00:46 dcook Hola #koha
00:47 dcook Anyone else noticing that the top links on the intranet are white in IE?
00:47 dcook #header a.toplinks does specify #ffffff but this seems to be ignored by Chrome and FF
00:56 jcamins dcook: I imagine very few people have tried it.
00:56 dcook I think I might have it
00:56 dcook There is a hash before the colour property
00:57 dcook But hash isn't a comment symbol in CSS, me thinks
00:57 dcook But Chrome and FF must take it into account anyway, while IE does not..
00:58 dcook Although..
00:59 dcook It seems remedied in Master. I seem to remember someone doing some CSS edits recently
00:59 jcamins dcook: I suspect it's probably a matter of IE not respecting the overrides.
01:01 dcook Must be
01:04 dcook It looks like someone introduced some javascript at some point..
01:05 jcamins Is there some programmatic way to find out which languages have been more than 90% translated?
01:30 jcamins /me wishes rangi were around to provide the code for his sign off statistics thing.
02:20 jcamins Never mind. I figured it out. Sort of.
02:54 jcamins_away Woohoo! The release notes script now automatically generates the list of translations!

08:34 wahanui bonjour, tux
08:35 Guest2802 which is the best barcode printer koha supports ?
08:37 Guest2802 i have just checked Zebra S4M , but when printing with Biblio/Barcode it's not reading
08:46 tux_ hi
08:48 tux_ i have an issue with barcode printing, printer is Zebra S4M , i have generated Biblio/Barcode, but it is not getting read by barcode scanner
08:48 tux_ if printing with only Barcode, then it is reading
08:49 tux_ any idea about this iisue
08:50 tux_ or a printer that supports well in koha
08:53 Amit_Gupta cait around
08:58 slef tux_: try another barcode scanner, or another barcode generation format? Sounds strange though... maybe something about having the biblio on there is making your printer scale the barcode beyond the scanner's tolerance.
09:43 eythian hi
09:44 slef hi eythian
09:44 eythian howdy, slef
09:49 slef latest patch on bug 8413 should use URI::Escape::uri_escape_utf8 instead of regexing, shouldn't it?

09:56 drojf1 when i rebase and git applies my patch at the end and does not complain, do i trust it or should i do something for my added syspref or something?

10:43 rangi so the translation manager can push directly to their, and we just pull them in as part of the release

11:51 eythian jcamins: so, I think I've found a case where the upgrade schema and the structure schema don't match up properly. Hope to work out what it actually is soon, but I'm getting: "ERROR 1136 (21S01): Column count doesn't match value count at row 1" for something.
11:51 jcamins Uh-oh.
11:51 eythian unfortunately, mysql error messages suck, so it's going to take some searching to figure it out.
11:52 jcamins Wouldn't it be nice if we had a unit test that caught that.
11:52 eythian it would
11:52 eythian also: "ERROR 1048 (23000): Column 'cardnumber' cannot be null"
11:53 eythian which suggests that borrowers schema is also not matching perfectly.
11:55 jcamins Yup.
11:57 eythian I've just thought of a plan to make this easier to figure out. Implementing said plan now
11:58 jcamins Bonus karma if you turn the plan into a unit test. :)

12:25 jcamins Enjoying yourself?
12:30 eythian arg, so mysqldump doesn't include the column names when it generates insert statements, so if things have been moved around, this'll die.
12:31 eythian ah, --complete-insert
12:31 jcamins You can change that.
12:31 jcamins Yup.

12:31 kf I would love to see a unit test for that too btw
12:32 eythian you'd need to write something that can understand SQL, so that ordering differences don't upset it.
12:38 dpavlin does Koha::Calendar works for people? We have wrong DateTime->truncate( to => 'days') all over the place, we are ignoring holidays which aren't special (why?) and useDaysMode calendar seems to pick dates in future allmost randomly.
12:39 dpavlin Oh, and we have a but in day_month_closed_days which swaps days and months so it ignores all repeating entries...
12:40 jcamins dpavlin: I don't think it works, no.
12:40 jcamins However, I've never tested it.
12:40 jcamins I've just heard from lots of people that it doesn't.

13:20 kf dpavlin: the formula is wrong (math) - I actually have the right algorithm written down here, but I still have to implement it with a system preference in Koha :(
13:26 kf dpavlin: hm, not sure I did a good job explaining the problem
14:27 oleonard What the heck, spammers?

14:28 kf heh
14:39 jcamins_away Okay, maybe TweetBot wasn't such a good idea.
14:39 kf hm maybe it's only temporary
14:39 oleonard Good for spam-catching. My twitter client has an easy "report for spam" feature.

15:07 eythian jcamins_away: so far I've found: a 'discount' column in aqorders that doesn't exist in the newer schema, and 'deletedborrowers.cardnumber' never becoming non-null.
15:08 kf ugh.
15:08 jcamins eythian: ooh, sounds fun.
15:08 eythian the latter probably happened in 3.03.00.006
15:08 kf did you check if discount is currently used?
15:08 eythian kf: I couldn't see any reference in the code.
15:09 eythian with a quick look, anyway
15:09 eythian doesn't mean it's not extracted and used somewhere quite different
15:09 kf it might have been deleted, should be possible to find out when maybe...
15:09 kf hm.

15:55 CharlottevL Hello everybody.
15:57 CharlottevL I have (i think a small) problem :( I'm using koha for my private library, that I have at home. And today i tried to upgrade it to 4.10. Since that, nothing work :( According to some forum, i tried to check koha-httpd.conf, but I have to write something wrong, because now either LOCALHOST is not working :( Can anybody help?
15:58 kf CharlottevL: which versiondid you upgrade from?
15:58 kf version number starting with 4 indicates that you are using Liblime Koha - which is not the same as the Koha we talk about here
15:59 jcamins CharlottevL: unfortunately, the latest version of Koha is 3.8 not 4.10
15:59 kf yes
15:59 CharlottevL I downloaded this... https://github.com/liblime/LibLime-Koha/downloads
15:59 kf what he said
15:59 kf CharlottevL: but you said you updated, you have been always using thisß
15:59 kf ?
16:00 kf Liblime is a US company, they are the only ones supporting this version
16:00 jcamins CharlottevL: I fear no one here knows how to use that.
16:00 CharlottevL there s written koha4.10...
16:01 CharlottevL it was perfectly working for more than 1 year :( but today i have to change something in conf. file after upgrade...
16:01 jcamins CharlottevL: that's "LibLime Koha 4.10."
16:01 CharlottevL yes...
16:01 jcamins LibLime is a company.
16:01 CharlottevL sorry for my stupid questions, you can imagine, how a girl is good in this stuffs... :
16:02 jcamins It's very, very confusing.
16:02 jcamins If you don't mind a brief history lesson, I'll clarify. :)
16:02 CharlottevL thaanks :)
16:02 jcamins Koha is an open source system, developed over the last 13 years.
16:02 jcamins LibLime is a company that used to support Koha.
16:02 jcamins (the open source system)
16:03 jcamins In 2007 or 2008 or something like that, LibLime started to develop their own "fork" of Koha.
16:04 jcamins With their own code, and not using new code from the open source Koha project.
16:04 jcamins A few months (or years, I can't remember) ago, they released their "LibLime Koha," but it's now very different from Koha.
16:05 jcamins And no one else uses it because there is a welcoming community that has been working very hard on Koha all those years that LibLime was developing their own system.
16:05 jcamins They also made up new version numbers. The current version of Koha is 3.8.2. LibLime Koha is based on 3.1, but is called 4.10.
16:06 oleonard CharlottevL: And the mixup you're experiencing is deliberate on their part, as they want people looking for Koha to find them instead
16:06 jcamins Okay, that might not be very clear.
16:06 * jcamins tried
16:06 kf well, it is very confusing
16:06 CharlottevL I see it's more complicated than I though...
16:06 kf and it's not because we would not help you - it's only because we can't really
16:07 kf they are so different now, we would probably only confuse you
16:07 CharlottevL i have the whole time downloading from koha.org (the previous version too), that mean, I have liblime KOHA?
16:08 kf yes you have
16:08 slef CharlottevL: yep. That's Koha Fork, not Koha Four.
16:08 slef sorry
16:08 kf the koha open source community is using koha-community.org as domain
16:08 jcamins If the previous version of Koha you had was 3.something, you probably downloaded it before LibLime split of LibLime Koha.
16:08 jcamins *split off
16:08 jcamins Someone is vacuuming in the other room, and it keeps on killing my wireless.
16:08 slef jcamins: bad workman!
16:09 kf hm over a year ago - it might have already been liblime koha then
16:09 CharlottevL you're lucky :D my degu has destroyed internet cables yesterday :D
16:09 kf CharlottevL: were are you located?
16:09 CharlottevL czech republic
16:09 CharlottevL ok, 'im sure totaly stupid, i tried to restart apache and it's saying [Wed Jul 11 18:02:26 2012] [warn] NameVirtualHost *:8080 has no VirtualHosts
16:10 kf oh nice :)
16:10 kf not the error of coruse
16:10 kf course
16:10 CharlottevL why? have you ever been in Czech Republic?
16:10 kf hm I don't think so - but europe
16:10 * slef has
16:10 * oleonard has visited the Czech Republic and loved it
16:11 kf and I am not sure I know someone from czech republic yet
16:11 slef very slow train ride from Cheb to Prague
16:11 CharlottevL not only from cheb... actualy I know no fast train here...
16:11 * jcamins visited Prague.
16:11 CharlottevL and what about ceske budejovice? Budvar?
16:12 slef CharlottevL: that is only a warning, can be ignored, but suggests that the NameVirtualHost and VirtualHost entries disagree and you might like to take a look.
16:13 CharlottevL grep NameVirtualHost /etc/apache2/ports.conf give me NameVirtualHost *:80 NameVirtualHost *:8080
16:13 slef ooh that reminds me... I also visited Terezin camp and Cesky Krumlov
16:13 slef and I can't find accents on this keyboard
16:13 slef where is dead_check on a standard layout?
16:14 CharlottevL nice :) cesky krumlov is only 15 km away
16:14 slef ÄŒesky Krumlov
16:14 slef found it... probably that doesn't have one
16:14 slef :)
16:15 slef CharlottevL: now grep VirtualHost /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/*
16:15 CharlottevL yes, Český Krumlov
16:15 slef heh, an acute too... my czech is well stale
16:15 CharlottevL nepovídej, že umíš česky :)
16:16 slef mluvite anglicky?
16:16 CharlottevL that's perfect! Where did you learn it?
16:16 CharlottevL grep VirtualHost /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/* /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default:<VirtualHost *:80> /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default:</VirtualHost> /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/koha:#NameVirtualHost * /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/koha:<VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:80> /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/koha:</VirtualHost> /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/koha:<VirtualHost 1
16:17 slef CharlottevL: on a slow train to prague about 15 years ago...
16:17 CharlottevL tried 2 month ago, still slow
16:17 slef CharlottevL: riight, so if there's no VirtualHost *:8080 stanza, you could comment out the line in ports.conf and the errors would stop.
16:18 CharlottevL ok, its stops...
16:18 CharlottevL (because I think, the problem is not in upgrade... but after upgrade i replace again all localhost with my IP and I think, I have to write something wrong somewhere...)
16:19 jcamins CharlottevL: if you were accessing the staff client via port 8080, you might need to change that so that it listens on port 8080 again (and uncomment the line in ports.conf).
16:20 slef if the server will only host one Koha, you could change all 127.0.0.1:whatever to *:whatever and comment out and NameVirtualHost 127.0.0.1:whatever lines
16:20 slef but this is all apache stuff, not koha
16:20 jcamins However, this is a guess, since I'm not sure how much the httpd-conf will have changed.
16:21 CharlottevL for me it's the same thing, something, what I don't understand... :( without step-by-step howto instruction, i wouldn be able to install KOHA.
16:21 CharlottevL the server is only for KOHA.
16:22 slef jcamins: well, it used to have NameVirtualHost lines in the httpd-conf, which is a bit iffy, so I expect LibLime Koha Fork still does it, as that's well iffy
16:22 slef CharlottevL: it's Koha, meaning something like "gift" in te reo Maori. It's not an abbreviation.
16:23 CharlottevL an other interesting information :)
16:23 slef and I'm probably butchering the Maori language like a good pakeha too, so don't trust me on the specifics :)
16:24 CharlottevL you know sure more than me... You know czech language!
16:24 CharlottevL the maori language can't be more complicated
16:24 CharlottevL an other stupid question... where should i change, where it listens? :(
16:24 kf slef also speaks German... I think he might like complicated languages :)
16:25 slef I also speak esperanto... I prefer simple languages, but humanity seems to like complicated.
16:25 eythian slef: it's hard to translate strictly, but that's close enough to right
16:25 jcamins CharlottevL: do you remember what version of Koha you had before your upgrade, and do you have a backup from before the upgrade?
16:25 eythian slef: also, Māori ;)
16:25 slef CharlottevL: two places: ports.conf and the koha file in /etc/apache/sites-available/
16:26 * slef was taught English by a Māori, French by a Greek, German by Italian <-- true story
16:26 CharlottevL is it possible, /etc/apache/sites-available/ is empty file?
16:27 slef to be fair, Anglo-Greek and Anglo-Italian IIRC
16:27 eythian slef: funny story, the Māori name of the university I went to is "Te Whare Wānanga o Otāgo" (The house of learning in Otago), however if you instead write: "Te Whare Wananga o Otāgo", it's apparently more like "The house of war..."
16:27 slef I think
16:27 CharlottevL slef: wen jemand deutsch sprechen will - ich studiere jetzt in Linz, so kein problem :D aber Maori wirklich noch nicht...
16:27 slef eythian: oops. That could go badly wrong.
16:28 jcamins slef: accurate, depending on the department, though.
16:28 slef CharlottevL: jemand will nicht Deutsch sprechen...
16:28 kf CharlottevL: ich bin nächste Woche in Linz!
16:28 eythian (slef: I haven't confirmed that however.)
16:29 kf I am in Linz next week to talk about Koha
16:29 slef CharlottevL: Man geht durch Deutschland, fragt etwas Deutschsprachige, und man repondiert Englishsprächige...
16:29 kf that's funny :)
16:29 slef and in case it wasn't clear yet, my written German is horrendous
16:30 CharlottevL that's normal :D but it's sound good, if I will not have to be in lab (I study biochemistry :D), maybe I'll come, cause i see, i know nothing about Koha
16:30 slef nearly as bad as my spanish pronounciation, if you haven't heard http://s.coop/q1af yet
16:31 slef kf: who are you talking to? I was in London talking about Koha to a Top Sekrit Kabal
16:31 CharlottevL that's your voice?
16:31 slef yesterday
16:31 kf it's as part of a bigger event for hm clerical(?) libraries - so I am afraid it's not open :(
16:31 slef CharlottevL: it's a show I was interviewed on
16:31 kf oh and btw, any hints about such libraries using Koha for my slides are appreciated :)
16:32 slef kf: what sort of clerics?
16:32 slef kf: I don't want to have you telling the Catholics about how wonderful and farsighted the Protestants are ;-)
16:32 kf I thik there will be monks and nuns
16:33 kf oh... my virtualbox says it will only take another 8 hours to clone the machine? ugh.
16:35 kf ah, how time runs, only 6 hours now
16:36 CharlottevL you're using Asgard technology from StarGate?
16:36 kf heh
16:36 kf maybe... :)
16:37 CharlottevL btw. I know, you're experts to koha, not to apache, would it help, if I reinstall apache? (if koha is properly working and only some .conf files are false...)
16:37 slef reinstalling rarely helps :) What's the problem?
16:37 kf 5!
16:38 slef kf: keep that time warp away from me! I've enough to do already without losing hours in minutes!
16:38 kf hehe ok
16:38 kf actually for that I would like that sand... clock? from harry potter
16:38 CharlottevL http://127.0.1.1:8080/ 404 not found on this server...
16:38 wizzyrea oh, have you disabled the default site?
16:39 kf slowing the time a little bit to have more time to do all my work...
16:39 slef CharlottevL: put the output of apache2ctl -S (shows virtualhosts) into http://paste.koha-community.org/
16:39 wizzyrea        slef++ that's a great tip
16:40 kf 4 - that's good, maybe I won't miss dinner
16:40 pastebot "CharlottevL" at 127.0.0.1 pasted "404 not found" (11 lines) at http://paste.koha-community.org/25
16:41 CharlottevL your progress have exponential curve, in 20 minutes, it should be done :)
16:42 eythian wizzyrea: disabling the default site is a bit of a bad thing. It can make stuff work, but if it fixes something, it means that there is still a problem existing, and you've just made the one that's there first as the default.
16:42 eythian This can bite later, or cause even more confusing symptoms.
16:43 eythian (like, I had the opac for another instance showing up on the URL for something else for a while. That made me very confused until I worked it out)
16:43 slef            eythian++
16:43 eythian I didn't think I was _that_ mean :(
16:44 slef CharlottevL: This worries me "apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1 for ServerName". Makes me think networking is misconfigured at a system level.
16:44 eythian slef: naw, that's not a bad error
16:44 eythian the default install on some systems does it.
16:45 eythian it can be fixed by putting something into the right place in /etc/hosts
16:45 jcamins slef: that's normal.
16:45 jcamins slef: annoying, but normal.
16:46 eythian I think that there needs to be a wildcard *:8080 put somewhere
16:46 jcamins eythian: when accessing a server via IP, there is no option but to disable the default site.
16:46 * eythian doesn't tend to split out ports so isn't 100% sure.
16:46 eythian jcamins: that's something else I don't do, good point.
16:47 slef jcamins: no, the Norms say you configure the networking correctly ;-)
16:47 slef anyway, maybe not the problem
16:47 jcamins slef: yes, much better to configure networking correctly, but when you're accessing via IP, it doesn't matter.
16:47 CharlottevL you're scariing me... I install it according step-by-step manual and it was sooooo good working... conf file for ports i have never seen.
16:48 slef CharlottevL: do you have Koha at http://127.0.0.1/ and http://127.0.0.1:8080/ ? What do you want at http://127.0.1.1/ ?
16:49 eythian slef: ignore 127.0.1.1
16:49 eythian It's a thing apache does
16:49 jcamins CharlottevL: don't worry about the error slef commented on. Most people just access Koha a bit differently and have to do more configuration.
16:49 slef jcamins: pretty sure you can ServerName and NameVirtualHost by IP address too if you want.
16:50 CharlottevL now i just wand localhost working :( than i make back-up(me stupid) and tried to make accessible over IP adress.
16:51 jcamins slef: yes, I suppose one could, but I'm having trouble thinking why you would want to.
16:52 slef CharlottevL: you said http://127.0.1.1:8080/ 404 not found on this server... but what is at http://127.0.0.1:8080/ ? localhost is 127.0.0.1 and eythian is telling me to ignore 127.0.1.1 :)
16:52 slef jcamins: avoid the site vanishing when someone adds a second website to the server ;)
16:52 eythian         slef: 127.0.0.0/8 == 127.0.0.1 (IIRC)
16:53 eythian though, it could be apache is treating them differently
16:53 CharlottevL i though 127.0.0.1 = localhost, 127.0.1.1 is username
16:53 eythian (I'd be surprised though)
16:53 CharlottevL or something...
16:53 jcamins slef: fair enough.
16:53 eythian         CharlottevL: 127.0.1.1 == hostname == 127.0.0.1 == localhost
16:53 slef eythian: yes, the interface lo listens on 127.0.0.0/8 but apache handles each IP address as its own thing.
16:54 CharlottevL hostname, not username... true
16:54 eythian slef: well, that's what I'm wondering.
16:54 tweetbot` Twitter: @JemimaPorterfie: "#kohails Whoa : congrats : this kind of entirely rocks!! http://t.co/RBgJxuGD"
16:54 slef eythian: where are my networking colleagues when I need them to explain this more coherently than I can?
16:54 slef #kohails is 90% spam or just a target today?
16:55 slef eythian: wonder no more, apache handles each IP address as different.
16:55 eythian OK, good to know
17:03 CharlottevL uaah! ignore me, I'm just stupid woman, there was only bad filename in /etc hosts.... ta-da-da...
17:03 CharlottevL but thank you very much !
17:03 jcamins Yay! You fixed it!
17:04 drojf1 do hashtag spammers smell that there is a tweetbot here? or is it always like this with #kohails?
17:04 jcamins If you have some option to switch to Koha, that would probably be worth it, because we're very happy to help when we can. :)
17:04 oleonard It's not always like this drojf1
17:05 kf perhaps the twitterbot should tweet [off] ?
17:05 CharlottevL is there a big difference between liblime koha and your koha?
17:05 kf we will end up with all those links in the logs... then google... and so on
17:05 drojf1 oh *gets popcorn*
17:06 jcamins kf: ooh, good idea!
17:06 kf @later tell mtj - we got lots of twitter spam today - maybe the bot could tweet [off] ?
17:06 huginn kf: The operation succeeded.
17:06 jcamins CharlottevL: there's a pretty big difference, yes. We're on Koha 3.8 (working on 3.10), and LibLime Koha was based on 3.1.
17:07 kf ok, now I go - my 6 hours of cloning are over :)
17:07 slef kf++ very very very good point!
17:07 CharlottevL yes, that I understand, but for "normal users" - is there a big difference in administration (especially z39.50 protocol)
17:07 drojf1 CharlottevL: i think we do not really know from the technical side. liblime forked at, i think, 3.0, which was some time ago. we don't use it, but i suppose they miss a lot of the newer stuff or do things differently. and even more important, the only support you can get for liblime is from liblime, which means you have to pay them
17:08 kf it's a bit hard to tell, but cataloguing should not be too different I think
17:08 slef CharlottevL: our admin interface looks much shinier and nicer now, too? ;) Thanks to the lovely lovely people.
17:09 slef ?
17:09 wahanui is probably here
17:09 slef wahanui: bots?
17:09 wahanui bots are listed at http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/IRC_Regulars
17:09 slef wahanui: thanks
17:09 wahanui no worries slef
17:09 kf slef: rangi can clean the logs I think
17:09 kf bye all :)
17:09 jcamins @later tell mtj Alternatively, maybe it would be better to have tweetbot use /notice?
17:09 huginn jcamins: The operation succeeded.
17:09 oleonard /notice?
17:10 eythian /notice causes some clients to send a notification, which is annoying
17:10 jcamins oleonard: alternative way of sending messages, to avoid bot fights.
17:10 slef @later tell rangi can you scrub today's twitter spam from the live log and tell logbot to ignore tweetbot` please? We think it might be attracting more spam :(
17:10 huginn slef: The operation succeeded.
17:10 jcamins Look here all of you, consider yourself on notice!
17:10 slef @lart jcamins
17:10 huginn slef: Error: There are no larts in my database for #koha.
17:10 * oleonard would probably pay to see a bot fight
17:11 jcamins Hm.
17:11 slef huginn: @lart add oi, stop that!
17:11 huginn slef: I've exhausted my database of quotes
17:11 eythian they can get pretty funny
17:11 CharlottevL the admin interace (grafic) is for me not as important, I just need add books via z39.50 and add images..
17:11 * dpavlin finished Bug 8418 - Koha::Calendar fixes without touching anything else...
17:11 huginn          04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=8418 critical, P5 - low, ---, koha-bugs, Needs Signoff , Koha::Calendar is_holiday ignores all user data
17:11 jcamins still picked up the notice.
17:11 oleonard CharlottevL: Add images? Do you mean book cover images?
17:11 jcamins CharlottevL: I don't think you can add images on LibLime Koha. Not sure, though.
17:11 CharlottevL yes, it's possible :)
17:12 jcamins Hm.
17:12 jcamins Well, never mind, then.
17:12 oleonard anyway, you can do that in real Koha too CharlottevL
17:13 CharlottevL (because it's the only possibility, Im able to find books in my libraries (the older books from 1950 etc with nothing written on cover... the image is the only possiblity O:-) )
17:14 drojf1 do we know how many people develop liblime koha?
17:14 jcamins drojf: between 1 and 4.
17:14 drojf ok. that is a little less than we have :)
17:15 mbalmer marginally ;)
17:15 jcamins lol
17:15 oleonard They have slightly fewer international contributors too
17:15 jcamins I don't see any local cover image support at all.
17:15 slef lart jcamins
17:15 CharlottevL :D ok ok :D is there some way how to go to Koha and transfere all my books? :)
17:15 slef @lart jcamins
17:15 * huginn oi, jcamins, stop that!
17:15 slef oh drat
17:17 jcamins CharlottevL: if all you use is the catalog, you can export all the bibs from tools, then reimport them into Koha.
17:17 CharlottevL ehm.... can you explain me, why I have Koha version: 3.08.00.000 in "about koha?" ?
17:18 jcamins CharlottevL: if I had to guess, I'd say probably you got confused about where you downloaded it earlier.
17:18 jcamins Because that's a very good version to be using. :)
17:18 slef @lart jcamins
17:18 * huginn thinks jcamins probably likes LibLime so much that they sit in a chair carved from a giant lime! [off]
17:18 CharlottevL and its koha or limelib koha? :D
17:18 drojf also explains image support :)
17:19 jcamins Yes it does.
17:19 jcamins Koha.
17:19 jcamins slef: the [off] has to become at the beginning. :P
17:19 slef CharlottevL: you weren't downloading from koha.org in the last year or two then
17:19 slef jcamins: can you do that in an action?
17:19 slef oh well
17:20 jcamins CharlottevL: sorry, I gave you a huge history lesson and it turns out that you didn't need it. :)
17:20 slef not that I care that much
17:20 CharlottevL no, it was very interesting...
17:20 slef bbl
17:20 jcamins The good news is, we'll be better able to help now that we know, and if you have any future problems, you know where to find us.
17:21 slef jcamins: repeat after me
17:21 slef first question?
17:21 wahanui "What are you trying to do?" "What is the goal?" or "What problem are you experiencing?"
17:21 slef second question?
17:21 wahanui second question is "What is the exact error message?"
17:21 slef third question?
17:21 wahanui third question is "What version of Koha are you using?" http://koha-community.org/faq/find-version-koha-running/
17:21 slef fourth question?
17:21 wahanui i heard fourth question was "Are we there yet?"
17:21 slef fifth question?
17:21 wahanui i guess fifth question is "Are we there yet?"
17:22 * slef applauds
17:22 slef sixth question?
17:22 mbalmer answer?
17:22 wahanui answer is probably always go back to sleep or 42
17:22 mbalmer perfect!
17:22 slef really bbl
17:22 CharlottevL nice! :)
17:22 jcamins wahanui: Morning?
17:22 wahanui i think Morning is a state of mind. or whenever the cat wants breakfast.
17:23 CharlottevL i think, i'll need help :) i think, as i'll try to make it accessible via IP.. it can't be without huge errors...
17:24 drojf oh my. so i had some strange numbers again with benchmark_staff.pl. seemed like the non-plack staff client would eat all memory in the "all at once" test and then just skip stuff in the test. So i turned on swap and now that is running for hours already, with more than 300mb swapped
17:25 jcamins CharlottevL: if you open up /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/koha, you should see two <VirtualHost> sections. Make sure the one for the intranet is listening on *:8080 and the one for the opac is listening on *:80
17:36 tweetbot` Twitter: @SelenaCurrier: "#kohails Omg... Is that this the real deal? http://t.co/VUUhwAvg"
17:39 drojf narf
17:39 wizzyrea i think that poor person got eaten by a twitter impersonator
17:50 drojf all transactions at once 12442890ms 0.014 operations/sec :D
17:50 jcamins That's a lot of seconds.
17:51 jcamins 12442890/1000
17:51 wahanui 12442.89
17:51 jcamins (12442890/1000)/3600
17:51 wahanui 3.45635833333333
17:51 jcamins You waited almost 3.5 hours?
17:52 jcamins I would probably have become convinced that the system had died before then.
17:52 drojf was not at the computer until half an hour ago
17:52 drojf i had top open and saw it was alive. a little
17:53 drojf so that explains how the numbers for that test were much better before, it just did not do the test :D
17:53 jcamins Heh.
17:53 jcamins Pity.
18:01 jcamins Apparently Oracle acquired Endeca.
18:03 * jcamins will stick with open source software, thank you very much.
18:06 CharlottevL hi again, can i ask? I have changed all localhosts to 5.16.100.9 (I'm using hamachi) and restart apache, on server it's working fine, but it's still don't accessible from an other computer on the same wifi...
18:06 CharlottevL any ideas?
18:06 wahanui any ideas are welcome :)
18:07 tweetbot` Twitter: @SerinaHass: "#kohails Lol. How f'n hilarious...! http://t.co/SowW1ws0"
18:08 jcamins If you have a firewall set up, you might need to tell it to allow port 80 and 8080 through.
18:09 * cait waves
18:09 jcamins CharlottevL: on the computer that it's running on you're able to access it by going to http://5.16.100.9/ ?
18:10 tweetbot` Twitter: @ByWaterSolution: "Using the Calendar in Koha 3.8 http://t.co/zqyVfk2b #kohails"
18:11 oleonard Check it out, a real one!
18:12 drojf or just cleverly disguised as a koha video, have not watched it ;)
18:13 CharlottevL yes, on this computer it's working, but on the second laptop not...
18:14 jcamins And the server's IP address is 5.16.100.9?
18:14 CharlottevL yes... the the server PC is on the same wifi as laptop, and I'm using hamachi to have "Normal" ip, when connected per wifi
18:15 CharlottevL (the server PC is running on ubuntu 10.10, laptop is on WinXP
18:15 jcamins Why are you using a VPN if you're on the same wifi?
18:15 jcamins (I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're doing)
18:15 drojf heh paul_p has the same speed increase for the "all at once" benchmark without plack
18:15 CharlottevL because I'm connecting to this PC from an other places (school, lab...)
18:16 jcamins Okay, but right now you're not using the VPN.
18:16 jcamins Got it.
18:17 jcamins You have it set to listen on *:80 and *:8080?
18:19 CharlottevL this? NameVirtualHost 5.16.100.9:8080 NameVirtualHost *:8080 NameVirtualHost * in listen.conf ?
18:20 jcamins No, in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/koha
18:20 jcamins However, you also need to remove that first NameVirtualHost.
18:21 jcamins Just use * intead of 5.16.100.9.
18:21 CharlottevL ok, that's maybe a problem :)
18:25 pastebot "CharlottevL" at 127.0.0.1 pasted "apache configuration" (182 lines) at http://paste.koha-community.org/26
18:25 CharlottevL so it's correct?
18:26 jcamins What you should do is comment out those NameVirtualHost lines, and change <VirtualHost 5.16.100.9> to <VirtualHost *>, and <VirtualHost 5.16.100.9:8080> to <VirtualHost *:8080>
18:32 jcamins Then you restart Apache by running `sudo apache2ctl restart`
18:50 tweetbot` Twitter: @kohails: "#kohails Using the Calendar in Koha 3.8 http://t.co/zs14tsqY"
18:53 mbalmer what is tweetbot?
18:53 jcamins A bot that relays all tweets mentioning Koha to the channel.
18:53 mbalmer come one, that is the most stupid thing I ever heard.
18:54 oleonard Nice.
18:54 jcamins mbalmer: it seems like a perfectly logical name to me.
18:54 mbalmer the name is logical, the idea behing it is stupid.
18:54 jcamins A bot that tweets.
18:54 mbalmer spam spam and more spam
18:55 mbalmer at least I can ignore tweetbot.
18:56 cait I think it's a very nice idea
18:56 cait and we didn't expect it to be spam, as we don't see that many spam on twitter itself
18:56 jcamins There ya go. If you're not interested, you don't have to follow it, and those of us who don't use Twitter still can see what's being said.
18:56 liw I made a couple of tweets that used #kohails but I didn't see them on the channel
18:56 * mbalmer is mostly negative about social media. but since I can ignore tweetbot, no harm is done.
18:56 cait oh
18:56 cait and I didn't see yours on twitter *checks*
18:59 mbalmer my own tweet does not show up. good.
18:59 liw it was a couple of days ago, perhaps the bot hadn't gotten up to speed yet
18:59 jcamins The bot only showed up yesterday, I think.
18:59 cait ah, it's quite new
18:59 cait yep
19:00 rangi i just post all of mbalmers tweets on reddit anyway
19:00 liw is koha on reddit too?
19:00 libsysguy_class reddit++
19:00 libsysguy_class liw yes
19:00 libsysguy_class http://www.reddit.com/r/koha
19:00 * liw clicks subscribe
19:00 libsysguy_class yayy!!
19:01 oleonard It's not very exciting.
19:01 liw 17 readers :)
19:01 libsysguy_class true…i guess we could set up a bot to post our tweets to it :p
19:01 jcamins libsysguy_class: and a bot to tweet the posts to it!
19:01 jcamins And...
19:01 mbalmer or a bot to tweet what is said here...
19:01 liw high volume is not necessary for quality
19:02 jcamins Soon there will be an infinite number of identical posts. :D
19:02 libsysguy_class omg we could post the logs to twitter

19:02 oleonard Looks like it's time to protect your tweets mbalmer
19:03 mbalmer I AES256 encrypt them ;)
19:03 nengard this is an automated list of all of the posts on Koha related sites (that I know about) http://pipes.yahoo.com/nengard/kohablogs
19:03 nengard it's what feeds to Twitter and to Facebook for Koha
19:03 libsysguy_class koha is such a social butterfly
19:03 nengard here's the list of social networks: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_Social_Networks
19:04 nengard add others if they exist
19:05 mbalmer I will invent an asocial network. Where anyone can get an account for free. And not be able to communicate with anyone else.
19:05 oleonard mbalmer: That's called sitting at home talking to yourself
19:06 libsysguy_class but not answering yourself
19:06 libsysguy_class thats forbidden

19:10 libsysguy_class liw the lurker?
19:11 liw libsysguy_class, aye, it is I
19:18 rangi ah yep, spammers have caught on
19:18 rangi mtj can you turn tweetbot off until i stop it appearing in the log
19:18 rangi that will do for now
19:18 jcamins rangi: kick it?
19:19 jcamins Heh.
19:19 jcamins Great minds. :)
19:19 * rangi goes to purge logs
19:19 jcamins While you're at it, any way to make [off] work at the end of a line, too?
19:20 cait hm that might have been one of very few kicks ever
19:20 rangi hmm perhaps
19:20 jcamins cait: there have been a few.
19:20 jcamins There was the person who was pasting the entire results of ls -lR into the channel.
19:20 jcamins ls -lR /
19:23 * drojf made staff client benchmarks for the raspberry pi: http://abunchofthings.net/blog/koha-on-a-raspberry-pi-staff/
19:24 rangi sweet
19:29 jcamins drojf: are you sure those numbers are correct?
19:29 drojf jcamins: ?
19:29 jcamins When running all transactions at once without Plack, it completes more than twice as many transactions per second as when just doing one transaction at a time.
19:30 jcamins I'm wondering if there was a typo when you copied it onto the blog.
19:30 drojf there is more about that later ;)
19:30 jcamins Oh, never mind.
19:30 drojf :D
19:30 jcamins :)
19:31 rangi ok i dont have the headspace to hack at ilbot at the moment
19:31 rangi so i vote either someone else does, or we leave tweetbot out
19:31 jcamins Guess mbalmer gets a reprieve.
19:32 rangi git://github.com/moritz/ilbot.git
19:32 oleonard mbalmer: All your #kohails tweets are safe for now
19:32 rangi if someone wants to make a patch ill apply it
19:32 jcamins Hey, there's another option.
19:33 jcamins Preface everything tweetbot says with [off] so that it doesn't show up.
19:33 jcamins I think cait may have already suggested that to mtj.
19:33 jcamins But that'd be a lot easier, I think.
19:33 rangi oh yeah, if that happens problem solved
19:36 rangi ok spam all purged
20:06 libsysguy so I think im missing something with git bz
20:06 libsysguy i sign off on a patch
20:06 libsysguy and i go to attach it
20:06 libsysguy is there a flag I need to mark the other one obsolete
20:07 rangi yes
20:07 rangi git bz attach -e bugnumber HEAD
20:07 rangi then uncomment the obsoletes line
20:08 libsysguy ohh
20:08 libsysguy i was missing the uncommenting bit
20:08 libsysguy       rangi++
20:10 rangi there might be a bunch of patches, so get the right one:)
20:10 * libsysguy is an eagle eye
20:13 jcamins Well, at least this time there was no request for a video.
20:13 cait hm but the video one had a please
20:14 rangi :)
20:14 jcamins Ah, that's true.
20:14 rangi puppy training
20:14 rangi ignore the bad, reward the good
20:15 jcamins And keep your shoes locked in the closet?
20:15 rangi i suspect that one is entirely language differences though
20:15 cait good morning kathryn :)
20:15 jcamins Agreed.
20:16 jcamins I actually was serious when I said I thought this was better than the request for videos.
20:17 drojf slightly better
20:17 jcamins Slightly.
20:17 cait hm problem iwth this is that it's not really koha or ubuntu
20:17 cait it's a very general question
20:18 drojf and it raises a lot of questions before you can answer
20:18 jcamins Yes, much too general.
20:18 kathryn good morning cait and all :)
20:18 jcamins I was thinking a link to the installation instructions would be the way to go.
20:20 drojf those of ubuntu or koha?
20:21 oleonard That kind of message seems to always come through Nabble.
20:21 rangi yeah, they are never subscribed to the list
20:22 jcamins drojf: both.
20:22 * oleonard heads out
20:22 oleonard bye #koha
20:24 * jcamins prepares to do the same.
20:24 jcamins So long.
21:00 SJeffery Is there currently a way to auto-generate a barcode as needed (meaning it would not be auto-filled)? I can't seem to find a way around the auto-filling.
21:20 libsysguy anybody know if the boxes in advanced search are and-ed or or-ed together?
21:20 libsysguy i thought it was and before but now it appears to be or
21:20 cait it should be and
21:20 cait if you are not using the 'more options' tomake it or
21:21 libsysguy so if i did a search for an item type and then set a specific library it should be item type and library
21:22 cait yes
21:22 cait but not necessarily on th esame item
21:23 cait only in the same record
21:23 cait could that be what you see?
21:23 libsysguy oh yeah that may be it
21:23 libsysguy so i am seeing a record with mult items
21:24 libsysguy the one in the correct location is is not the correct item type, the others are the correct item type in the incorrect location
21:24 libsysguy if that makes any sense
21:25 rangi yep
21:25 libsysguy ok well that answers that
21:25 libsysguy       cait++ rangi++
21:28 rangi           dpavlin++
21:28 rangi i knew there was something i didnt like about bug 8110, he hit the nail right on the head

21:37 drojf heh yes that is funny
21:51 drojf somehow i cannot send emails to the patches list. it worked only once
21:51 drojf with git send-email that is
21:52 drojf "5.1.7 Complete address with domain, please ( http://portal.gmx.net/serverrules ) {mp032}" no idea if that means the sender or the recipient, but both are correct addresses
21:52 rangi i wonder if your mta is rewriting the from
21:53 drojf hm. interesting. but how would it have worked 12 hours ago then?
21:53 rangi hmm good point
21:55 drojf ah
21:56 drojf der is a lot of crazy stuff in the mail.err
21:56 drojf there
21:56 drojf it tires to send mails as root@5pam@gmx.de
21:56 drojf tries
21:56 rangi ahhh
21:56 rangi that doesnt seem right
21:57 drojf nope :)
22:50 jenkins_koha Starting build #93 for job Koha_3.8.x (previous build: FIXED)
22:54 libsysguy rangi do you know if TT filters is enabled in koha?
22:55 jcamins_away If you use them yes.
22:56 libsysguy jcamins_away what do you mean?
22:56 libsysguy oh
22:56 libsysguy use like import
22:57 jcamins_away Right. There are examples.
22:59 libsysguy jcamins_away do you know if you use them in the pl or the pm file?
22:59 libsysguy just as a place to start looking
23:00 jcamins_away Uhhh... tt file. See any tecent patch of mine.
23:02 rangi http://stats.workbuffer.org/chrisc_presentations/kohacon_hackfest/html/slide002.html
23:02 jcamins_away Meting time.
23:02 jcamins_away Meeting
23:03 libsysguy thanks rangi and jcamins_away
23:05 drojf alright, nice user error with the git send-email. i should sleep more :D
23:06 rangi :)
23:06 jcamins_away Or not...
23:08 libsysguy no meeting?
23:09 libsysguy so this may be a dumb question but i am trying to uri encode a TT variable
23:09 libsysguy the link that rangi sent me seemed like overkill
23:09 libsysguy am I just missing something
23:10 rangi probably
23:10 rangi that first bit is how to use a filter , and the second block how to write one
23:10 rangi if you want to use a built in one
23:10 rangi just use it
23:10 rangi | filter
23:10 rangi eg | html
23:11 rangi or | uri
23:11 libsysguy that is what i was trying to use was | uri
23:11 libsysguy http://template-toolkit.org/docs/manual/Filters.html
23:11 rangi yep, then thats all you need to do
23:11 libsysguy but I think im missing an include somewhere
23:11 rangi why?
23:11 libsysguy because its definitely not encoding
23:12 libsysguy in my carnumber I added a + at the end
23:12 rangi it would throw an error if that filter didnt exist
23:12 libsysguy so just like [% cardnumber | uri %]
23:12 rangi yep
23:13 rangi <a href="[% path %]?back=[% back | uri %]&title=[% title | uri %]"> like that
23:13 libsysguy yup its just like that
23:13 libsysguy img src="/cgi-bin/koha/members/patronimage.pl?crdnum=[% borrower.cardnumber | uri %]" >
23:14 rangi yep, if that filter isnt there it will error out
23:14 libsysguy crazy
23:14 libsysguy ok ill keep poking at it
23:17 drojf rangi: could you make the random bug use three or four lines by default? it maked the monthly scoreboard go up and down depending on the length of the bug title
23:18 drojf apart from that it's a pretty cool dashboard!
23:20 rangi drojf: i could if i wanted to learn css and i don't :)
23:20 drojf i can understand that :)
23:20 rangi however, its all in git so someone else can :)
23:21 rangi https://gitorious.org/koha-dashboard
23:24 drojf excellent
23:24 * drojf is bad at css though
23:25 rangi yeah im hoping we can persuade oleonard to take a look
23:27 * rangi plays with bug 8377
23:27 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=8377 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, 5p4m, Needs Signoff , Show HTML5 video/ audio in OPAC for media files in 856
23:27 rangi while the kids are being good and playing with lego
23:29 drojf           rangi++ # excellent choice :)
23:29 drojf i hope that rebasing thing really just worked
23:30 rangi it applied fine
23:30 drojf ok i got a simple css fix locally. but no idea if that is the way somebody who knows css would do it
23:31 drojf also i need a four line bug now to see what happens :D
23:32 rangi :-)
23:32 libsysguy fml….rangi I found my mistake…I was modifying circ-menu.tt in the include folder not circ-menu.inc
23:32 rangi that would do it :)
23:33 dcook Mm, I've wondered about that one before
23:33 dcook What is circ-menu.tt? Is it actually used for anything?
23:33 libsysguy i keep up those kind of mistakes around here and im going to earn a bad rep
23:33 libsysguy confusing poor guys like me
23:33 dcook I almost did the same thing when I was making bug 7839
23:33 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=7839 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, dcook, Signed Off , Enhancement: Show routing lists attached to patron in Patron record
23:34 dcook If it isn't actually used, I suggest we nix it, because it is a pain :/
23:34 rangi grep for it
23:34 dcook On it
23:35 libsysguy my emacs window is currently full of grep garbage
23:35 libsysguy it found a binary file :-/
23:37 cjh libsysguy: iirc you can use -I to ignore binary files
23:37 rangi drojf: you could take the stuff in opac-detail.pl and put it in a module
23:38 rangi pass in the template as an object, get it back
23:38 rangi but it appears to be working!
23:38 drojf rangi: only need to learn how to do that :)
23:39 rangi maybe ill do that as a follow up
23:39 rangi the bonus would be could enable this in the staff client too, without having to duplicate all that code
23:39 drojf that would be nice
23:39 rangi but its not a big enough deal to stop a sign off i dont think
23:39 rangi its a no risk change afaict
23:40 rangi without the syspref, nothing happens
23:40 libsysguy cjh just blew my mind
23:40 libsysguy       cjh++
23:40 rangi hmm?
23:40 cjh :)
23:41 libsysguy and on that note im out for the night
23:41 rangi cya
23:41 libsysguy bye #koha
23:41 cjh heh, night.
