00:01 jcamins Could someone check their logs, was I connected in between when I asked about Brooke's lab and now?
00:02 chris yes
00:02 robin jcamins: yeah
00:02 jcamins Errr... and could someone please tell me what time it is?
00:02 robin it's 13:20
00:03 jcamins Thanks.
00:03 jcamins Whoever is running the logbot should check their clock.
00:03 * robin 's plan to convert the world to NZ time is progressing
00:04 jcamins Except that logbot thought that 00:01 2010/11/15 was at a time that we agree was 13:19 in NZ.
00:04 robin hmm yes, it is a little skewed
00:05 chris i can fix its clock
00:23 chris done
00:24 chris you fixed now logbot?

02:35 chris to stop it complaining about the backup files made when im fixing merge conflicts :) (i know i could do a git clean but then id lose some files i actually want)

09:15 chris i suspect the author realised just how much work that would be
09:15 chris and yes, Oracle seem determined to destroy everything they bought from sun

09:17 fredericd kmkale: git checkout -b yourbranch origin/new/enh/bug_4440
09:17 chris fredericd: http://www.fiercecio.com/story/apache-foundation-plans-vote-down-java-7/2010-11-12
09:18 chris fredericd: i assume you were referring to that?
09:18 kmkale yay bt how do I reverese the patch I already applied?
09:18 fredericd git reset etc.
09:18 chris did you apply it on a branch you care about?
09:19 kmkale yup
09:19 chris did it apply clean?
09:19 kmkale yes
09:19 chris git reset HEAD^
09:19 chris git stash
09:19 chris that oughta get you back
09:19 kmkale and now I realize that because that happened my patch was already applied but now the print links for invoice and receipt are gone :(
09:20 kmkale something wrong with my tree
09:26 kf ok, done with testing for today - bbl
09:26 chris thanks kf
09:26 kf no problem :)
09:26 kmkale fredericd: does the above git checkout have both your and mine patches ?
09:27 chris kmkale: yes it does
09:27 kmkale ok. lets have a go
09:34 chris wow it killed his internet :)
09:35 magnus ouch
09:35 magnus is that a bug or a feature? ;-)
09:35 chris git checkout -b ping_timeout
09:52 kmkale chris, fredericd after doing git checkout -b yourbranch origin/new/enh/bug_4440 I have to apply fredericd's patch manually
09:54 magnus good morning druthb
09:55 druthb hi, magnus. :)
09:55 kmkale hi druthb
09:55 kmkale hi magnus
09:55 druthb Hi, kmkale! :)
09:56 chris kmkale: did you do a git fetch first?
09:56 chris because the patch is there
09:56 kmkale chris : no. should I have?
09:56 chris yes
09:56 kmkale first git fetch and then after doing git checkout -b yourbranch origin/new/enh/bug_4440 ?
09:56 chris yup
09:57 chris or you could checkout, then do a fetch and rebase .. easier to fetch first
09:57 chris http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/new/enh/bug_4440
09:57 kmkale oh. ok. past three days git has given me hell :(
10:04 * magnus sees the 2.2.9 intranet for the first time - wow, that's... different!
10:11 kf magnus: I would like to look over your shoulder now :)
10:14 magnus kf: not sure my client would be too happy about that... ;-)
10:14 kf hmpf :) I am trustworthy
10:25 slef magnus: I don't remember... it's been a while. Isn't the basic structure the same?
10:26 magnus slef: yeah sort of, but at least the one i saw was very bright green...
10:27 slef magnus: ooh, different.
10:29 * kf is still curious :)
10:29 magnus slef: and a kind of splash screen with a huge koha logo, that displayed some categories (main menu items) and more links revealed on mouseovering the categories
10:30 slef magnus: I really don't remember that but I think we had very 2.2 libraries (lack of compelling features, plus release date slip and funding changes at our main libraries)
10:32 magnus slef: this is the first one i have seen, so i don't know if this one is representative...
10:32 slef very few 2.2 libraries, I mean
10:34 magnus guessed so
10:35 chris http://photos.bigballofwax.co.nz/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=5923
10:36 chris our it could look like http://gallery.katipo.co.nz/katkohatemplates/home
10:37 slef oh yeah, green stripes
10:37 chris or this http://gallery.katipo.co.nz/album103/intranet_home
10:37 slef I imitated that on our koha web pages for a while... what was I thinking?
10:37 chris we had quite a few different themes
10:38 chris http://gallery.katipo.co.nz/album14/unido_intranet_home
10:38 chris etc
10:38 chris and now im going to sleep :)
10:38 kf yay - screenshots
10:38 kf good night chris :)
10:39 kf oh, this looks like batch edit optiosn
10:39 magnus thanks for the screenshots chris, thought maybe you had some lying around
10:40 magnus my wife would love that green colour! ;-)
10:46 * kf loves greent oo
10:46 kf too
10:58 slef By the way, people who travelled to kohacon10 in NZ: anyone still think internet access is generally cost-free? ;-) I'll ask again later.
11:17 kf hm?
11:25 slef kf?
11:35 bigbrovar Hi guys I am install koha using the debian packages for squeeze. and following this guidehttp://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Debian and the less /usr/share/doc/koha/README.Debian . I edited /etc/perl/XML/SAX/ParserDetails.ini accounding to the guide am following and moved the XML::LibXML::SAX:Parser section last in the file. however after doing this when I try to login via the web I get the following error http://pastebin.com/tSfHb6gX on the webpage.
11:35 bigbrovar here is a copy of my /etc/perl/XML/SAX/ParserDetails.ini http://pastebin.com/MHxhZ6AK
11:37 bigbrovar I can't really figure out what I am doing wrong
11:46 bigbrovar never mind I am reinstalling the whole server. hope this is the last time I do this :(
11:46 kf slef: I was wondering how to interpret your question :)
11:47 slef bigbrovar: ok, I won't comment :)
11:49 bigbrovar slef: sure u can its better to know what the issue could be so it wont happen again. just that I have spent so much time on this 2 weeks now? and am the only person working on koha here (installation of server, configuration, and marc migration :( )
11:49 slef bigbrovar: seriously, XML::LibXML::SAX:Parser should be XML::LibXML::SAX::Parser
11:50 bigbrovar thanks.. I guess I can halt the install I am just at the partition part so no harms done
11:51 slef bigbrovar: I think if you are using the packages, then I'm not sure how much of README.Debian applies, but I've not upgraded our test server yet (Wednesday, I plan)
11:51 slef today I am having fun checking accounts paperwork
11:52 bigbrovar well the wiki I am following recommended to read the readme.
11:59 bigbrovar is there a way to stop the maintenance message from showing even though It is set to dont show in preference.
12:41 gmcharlt greetings of the day
13:00 kf hi gmcharlt
13:00 kf hi druthb
13:00 druthb hi. :)
13:18 druthb hi, owen. :)
13:19 kf hi owen :)
13:19 owen Hi all
13:23 kf chris_n: overwrite all - as mentioned at the beginning of my bug report ;)
13:31 munin New commit(s) kohagit32: bug 4866 follow-up - minor code formatting cleanup <http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=commitdiff;h=0de5e43fcd0c37874c5f8738fbaee7660354c1f5> / Bug 4866 for master (Enable Change event for item plugins) <http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=commitdiff;h=fef4e30e2655e0ee0944c9f15ec29522e299208e> / Fix for Bug 4913 - Budget pages should show currency name instead of symbol <http://git.koha-commu
13:31 hudsonbot Starting build 39 for job Koha_3.2.x (previous build: SUCCESS)
13:36 chris_n kf: maybe I'm not understanding what you did, but by selecting "overwrite..." it would follow that existing attribs would be deleted if they were not duplicated in the csv
13:36 * chris_n still agrees that the help needs help
13:36 chris_n s/overwrite..../replace.../
13:38 kf chris_n: yep, but I did provide it - with wrong syntax perhaps
13:38 kf the problemw as I was not able to figure out the right syntax
13:39 kf and I wondered why it didn't complain - because I had more comma separated values in my list than in my header file
13:40 kf I have 2 unique attributes (identifiers from the old system) in my test file, it works with "a1:...,a2:..." but if you do "a1:...", "a2:..." it kills the second
13:40 kf only wondering, but if the help is clear enough abuot the right syntax it should probably ok?
13:40 chris_n kf: did you get a chance to look at the csv attached to the bug and compare?
13:41 kf I tried to look at - but excel... looked not pretty, will download it and open in open office
13:41 chris_n that one imports ok now, and has two unique patron attributes, one with a comma
13:41 chris_n excel-- :)
13:41 chris_n I definitely agree that the help is very sorry on this point
13:42 kf hm
13:42 kf I tried "'a1:...','a2:...'" - I was pretty sure I had used a similar construct before
13:42 kf but it didn't like it
13:42 kf your solution looks not very different
13:43 chris_n maybe try importing my csv and see what happens?
13:43 kf yeah, but shouldn't it work with normal ' and " too?
13:43 kf I can try yours, of course
13:43 kf I must confess, I missed the file when looking at the bug report
13:43 chris_n it should work fine with normal double quotes
13:44 kf i will retest it to make sure
13:44 chris_n I don't know about singles
13:44 kf can you type an example what you think shoudl work?
13:44 chris_n "A1:foo","A2:bar","A3:foobar"
13:45 kf nope
13:45 kf that is exactly what I did when it deleted my second attribute
13:46 chris_n can you send me your csv?
13:46 chris_n or attach one that you know does not work to the bug report?
13:46 kf I can, but I have to anonymize the date - changnign yours to match my branch and category types right now
13:46 chris_n ok
13:46 kf data... my typing gets worse and worse
13:46 chris_n just one you have verified manifests the bug you see
13:47 * chris_n will fix it :-)
13:47 owen Oh boy, another reason to dislike email autoresponders: Bugzilla integration!
13:47 chris_n looking for my bigger hammer as we speak
13:49 gmcharlt owen: ouch - which bug?
13:50 owen Bug 5110
13:50 munin 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5110 normal, PATCH-Sent, ---, nengard, ASSIGNED, NewItemsDefaultLocation should be under cataloging
13:50 kf ah, the one with nicole's comment?
13:50 kf chris_n: testing it now
13:50 kf chris_n: and thx for the feedback :)
13:52 kf ok, veryfying: "BORROWER#:222,SECOND_ID:224", works
13:54 kf "SECOND_ID:224","katrin.fischer.83@web.de" > deletes second_Id
13:54 kf ähm
13:54 hudsonbot Project Koha_3.2.x build #39: SUCCESS in 22 min: http://bugs.koha-community.org:8080/job/Koha_3.2.x/39/

13:54 hudsonbot * Galen Charlton: bug 4866 follow-up - minor code formatting cleanup
13:54 kf "BORROWER#:222","SECOND_ID:224" deletes the second_id
13:58 chris_n kf: so are you testing a case where the second attribute is an invalid one, and expecting it to be discarded by the script?
13:58 chris_n in your second example we are missing the attribute name
13:58 kf ehy is it invalid?
13:59 kf sorry chris_n - I can't follow
13:59 chris_n it should be "SECOND_ID:katrin.fischer.83@web.dehm"
13:59 kf I have attached my example - can you look at ti?
13:59 kf yeah, copy and paste error
13:59 kf the real example is the next line
13:59 chris_n k
13:59 chris_n ahh
13:59 chris_n ok
14:00 kf sorry about that
14:00 chris_n np, still early for me and no coffee yet
14:00 kf this is how you and the help suggests it should look like - but it doesn't work
14:00 kf the only form that seems to work for me now is " .... all attributes comma separeted "
14:01 kf but I will try " " with inner '' next
14:02 kf hm, I see now what happended - it didn't get deleted, it went into the next field
14:06 gmcharlt owen: I've added some filtering of autoresponders
14:06 * owen wishes the mailing lists would do the same. Oh, and block those "join my social media application" messages as well
14:08 owen I was on a mailing list once which rejected your message if you hadn't trimmed the mailing list footer from your reply
14:13 kf chris_n: did I scare you away?
14:15 chris_n kf: sorry, got called away
14:16 kf chris_n: I tested your syntax - it works
14:16 kf but I think it doesn't like normal quotation marks now
14:16 jcamins Good morning, #koha
14:16 chris_n kf: by "normal" you mean?
14:17 kf ' "
14:17 kf single and double quotes
14:17 jcamins Lots of Koha e-mail.
14:18 chris_n kf: as long as I have an example csv of what does not work, I'll be ok
14:19 kf I didn't upload all 4 - but the initial and what I changed
14:19 owen Is Bug 3430 still relevant? Does the OPAC ever show the "match" field anymore?
14:19 munin 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3430 enhancement, P5, ---, gmcharlt, NEW, Title matches in OPAC - need to remove control from OpacHighlightedWords preference
14:19 * owen remembers the "match" field, but doesn't remember when it went away
14:19 chris_n kf: thanks, I'll take a look, but later today
14:20 kf it's ok
14:20 kf hope I was not too confusing
14:21 kf plz ask :)
14:21 kf if I were
14:34 owen For testing Bug 2122 in the authorities editor, anyone know offhand of a readonly field in one of the default authority frameworks?
14:34 munin 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=2122 trivial, PATCH-Sent, ---, oleonard, ASSIGNED, Grayed out Fields not always visible
14:47 gmcharlt owen: it can be tested by assigning a 'thesaurus' to a subfield in the authority framework
14:48 gmcharlt however, I think that is only used in UNIMARC authorities
14:48 owen Thanks gmcharlt, that's what I'm trying.
14:53 Barrc Has anyone noticed that when one upgrades to 3.006 the order of the item tags, in the Add/Edit item screen in Staff, is messed up? Can't see a bug for it either

15:10 wizzyrea ok, let me just say, having experienced NZ bacon first hand, that streaky bacon is really kind of a let down.
15:10 Brooke when you live in VA honey, all bacon is a let down.

15:23 wizzyrea nz bacon is shoulder bacon.
15:23 jwagner The meat was very good, but there was too much fat on it.
15:24 jcamins jwagner: if you render down the fat a bit, you can make amazing biscuits with bacon fat.

15:26 druthb oh, my....biscuits and gravy...now, that'll stick to you and keep you going for a good while. That sounds good right now.
15:26 * jwagner shares some of the chocolate chip cookies I baked yesterday, if I can wrest them away from druthb....
15:26 owen You guys just gotta talk about food... You're gonna make my break into my sack lunch early.
15:27 Brooke I didn't get to be a traditionally built woman from NOT talking about food.
15:27 * druthb will share. Some. jwagner's cookies are special.
15:27 Brooke at risk of bringing business into mah chat channel
15:27 Brooke how do we go about turning the stinky Debian install guide
15:27 Brooke into thus
15:27 Brooke http://www.blazingmoon.org/news/2008/12/installing-koha-3-on-ubuntu-810-a-tutorial/
15:28 Brooke (Though any Debian install guide is better than none whatsoever)
15:28 * owen just got a "Boxbe Guest List" email following an email to the koha list. Grrr
15:28 jcamins owen: yeah, I've been eating a lot of bacon cheese omelets for breakfast recently, and carefully saving the fat until I had an even multiple of the amount of shortening called for in the recipe.
15:29 owen Alright, it's settled. KohaCon2011 at jcamins' house
15:29 Brooke I'm for it if he lives in Africa, Asia, or South America
15:29 * druthb is for it if he'll cook!
15:30 * jcamins only cooks for more than a dozen people when he's in the developing world where he can afford the ingredients.
15:31 owen Dear Boxbe users: Your guest lists messages are going into the garbage.
15:31 Brooke I've not cooked for multiples of people in quite some time, and I'm afraid I dun near poisoned Rosalie.
15:38 * druthb cooks for a small Mongolian Horde many nights--which feeds two teenagers Just Right.
15:38 Brooke how's your shield holding up from the heat?
15:39 Brooke ahoy hoy
15:40 druthb oh, pretty well. I've managed to the the older teen doing *some* of the cooking. Unsurprisingly, she doesn't eat so much, when she has to cook or clean up..
15:40 druthb g'mornin', cfouts.
15:40 Brooke cook OR clean up was always the ideal routine at mah house.
15:40 Brooke In reality, it was usually both, but it was meant to be OR.
15:41 laurenthd hi cfouts
15:41 druthb yah, that's how it is at our place, too. Having three of us in the house confuses the matter, and causes arguments.
15:41 Brooke clearly you needs bump someone off. *duck*
15:44 cfouts hello, folks
15:45 * jcamins wails and gnashes his teeth
15:45 jcamins The good news: our invitations finally arrived.
15:46 jcamins The bad news: they sent me the wrong envelopes.
15:46 Brooke d'oh
15:47 slef Invitation printers: how to complicate a simple task.
15:47 wizzyrea good day slef :)
15:48 jcamins slef: I'll say. This is a strong argument for sending out only electronic invitations in the future, I think.
15:48 gmcharlt jcamins: would save trees, too
15:49 jcamins gmcharlt: true.
15:50 Brooke oi slef
15:50 kf jcamins: kohacon11 at your house and we find sponsors for the ingredients?
15:50 Brooke holy crap it's 11AM here.
15:51 slef wizzyrea: morning sleepyhead.
15:51 slef Brooke: oi
15:52 slef I've got one of our US servers down. Anyone near Colorado to kick the datacenter for me? ;-)
15:52 Brooke alas, I am not near Colorado
15:52 Brooke if pianohacker were here...
15:53 slef ooh, I wanted them kicked not demolished
15:54 Brooke he's good at percussive maintenance. He's multitalented you know :P
15:56 * wizzyrea is not quite in kicking range of Colorado
15:56 jcamins kf: I'm not sure I could fit everyone in my apartment.
15:57 jcamins Convince the NYU Med School to sponsor, and I'll help with some catering. ;)
15:57 Brooke we had our go last year.
15:57 jcamins (or any Koha library in NYC that has *space*)
15:57 * Brooke shoos folks away from jcamins with a stick.
15:59 wizzyrea that's probably what his mom did when he was in high school. ;)
15:59 Brooke tee hee
15:59 Brooke that is *certainly* what my da did back then.
16:33 * Brooke salutes rhcl with respect.
16:34 Brooke this much evil requires a fuel source. Back in a bit after lunch and general squirreling.
16:35 kf ok, time to go home - bbl
16:50 * jcamins heads off to Staples to buy new envelopes
16:53 * slef hides from this talk of kohacon11
17:10 cait hi all

17:19 magnus hi cait
17:19 slef cait: I'll pass it on

17:20 chris which list, the main one?
17:20 slef chris: yes.
17:20 chris want me to unsubscribe someone?
17:20 chris if so, who

17:21 slef tyvm
17:21 * cait is practicing
17:21 druthb hi, chris! :)
17:21 slef cait: practising, even in English English ;-)
17:21 cait *sighs* ok
17:21 cait yeah, it looks wrong the way I wrote it
17:21 slef to practise (verb), practice (noun)
17:23 owen cait: "practicing" is correct in American spelling at least :)
17:24 cait hah, thx owen ;)
17:24 chris gone
17:24 cait now I only have to decide which spelling I want to use... but this will take a while. I will experiment a bit longer...
17:25 laurenthd slef: any problem with listserv ?
17:28 chris http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Talk:Koha_Conference_Bidding
17:28 slef laurenthd: no, only with users on it ;-)
17:29 slef I asked on-list, but let's try here: if you're watching a page, do you get notified about Talk: ?
17:29 chris dunno
17:30 chris i dont watch pages
17:30 chris i just have the recent changes rss feed
17:30 chris and see all changes
17:30 cait hm, yep, watching the rss feeds too
17:31 slef I can't keep up with that :-(
17:32 chris slef: whats a page you are watching?
17:32 chris ill change the talk on it, and we can find out

17:34 slef ok, I'm off to carnival - bbl
17:35 jwagner Hrmmm. Let's see if anyone has any ideas. Old install and isolated case, but I can't see why it happened. For three patrons on one day at one branch, the issues table did not record the itemnumber being checked out. I can see them in the statistics table for that day, but the patron's checkout list has blank entries because it's not linked to items. What could cause this to happen?
17:35 jwagner Looks like other checkouts on that day and before/after are fine
17:36 chris anything?
17:36 druthb evil pixies?
17:36 jwagner sunspots?
17:37 sekjal were the items deleted?
17:37 chris jwagner: the items exist, ie if you look in the statistics table
17:37 chris and find the itemnumbers
17:37 chris then check the items table, those items exist?
17:37 jwagner The items do exist, and at least one of them was since returned and checked out to someone else.
17:38 jwagner And that checkout seems normal.
17:39 chris no idea then, never seen it happen
17:40 jwagner Me neither -- the only time I've seen it is when items were deleted.
17:40 chris yup
17:41 hdl is the itemnumber correct in issues table ?
17:41 jwagner Seems to be so far -- am still cross-checking
17:42 hdl Is the biblionumber/biblioitemnumber correct in items table ?
17:46 jwagner Aha! Never mind. What they seem to have done is deleted the items but assigned the same barcode to new items. I found the barcodes they gave me as reference, but the actual item numbers are different.
17:46 jwagner Darn. Thought I'd found a new and interesting bug :-)
17:46 chris that'd do it
17:46 chris well the bug is they can delete them
17:46 druthb you found a new and interesting way for a library to do something not-too-bright.
17:47 chris unless they did so in the db
17:47 jwagner Well, yes....
17:47 chris but you should not be able to delete things that are on issue
17:47 jwagner I wouldn't have thought so, but I'm not sure when that check was written in -- this is an old install
17:50 sekjal if someone does "Delete All Items" from the catalogues detail page, that function doesn't check for items on issue. There is an existing bug report for this
17:52 gmcharlt bug 3597
17:52 munin 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3597 normal, P1, ---, gmcharlt, ASSIGNED, "Delete all items" doesn't check issues
17:53 gmcharlt fixed except for cosmetic issue of telling the operator why delete-all refuses to delete an item
17:54 jwagner Yes, but that function isn't available at this code level (
17:55 gmcharlt the easiest bug to fix is one that doesn't exist yet :)
17:56 * jwagner wanders off to create patches for vaporware :-)
18:06 Brooke opa
18:06 * owen wanders off to create vapors from tupperware
18:21 Brooke Sut Mae
18:24 cfouts hdl: about?
18:32 Brooke mibbit you whore dropping HDLs line.
18:39 * chris goes to catch a bus to work, to catch a taxi to the airpor, to catch a flight to new plymouth, to pick up a rental car, to drive to hawera
18:40 chris back from the bus
18:40 chris i mean, i will be back from the bus :)
18:40 chris bbiab
18:40 Brooke cheers
18:42 wizzyrea good luck with all of that
18:43 Brooke bah, he's not going too terribly far.
18:43 Brooke route 1 to 3.
18:43 druthb All he needs to make his day complete is to ride a train, too.
18:47 cait does that mean chris will not be online when I wake up?
18:48 chris 1 hour flight, 1 hour drive
18:48 Brooke We can never know the intent of the Aeternal, Cait. Burn incense.
18:48 chris Vs 4.5 hours in a car
18:48 chris Each way
18:48 Brooke damnit, He's still here. *duck*
18:48 cait yep he is
18:48 cait drive careful :)
18:48 chris I'm on the bus with a woman from lyon
18:49 * Brooke used to drive to Clarkson and back from Albany.
18:49 wizzyrea that sounds like the beginning to a poem
18:49 Brooke I've a very skewed picture of a close drive.
18:49 chris In nz its not the distance its the roads
18:49 chris And the milk tankers
18:49 Brooke toughen up, mate!
18:49 chris When going to taranaki
18:50 chris Tough is fine, late to meetings cos its single lane is lame
18:50 Brooke but for reals, 1 inch of shoulder is not nearly enough on a hairpin turn
18:50 druthb Having lived so long in West Texas, I have a kind of skewed picture of "close", too. 120 miles or so...is close.
18:51 * Brooke nods at druthb
18:51 chris Having lanes helps :)
18:51 druthb well, yes.
18:51 chris Or at least a passing lane every so often
18:51 Brooke I agree.
18:51 chris Milk tankers are long
18:52 chris And passing into oncoming traffic = dead
18:52 Brooke I marvel at Jo and Rosalie driving from Auckland to WLG with a trailer.
18:52 Brooke howdy fcapo
18:52 fcapo hello
18:53 * chris used to drive palmerston north to patea a lot
18:53 chris U can google map it :)
18:54 fcapo I got a small problem with link_bibs_to_authorities.pl . I get a CCL parsing error when an authority ends with a "?".
18:54 chris what version of koha fcapo?
18:54 fcapo example search query : Match-heading,ext="Lescarbot, Marc, 1570?-1630?" AND at='PERSO_NAME' AND Heading-use-main-or-added-entry=a
18:54 fcapo error : CCL parsing error (10014) Right truncation not supported ZOOM at /home/koha/var/sites/master.koha.sys-tech.net/src/C4/Search.pm line 242.
18:55 fcapo version :
18:55 * sekjal makes a mental connection: so that's where that error originates from!
18:55 chris Ahhh
18:56 chris Its interpreting the ? As a wildcard
18:56 chris Could you file a bug please
18:56 fcapo yep, for right truncation
18:56 Brooke nice catch
18:56 * Brooke cheers fcapo
18:56 fcapo ok, doing it
18:57 chris We should be able to get that fixed for the 3.2.1 release
18:57 Brooke      chris++
18:57 chris (Nov 22)
18:57 fcapo Anybody got an idea how to escape the "?" so it isnt seen as a truncation? :P
18:57 jcamins fcapo: I think our solution was to remove it.
18:57 Brooke there are workabouts in HTML that I assume exist in some form in PERL
18:57 chris       It'll be in C4::Search
18:58 fcapo hum... but sometimes an uniform title uses a "?" for a book title
18:58 chris or whereever we generate the ccl
18:58 jcamins fcapo: ours is a terrible solution.
18:58 fcapo heh
18:58 chris Probably is a regex doing it
18:58 jcamins I was just sharing how we did it.
18:59 chris I won't have a chance to look today
18:59 chris But if you file a bug hopefully someone else will or I will try to look tomorrow
19:02 chris id look now but I'm not as good with my phone as slef is
19:02 * Brooke posits that slef has tiny fingers in comparison to chris.
19:03 chris You know what they say, big fingers means rellay bda tpying
19:04 Brooke lol
19:04 wizzyrea o.O
19:05 Brooke every now and again poor Tom needs me raccoon paws to change out a network card or summat cause he can't navigate a tight space.
19:05 Brooke we had a shuttle at one point, and I swear it was comical.
19:10 chris Heh
19:11 Brooke oi Nate
19:12 wizzyrea nate!
19:12 Nate Hello hello!
19:12 wizzyrea :D
19:12 wizzyrea are you home?
19:12 druthb hi, Nate. :)
19:12 Nate Not yet
19:12 wizzyrea luckyyy
19:12 Nate In Rotorua
19:12 Brooke indeed, ye little bastage
19:12 Nate :)
19:13 chris Naw it stinks there
19:13 Brooke I'd give me left nut to be there, but it appears to have gone missing.
19:13 chris My bus stop, bbiab
19:14 Brooke the feck off huge bottle of gin is the same price at the offy as the smaller size. Need to know info.
19:16 ricardo Hi all :)
19:16 Brooke howdy
19:17 ricardo Is Chris (Cormack) around?
19:18 Brooke sort of. He's in transit today
19:18 ricardo Brooke: OK, no problem. I'll wait a little then. Thanks for the info
19:18 Nate Ok everyone ill talk to yas in a week!
19:18 Brooke he circles the logs like a hawk, so ask away and I bet he gets back to you :D
19:18 ricardo See ya Nate! :)
19:18 Brooke cheers mate
19:18 ricardo Brooke: LOL! OK, thanks for the tip
19:19 Brooke my pleasure
19:19 ricardo :)
19:21 ricardo Chris: Hi. For when you read this - would it be possible to give back the approval privileges for Portuguese ("pt-PT") translations for my Koha Pootle user ("ricardo")? There are LOTS of submissions waiting for approval and I would like to approve / reject some. If you want, I can post this request to "koha-translate"
19:21 Brooke euuuuu oppa :D
19:22 ricardo Brooke: "eu oppa"?
19:22 Brooke me using too many ps and us. :)
19:22 wizzyrea ricardo: try @later tell chris _what you want to tell him_
19:23 ricardo wizzyrea: Excellent idea. Thanks!
19:23 wizzyrea :)
19:23 wizzyrea not that he won't read the backlog and see, but this way it pings him
19:24 ricardo wizzyrea: right
19:24 ricardo @later tell chris Hi Chris! Would it be possible to give back the approval privileges for Portuguese ("pt-PT") translations for my Koha Pootle user ("ricardo")? There are LOTS of submissions waiting for approval and I would like to approve / reject some. If you want, I can post this request to "koha-translate". Thanks! :)
19:24 munin ricardo: The operation succeeded.
19:24 ricardo Thanks munin (munin, the always helpful #koha Bot, eheh)
19:25 chris can do
19:25 ricardo chris: Wb from transit! :)
19:25 chris im hoping to handover to fredericd pretty soon tho, but until he's ready
19:25 chris ill do that
19:26 ricardo chris: Many thanks :)
19:27 chris @later tell fredericd should we organise a time on irc where we can talk about pootle etc?
19:27 munin chris: The operation succeeded.
19:27 chris ricardo: try that
19:28 ricardo chris: OK... Wait a sec then, please
19:32 Brooke hidy ho
19:32 richard hi Brooke
19:38 ricardo chris: Yep, it seems to have worked. Thank you very much :) Do you want me to post something to "koha-translate" regarding this or it isn't necessary?
19:38 chris not unless you want too
19:39 ricardo chris: Not really, eheh
19:43 cyrixbmx Koha is compatible with MySQL 5.1?
19:43 jcamins cyrixbmx: yes.
19:43 cyrixbmx ok thanks. And there is no problem?
19:43 jcamins Nope.
19:44 cyrixbmx ok thanks :)
19:44 jcamins In fact, there are even added features.
19:44 cyrixbmx ok
19:51 ricardo I have to leave now. Take care everyone. And thanks again chris! :)
19:51 Brooke cheers
19:52 ricardo Bye Brooke :)
19:52 Brooke :)
19:59 chris fcapo: you there?
19:59 fcapo yes
20:00 chris can you try something for me just quickly
20:00 chris QueryFuzzy
20:00 chris is that set to on for you?
20:01 fcapo It is set
20:01 fcapo its on
20:01 chris could you turn it off, and try your authorities search again
20:01 fcapo ok
20:01 chris if that works, then i at least know where to start looking :)
20:03 fcapo I still get right truncation errors
20:03 chris thanks for trying
20:04 fcapo What I know it that the queries for link_bibs_to_authorities.pl are created in Heading.pm
20:04 chris right
20:04 chris my theory is they call
20:05 chris _detect_truncation
20:05 chris but that might be wrong
20:05 fcapo it creates a query, then pass it to SimpleSearch from Search.pm
20:06 chris ta
20:14 chris fcapo: http://www.indexdata.com/yaz/doc/tools.html#ccl.qualifiers
20:14 chris if you look at table 7.3
20:16 fcapo there's the truncation character :P
20:17 chris yep
20:17 Brooke well bollocks
20:18 Brooke it does read default, though
20:18 Brooke is there hope for swapping it for summat innocuous?
20:18 Brooke find and replace like?
20:18 chris you can strip it
20:19 chris but that isnt useful
20:19 chris because we are trying to search on it
20:19 fcapo might be a better idea to find a way to disable truncation for authority linkage search.
20:19 chris same goes to changing it
20:19 chris thats easy enough fcapo, but might break other things
20:21 fcapo If Heading.pm is only used by link_bibs_to_authorities.pl and it's possible to specify that we don't want truncation directly in the query, we could just add a "don't truncate" while creating the search query.
20:21 chris im not sure thats the only thing that uses it
20:25 chris but for your purposes yep, disabling it there might be enough
20:26 chris http://www.indexdata.com/yaz/doc/tools.html#ccl.qualifiers
20:26 chris t=100
20:26 chris by my reading
20:27 fcapo yea, just saw that
20:27 chris       in theory     my $query = qq(Match-heading,ext="$self->{'search_form'}");
20:27 chris that line, 109 in C4/Heading.pm
20:28 chris should be the one to change
20:28 chris maybe give it a poke, see what happens
20:28 chris :)
20:28 fcapo added "AND t=100" in the query limiters and testing
20:29 fcapo "CCL parsing error" (addinfo: "Unknown qualifier") from diag-set 'ZOOM'
20:29 chris yeah not sure you can put it there
20:29 chris try
20:30 chris       t=100,Match-heading,ext="$self->{'search_form'}"
20:30 * chris makes stuff up
20:31 fcapo CCL parsing error (10014) Unknown qualifier ZOOM
20:33 chris ahh
20:33 fcapo       hum... adding it at the end works qq(Match-heading,ext="$self->{'search_form'}",t=100);
20:33 chris yep
20:34 fcapo but I still get right truncation errors
20:34 chris http://www.indexdata.com/yaz/doc/tools.html#ccl.syntax
20:34 chris thats what id just got from here
20:34 fcapo oh, wait, no truncation errors, forgot to save
20:34 chris yay!
20:35 chris now the next check is to see does anything else use that, and is that safe in all cases, do we ever want to do right truncation? (i suspect the answer is no, its safe to do(
20:35 fcapo link_bibs_to_authorities.pl tries to find exact matchs, so no need for truncation
20:36 chris and we are sure nothing else in koha uses it?
20:37 chris if so, you could send a patch :)
20:37 chris and attach it to your bug request
20:37 fcapo I'm not 100% sure, last time I played around it I didnt see any other file using Heading.pm
20:38 fcapo I'll keep testing and if everything works correctly, I'll add a patch to the bug report I created.
20:38 chris fantastic thanks :)
20:39 fcapo thanks for your help :)
20:39 Brooke      fcapo ++
20:40 fcapo For reference : http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5410
20:40 munin 04Bug 5410: normal, P5, ---, gmcharlt, NEW, "Right truncation not supported" error when running link_bibs_to_authorities.pl
20:40 chris cool
20:44 fcapo ugh, link_bibs_to_authorities seems to never find results when t=100 is added :S
20:44 fcapo no errors, but no results either
20:57 fcapo got a way to make it work: in etc/zebradb/ccl.properties , add the line :
20:57 fcapo notruncation t=100
20:58 fcapo       then, add it in the query : my $query = qq(Match-heading,notruncation,ext="$self->{'search_form'}");
20:59 fcapo using t=100 in the query directly didn't work, dunno why
21:07 fcapo ok, found a qualifier that already existed in ccl.properties :
21:07 fcapo do-not-truncate 5=100
21:09 fcapo       sorry for the spam, the solution is now to use my $query = qq(Match-heading,do-not-truncate,ext="$self->{'search_form'}");
21:20 Brooke pfft, no more stalling on the roast.
21:48 magnus_a g'night #koha
21:49 wizzyrea you really can't appreciate all that has been done on koha until you go from 3.0 to 3.2… it's so pretty and works so nicely.
21:49 wizzyrea it's somewhat less apparent when you come from somewhere in between
21:50 wizzyrea but anyway, that's a roundabout way of saying "thanks for all of your work"
21:51 robin good morning #koha
21:52 wizzyrea mornin Robin
22:02 cait morning robin
22:05 wizzyrea hmm, I just noticed something interesting when upgrading a 3.0 db to a 3.03 db
22:07 cait hope it's only interesting and not a bug ;)
22:07 cait getting late for me - good night all!
22:07 robin bye!
