 dcook Oh wait...
04:09 dcook It does indeed work :)
04:09 dcook Just not when a hold is on the item
04:09 dcook Which makes sense
04:10 dcook (Forgot to tick the Override Renewal Limit box)
04:10 dcook Now to remember how to figure out messaging preferences in the DB...
05:30 dcook I hate wysiwyg editors...
05:44 bag hola
05:44 wahanui kia ora, bag
05:55 cait hola :)

06:17 bag heh

07:35 marcelr hi #koha
07:38 marcelr hi mveron
07:41 ashimema do we require mod_rewrite ?
07:41 rangi yes
07:42 ashimema I know there are some rewrite rules in the default configs.. but are we required as devs to degrade gracefully..?
07:42 ashimema oh.. you answered before I finished :)
07:42 rangi mod_rewrite is required, the configs wont load without it
07:43 ashimema any chance you could take a very quick glance at my alternative patch to bug 12904 rangi?
07:43 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=12904 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, kyle, In Discussion , Force browser to load new javascript files after upgrade
07:43 rangi has been since about 2006
07:43 rangi looks fine to me
07:43 ashimema brill.. I thought that was the case.. but worth checking before adding a rule :)
07:43 rangi however i think we need to do it for css too
07:44 rangi or you end up with a mess still
07:44 ashimema I completely agree.. that was going to be my next followup ;)
07:44 ashimema I'll followup with a css one too.
07:44 rangi and once its tested properly, up the cache time
07:44 ashimema exactly my thoughts..
07:44 ashimema though to be fair.. i can't remember how to do that.. it's setting it in the headers isn't it.
07:45 rangi yep
07:46 mveron Good morning #koha
07:46 rangi ExpiresByType text/css "access plus 12 hours"
07:47 rangi if you look in /etc/koha/apache-shared.conf
07:47 ashimema personally.. I'd even like to see the js and css sysprefs written out to file with a hash appended and then linked to instead of embedded..
07:47 ashimema would allow us to cache those too ;)
07:47 ashimema ooh.. awesome..
07:47 wahanui That'll be $1 for the awesome jar, ashimema
07:47 ashimema thanks rangi.
07:48 rangi yep
07:49 ashimema do you agree that 'my way' is better than kyles rangi..?
07:50 ashimema before I go to the effort of extending the basic counter patch ;)
07:51 rangi yes
07:52 bag ok time to head home night night
07:52 rangi most proxies wont see his versions as different files, so wont fetch new ones
07:52 ashimema k, cheers
07:52 ashimema night bag
07:52 rangi and conversely lots of browsers will see it as dynamic and never cache
07:52 ashimema I thought that was the case... I don't think he quite understood Owens comment
07:52 rangi kinda lose lose
07:53 ashimema I think my patch bascially impliments the best feature of mod_pagespeed.. without the overhead of the rest of the stuff mod_pagespeed has..
07:53 rangi yeah
07:53 ashimema great.. I'm happy then.
07:54 rangi its exactly what we do with stuff.co.nz
07:54 rangi http://static2.stuff.co.nz/1413949795/static/css/all.min.css
07:54 ashimema now I just need to find the right regex to find all the css imports and replace them with versioned ones..
07:54 rangi time stamp of when the packages were built
07:54 ashimema cool.. always ncie to be varified :)
07:56 rangi what we should do eventually is make a really simple tt filter
07:57 ashimema very much.. but I've never delved into that area of tt so far ;)
07:57 rangi http://www.workbuffer.org/presentations/kohacon_hackfest/html/slide002.html
07:57 alex_a bonjour
07:57 wahanui bonjour, alex_a
07:57 ashimema was meant to be a quick fix this morning..
07:57 ashimema that's a tad simple looking :)
07:57 rangi then we can just put | $Cachebuster
07:58 rangi or something
07:58 wahanui hmmm... something is sketchy
07:58 rangi on every url we want
08:00 ashimema that would certainly be an improvement.
08:02 rangi hmm that reminds me
08:02 rangi http://www.workbuffer.org/presentations/kohacon_hackfest/html/slide003.html
08:02 rangi i wrote this plugin, its in koha .. i should start work restructuring tt files into smaller chunks that we can cache
08:03 ashimema Yeah.. I just spotted that slide and was wondering about it
08:03 ashimema are there any examples of it's use in the wild?
08:03 ashimema I'm still nto up to speed on how the template caching works. ;)
08:04 rangi theres 2 levels
08:04 rangi we cache the rendered perl on the server
08:05 rangi thats the bit defined in C4::Templates
08:05 cait morning
08:05 cait hi rangi
08:05 wizzybobizzy @wunder nzwn
08:05 huginn wizzybobizzy: The current temperature in Wellington, New Zealand is 10.0°C (8:30 PM NZDT on November 06, 2014). Conditions: Overcast. Humidity: 71%. Dew Point: 5.0°C. Pressure: 30.04 in 1017 hPa (Steady).
08:06 rangi http://perldoc.koha-community.org/Koha/Template/Plugin/Cache.html
08:06 rangi that caches the rendered html
08:06 rangi (or xml, or whatever)
08:06 rangi ie the finished product
08:07 rangi so for things like the top nav, side nav, bottom etc
08:07 rangi which is the same on all the pages, but does a bunch of db queries each time, and runs some perl to generate it
08:07 rangi we could cache them in whatever caching we defined in Koha::Cache (could be fastmmap, memcached etc)
08:08 ashimema I see.. nice..
08:08 ashimema We'de need a way to override/refresh the cache still though right?
08:08 rangi just put a ttl on it
08:08 ashimema for say, a syspref change that affects said block?
08:09 rangi yep, have a 5 min ttl
08:09 ashimema oooh.. I see what your saying now :)
08:09 rangi the stuff gets rendered once every 5 mins
08:09 ashimema awesome.. that would lead to a pretty big performance improvement.
08:09 rangi even if 30000 people hit it in that time
08:09 ashimema love it..
08:09 rangi yeah, if you structure things right, you can make things fly
08:10 ashimema sorry.. breakfast time and family are calling..
08:10 ashimema be back shortly :)
08:10 rangi no worries
08:10 ashimema thanks rangi.. you've inspired me again :)
08:14 wizzybobizzy crikey our git repo is huge.
08:14 reiveune hello
08:14 wizzybobizzy hi
08:14 wahanui que tal, wizzybobizzy
08:34 ashimema yup...
08:34 ashimema too big
08:35 gaetan_B hello
08:35 wahanui hello, gaetan_B
08:43 ashimema damn we include css files in allot of files.
08:44 wizzybobizzy http://i.imgur.com/D6ekIpa.png what do you think of this
08:45 wizzybobizzy I had a comment about that page, that it seemed confusing
08:45 cait looks ok to me - only the tile might be a little short
08:47 wizzybobizzy http://i.imgur.com/0YGdB6p.png vs this
08:47 wizzybobizzy the comment I had
08:48 wizzybobizzy was that people thought they could search, say, a title, or an author, but not both
08:48 wizzybobizzy and of course you can do that.
08:48 wizzybobizzy cait not sure what you mean about the title?
08:49 wizzybobizzy I didn't change that part ^.^
08:49 cait ah, ok :)
08:50 cait ah right, it's normally 2 columns
08:50 cait i get it nw
08:51 gaetan_B it does make much more sense to me with only one column indeed!
08:52 cait yeah :)
08:52 wizzybobizzy maybe I'll send the screencaps to a couple librarians.
08:53 cait i didn't even remember it should be 2 columns .)
08:53 wizzybobizzy haha
08:53 cait I think that's a sign it makes much more sense like that
08:54 wizzybobizzy hehe
08:54 wizzybobizzy it's a pretty oft-used interface
08:56 paxed wizzybobizzy: i like it diesn't take any more space, but still allows for lots more target servers.
08:56 paxed doesn't*
08:56 wizzybobizzy hm that's also a good point
08:56 paxed also, it should probably reorder the search fields a bit - author after title, isbn and issn should be also one after another, etc.
08:57 wizzybobizzy it does increase the number of servers you can get on the screen before you have to scroll
08:57 wizzybobizzy yeah good point there too
08:57 wizzybobizzy I think most people start with ISBN/ISSN
08:57 wizzybobizzy then title/author
08:57 wizzybobizzy just watching the way people use it
08:58 ashimema I actualyl quite like the two column layout.. though aggreee that they should be contained in the same blue box.. not two seperate ones ;)
08:58 paxed we've got 9 targets, and that already causes scrolling.
08:59 wizzybobizzy yeah that was going to be my next idea
08:59 paxed with your layout, it probably won't
08:59 cait paul_p: gonna see you in december :)
08:59 wizzybobizzy one box, 2 columns
08:59 paul_p cait yeah ! (you'll help me understanding & translating DE>EN if needed ;-) )
09:00 wizzybobizzy this one was actually kind of a pleasant surprise in the intermediate stages of thinking about this screen ;)
09:00 cait paul_p: we will see :) are you going to the dinner?
09:00 wizzybobizzy a "oh, I hadn't thought about doing it that way" sort of surprise.
09:05 paul_p cait yep
09:06 cait paul_p: me and the coworker will attend too
09:06 cait meeting now :) bbl
09:06 paul_p cait so I'll meet your co-worker ! (I started to think he did not exist ;-) )
09:11 wizzybobizzy right, off I go later peeps. :)
09:38 Joubu Hello
09:38 Joubu cait: I don't have any occurrences of GetBookSeller in serials/claims.pl (bug 12896). Could you confirm?
09:38 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=12896 normal, P5 - low, ---, jonathan.druart, Failed QA , Move the bookseller-related code into its own module
09:57 Joubu marcelr: hi! What means "Degree (complete with 0):" (bug 13203) ?
09:57 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13203 trivial, P5 - low, ---, m.de.rooy, Needs Signoff , Plugin housekeeping: UNIMARC field 123i, 123j, 210c
09:58 Joubu marcelr: Does it should be 000 for degree and 00 for the 2 others?
10:04 paxed what's the easy way to delete most of the database biblios &c, just leave enough to work as a test db?
10:12 cait paul_p: i have many coworkers - this is not the Koha one :) she is working on the union catalog team
10:14 cait Joubu: i tested on master from yesterday and the claims page exploded with the patches - i checked after I did the git grep
10:14 cait Joubu: are you testing on a super current branch?
10:15 cait hi Viktor
10:15 Viktor Hi cait :)
10:15 Joubu cait: I let a note, you certainly forgot to apply the deps
10:15 Viktor And greetings all of #koha
10:15 cait Joubu: oh
10:15 cait http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=blob;f=serials/claims.pl;hb=a86e69c86bd99e463e6702ee487e18af7a9cb79a#l27
10:16 cait Joubu: thought they were all pushed
10:16 Joubu no, 1 is missing
10:16 cait 12852?
10:16 Joubu yep, pqa
10:16 cait i think if that's the only thing i can pass qa on it tonight - i already tested acq up and down when i ran into it :)
10:17 cait i have the test report to proof it :)
10:22 Viktor btw - return by 23:59 when the library closes 18:00 is a bit silly. Can we hide the hh:mm-part from receipts and notes?
10:24 Viktor (or make the timestamp respect the opening hours by specifying not only open days but also open hours somewhere in the calendar)
10:34 cait Viktor: which version are you using?
10:35 cait it hink the display got a bit better in the newer ones - not showing the 23:59
10:35 Viktor Hm. Thinks it's been that way since we started on 3.6 or something. But currently we are on 3.16.4
10:36 Viktor Ah - that would be great. We updated recently so I'll check it :)
10:36 cait hm i can't check righ tnow - it might be only in some places, or it's in 3.18 - not really sure sorry
10:37 Viktor No problem. I can do a "git pull" on my dev and check if it's on it's way :) Just didn't know anyone had bothered to fix it.
10:48 cait Viktor: if you see places it's not ok, please let me know - i also think that the 23.59 makes no sense for libraries that don't do hourly loans :)
10:52 Viktor cait: It's in 3.16.04 at lest - and it's even 23:59:00 :)
10:54 Viktor cait: my dev was a bit behind but I can see now that it's on "slip" and "quick slip" in 3:17 too.
10:56 marcelr        thx Joubu++
10:58 Viktor cait: If it's useful for hourly loans I guess we can't remove it but should rather add the possibility to define opening hours in the calendar(?)

12:53 oleonard Hi #koha
12:59 cait hi oleonard :)
12:59 cait Joubu: i had asked on bug 13190 about the check-in export (from the toolbar) - liz said it works for her, so I'd drop that

13:02 Joubu cait: yep, I tested this morning and it works for me too
13:06 oleonard When is string freeze?
13:14 oleonard http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Roadmap_to_3.12 <-- That would be a nice thing to continue to do.
13:23 tcohen oleonard: i should have written a roadmap like that

14:01 chris_n when running runreport.pl I'm getting "read error at /usr/lib/perl5/XML/Parser/Expat.pm line 470." Any ideas on what might be wrong? Maybe some syntax problem in my koha-conf.xml?
14:01 oleonard chris_n: From the command line? Package install?
14:02 chris_n from the cli and it is a package install
14:02 chris_n seemed to work fine a few weeks ago
14:03 oleonard Someone told me the way to do that just the other day, now what was it?
14:03 cait hm usng koha-shell?
14:03 oleonard Yes, that's it
14:04 chris_n koha-shell?
14:05 chris_n wow!
14:05 * chris_n has been out of touch
14:05 oleonard chris_n: I was asking about running the tests and was told to use ' sudo koha-shell -c "prove" <instance> '
14:05 * oleonard had to consult the irc log... should write that down somewhere...
14:06 cait chris_n: it will set the env variables and everything correctly for you :)
14:08 chris_n cool!
14:08 chris_n that worked

14:44 cait i have a library that wants to change the text
14:44 cait but my usual replace technique is not working... because there is some other javascriptfor that element executed later in the page
14:44 cait is there a way?
14:45 cait and shoudl we put the opacuserjs at the end of the page maybe? this is 3.16.3, not sure if something changed
14:46 cait we had tried: $("#selections-toolbar span a:contains('Alle auswählen')").text('Aktuelle Trefferseite auswählen'); - but it doesn't work from opacuserjs, only in the firebug console

14:53 cait tgoat: wrong channel ;)
14:53 tgoat thank calt
14:53 tgoat thanks
14:53 tgoat cait
14:53 tgoat too early .. I need my glasses
14:55 oleonard Sorry cait got pulled away for a moment. I'm taking a look.
14:56 cait oleonard: was worried i scared you off and that iw as missing something obvious .)

15:10 cait oho! will test, thx!

15:37 plato hi
15:38 plato anyone wants to help a newbie?
15:39 * plato slaps stigbd around a bit with a large fishbot
15:41 oleonard plato: Help you move into a new apartment? Jump start your car? Peel 50 pounds of shrimp?
15:42 jcamins oleonard: even granted how much my wife likes shrimp, I don't think we could finish 50 lbs in a year.
15:43 oleonard jcamins: Fine, there goes your Christmas present.
15:44 jcamins oleonard: I'll just keep these 50lbs of fudge to myself!
15:44 jcamins :P
15:44 plato what should i do to let my friends access koha that i set up on my computer over internet. im really a newbie. would be great if you give me something to search on google
15:47 ashimema oleanoard about?
15:47 jcamins plato: you'll need to run Koha on a server that is accessible over the internet. That's actually it, though you'll probably want to set up DNS so that your friend can go to yourlibrary.yourdomain.com instead of 123.123.123.123
15:47 ashimema oleonard about?
15:47 oleonard Yes ashimema
15:47 wahanui ashimema is, like, on qa now .)
15:47 ashimema do you fancy taking a look at bug 12904 now i've posted an alternative?
15:47 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=12904 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, kyle, In Discussion , Force browser to load new javascript files after upgrade
15:48 oleonard wahanui: You should give him a crown to wear
15:48 wahanui oleonard: what?
15:48 ashimema pretty please :)
15:49 oleonard ashimema: Sure. But what I really want is for some people with bigger brains than mine to comment.
15:50 plato oleonard: is it possible to configure my computer to make it an accessible server over the internet or is it about my isp too?
15:50 jcamins plato: you'll have to work with your ISP.
15:50 jcamins And they almost certainly will not allow you to do it if you just have a regular internet connection.
15:50 jcamins ashimema: FWIW, I don't like it
15:51 plato is it allowed here to recommend some servers that make it?
15:51 jcamins ashimema: rewriting the path seems more common.
15:52 jcamins plato: pretty much any hosted server with root access will work. Linode, Amazon EC2, DigitalOcean, Rackspace... gazillions of others, too.
15:53 jcamins ashimema: so, /[% KOHA_VERSION %]/whatever.js
15:53 jcamins ashimema: also, YUI is not subject to changing, so I dislike the idea of forcing the browser to reload it every upgrade.
15:54 * jcamins goes back to what he's supposed to be doing.
15:54 plato jcamins: thank you so much
15:55 oleonard ashimema: It doesn't apply for me on master
15:56 jcamins ashimema: I didn't test it or anything, I just took "In Discussion" as an excuse to discuss.
15:56 ashimema thanks for the comments jcamins..
15:56 ashimema hmm.. i'll see why it doens't apply..
15:58 ashimema yup..
15:58 ashimema master has moved on a tiny bit..
15:58 jcamins ashimema: I like the concept, though.
15:59 ashimema I'll rebase oleonard.. thanks for taking a look so quick..
15:59 ashimema hmm.. so.. rather than adapt the filenames, you'de adapt the path jcamins.
15:59 ashimema I've not seen it done that way around before..
16:00 ashimema fair point about YUI not changing.. but I felt it easier to do a patch for the whole lot than to shrink it down..
16:01 * oleonard shakes his fist at basketgroups
16:01 ashimema one reload every month (assuming you actually updating that often) shuoldn't really be too much of an issue ;)
16:01 ashimema what up ?
16:01 reiveune bye
16:01 Joubu tcohen: If you have a list of bugs to follow for 3.18, please add bug 13215. Very bad bug, I hope the patch I have just submited fixes the problem without introduce too many others...
16:01 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13215 major, P5 - low, ---, jonathan.druart, Needs Signoff , letter.code is considered as a primary key
16:01 jcamins ashimema: oh, I just dislike caching that many identical versions of YUI on principle. I don't see any real performance problem.
16:02 cait           Joubu++ thx
16:02 Joubu cait: it needs to be tested quite wide...
16:04 cait I will try to take alook - but i have a time problem this week and next - I won't be around much
16:05 cait starting from saturday :(
16:05 ashimema K, rebase submitted oleanard..
16:05 ashimema however.. as I didn't obsolete Kyles original patch if your using git bz, you'll need to apply interactively and skip his first patch ;)
16:06 ashimema not expecting you to look immediately.. was more of an excited.. 'I think I've found the solution' :)
16:13 Joubu ashimema: just a quick note:
16:13 Joubu +[% USE Koha %] +[% SET KOHA_VERSION = Koha.Preference('Version') %]
16:14 Joubu maybe it is better to send the value to the template in C4::Auth
16:14 Joubu That's how it's done for this kind of variable, we will need it everywhere
16:15 ashimema Probably a good idea.. I did it this way as I based it on Kyles original patch..
16:16 ashimema As rangi said earlier though actaully.. what would be even better would be to create a tt plugin/filter to do the job for us..
16:17 Joubu ashimema: for instance, in uncertainprice.tt, you use KOHA_VERSION, but forgot to define it :)
16:17 Joubu same in aqbudgetperiods.tt
16:17 Joubu (maybe I missed something, I just had a very quick look)
16:19 cait Joubu: I wonder if there is a case where a library wants to delete the default notice but have a specific one - for example the suggestion notices can not be deactivated - the only way is to delete it. So if one library wanted to use them, but another branch does not...
16:19 cait not sure if that would currently work. hm.
16:20 cait i agree about not using the same code in another module
16:20 Joubu cait: are you sure it does not work to delete the default one and keep the specific?
16:20 gaetan_B bye
16:21 cait Joubu: was not sure from your description- will need testing then :)
16:26 ashimema oh poo.. I thought I'd caught over instance of that Joubu..
16:26 ashimema s/over/every
16:28 Joubu bye
16:31 cait bye :)
16:39 ashimema I don't see any missing in Joubu..
16:39 ashimema https://github.com/mrenvoize/Koha/compare/bug_12904?expand=1
16:40 ashimema compared to master with all the patches applied..
16:40 ashimema perhaps I should squash the set.. ;)
16:42 Joubu ashimema: I didn't manage to apply the patches, I just looked at the diff.
16:42 Joubu so yes, I certainly missed something :)
16:43 ashimema yeah.. I think I swept up all issues in the last commit..
16:43 ashimema which isn't very well named ;)
16:43 ashimema I'm squashing a set now.. it makes more sense that way ;)

17:17 pug Hi #Koha
17:19 nengard Coda was in the hospital for surgery, and now that she's home the doc said to put a shirt on her so she doesn't scratch - so I of course picked the Koha shirt: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10101118812412856&set=pcb.10101118812512656&type=1&theater
17:20 tcohen :-D
17:22 pug tcohen: I am using a multi site installation of Koha. And each library instance needs to have a separate sender email id. The email replay is currently through postfix. Do you know how to set separate sender email ids?
17:23 tcohen there is no SMTP configuration per-instance/branch
17:23 tcohen but you will be able to specify the from/reply-to on 3.18
17:25 * cait waves
17:27 * cait just tried to drown her fitbit in the washing machine
17:27 cait fortunately, it didn't work
17:34 pug tcohen: Thanks. You mean we will be able to specify from/reply-to per branch in 3.18?
17:37 cait reply to and return path addresses additionally to the branch email yes
17:39 pug cait: Ok. Thanks! - and what is the scheduled release date for 3.18?
17:39 cait tcohen just sent an email about that - 28th of november
17:42 pug wow! cool. Just in time. Thanks a ton and god bless you guys for the great work :)

19:07 cait hm?
19:08 rangi morning
19:09 oleonard Hi rangi
19:11 cait morning
19:14 rangi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSzeFFsKEt4
19:14 rangi ill just leave this here
19:15 oleonard I thought that the QA test tools would give an error if your Perl script contained a "warn" line
19:15 rangi hmm that would be a good thing for them to do, a warn without a condition
19:16 oleonard I must be thinking of a git hook
19:31 rk hello everyone
19:32 rk is there anyone with Polish
19:36 oleonard The librarians here do *not* like AJAX circ after a few days' use.
19:42 jcamins oleonard: why not?
19:43 oleonard The "always show checkouts" option not "sticking" is a big reason I think. But even with checkouts automatically loading, I think the delay between the page load and the checkouts loading is perceived (whether accurately or not) as being a longer wait than before
19:44 jcamins Ah.
19:44 rangi whats the bug for the sticking one oleonard ?
19:44 rangi i can have a look at that over the weekend
19:45 oleonard I've submitted a patch already rangi, but we don't have it yet ;)
19:45 cait i think we got that fixed
19:45 cait hopefully :)
19:45 cait oleonard: i know what youmean, but not sure if it's real or not :(
19:45 rangi ahh right
19:46 oleonard Folks are also saying that automatic removal of restrictions isn't working right anymore but I'm having trouble getting the details
19:46 wahanui okay, oleonard.
19:47 oleonard It seems to be very confusing to people that renewals process dynamically within the list of checkouts, and that the old due date remains listed.
19:48 rangi it does?
19:48 rangi hmm yeah that would be confusing
19:49 cait           oleonard++ # testing password reset
19:49 oleonard And this isn't working anymore: http://www.myacpl.org/koha/showing-item-type-counts-on-the-checkout-screen/
19:49 oleonard ...but it's my fault for not testing it before our upgrade :(
19:49 cait no it's not.
19:50 cait oleonard: did you file a report about the due date yet?
19:51 * cait is to blame formissing so many things in qa :(
19:51 oleonard Honestly I'm not sure what the right way to handle it is.
19:51 oleonard I can see that it might be useful to see the old due date along with the renewed date... maybe?
19:51 oleonard It might be that we just have to get used to it and it'll be fine. I don't know.
19:52 * magnuse thinks cait is awesome anyway - noone can catch 'em all
19:53 * oleonard too
19:57 oleonard Bye all
20:08 wizzyrea magnuse - I have a couple of git aliases that let me do things like git qa <bugnumber> and it creates me a branch qa-bugnumber, based on a freshly fetched and rebased master - would that kind of stuff be useful for the kohadevbox?
20:08 cait oh
